TP + Narayana Dasha Applied — Career Change, Unexpected Event & Marriage
Sheshu's career change: Tithi Pravesha D10 + Narayana Dasha used together to identify the exact year and period of a major career change. Sahama analysis in annual TP chart: Paradesa Sahama (foreign indicator) and Karma Sahama (career indicator). Suresh Babu's December 29 event: TP analysis for identifying unexpected events using the Bhava-the-dasha sign = 8H (surprise) indicator. Lady's ND marriage timing puzzle: how Narayana Dasha sign's 7th house from the dasha sign shows the desire operating during that period — identified marriage timing.
"7th house from the dasha sign shows the kind of desire the person has during that entire dasha period."
— P.V.R. Narasimha Rao
Example Charts
Example Chart 1 — Sheshu's Career Change
Chart data: September 16, 1961, 2:22 PM IST, Secunderabad (78°E30', 17°N27')
Event: Important career change happened the previous week (late January/early February 2005)
Running dasha: Mercury dasha, Mercury antardasha (ended ~February 4)
Annual TP D-10 Analysis
Hora Lord = Mars = Ruler of the year
- Mars = Lagna lord of D-10 (Sagittarius D-10 lagna)
- Running dasha when event happened: Mercury dasha, Mercury antardasha (~ January 25 – February 4)
Mercury's position in D-10 (annual chart):
- Mercury = 8th lord and 11th lord of this Sagittarius D-10 lagna
- Placed in 12th house of D-10
- Also occupies the house containing A10 and A2
What this tells us:
8th lord in 12th house:
- 8th lord's agenda = change, unexpected developments
- 12th house = giving away, losing something
- 8th lord in 12th house of dusthana = Viparita Raj Yoga type → "letting the bad go"
- "8th lord being in the 12th house, so you are giving away those tensions at the end. He will give lot of suffering and frustration, but finally the frustration will be overcome and you will actually gain. The tension will be somebody else's."
A10 (formal career Arudha) connection:
- A10 = Rajapada, the tangible, formal classification of one's job — not just "doing good work" but "working as Senior Engineer at Microsoft"
- 8th lord with A10 = changes in the formal job title, role, or employer
- "When the 8th lord is associated with A10, A10, or 10th from AL, there will be some uncertainty, there will be some big changes relating to the actual tangible job."
- Could be: getting a promotion, demotion, role change, company change
A2 in D-10 — Tangible Resources at Work:
- A2 = Arudha of 2nd house in D-10 = actual tangible resources you use at your work
- Resources = computer, equipment, software tools, colleagues who assist you, your workspace
- 8th lord associating with A2 = changes and uncertainty in these work resources
- "Somebody else may want that person (resource), and you may worry, am I going to get this guy or not? Finally, you may get that guy. That kind of thing is possible when you see 8th lord impacting A2."
- 8th lord in 12th of D-10 + A2 there: "giving up" the resource tension — you end up letting the bad situation go
Result exchange in conjunctions (applied here):
- 4 planets together in 2nd house of natal Rasi chart: Jupiter, Mercury, Sun, Mars
- Order of beneficence: Jupiter (most benefic) → Mercury → Sun → Mars (most malefic)
- Exchange rule: most benefic gives most malefic's results; most malefic gives most benefic's results; middle pair exchange
- Jupiter gives Mars results; Mars gives Jupiter results
- Sun gives Mercury results; Mercury gives Sun results
- In Mercury's dasha: Mercury gives Sun's results
- Sun in the natal chart: 2nd lord placed in 2nd house from Lagna → well-placed, strong
- But from Arudha Lagna: all these planets are in the 11th house from AL → gains in image/status
From AL perspective (gains in image):
- PVNR: "Planets in the 11th from Arudha Lagna should give gains in the image materially."
- Mercury in 11th from AL = material increase in professional standing
Overall conclusion from TP D-10:
- There will be a change in the formal job (8th lord in A10/A2)
- The change may involve some tension (8th lord's nature) but ultimately leads to better outcomes (8th lord in 12th = Viparita Raj Yoga; 11th from AL = gains)
- "8th lord in the 8th house: we said there will be some change in the formal job. That indeed happened."
Sahama Analysis (Deep Technique)
Two-part rule for Sahamas:
Part 1: Planet in its occupied house
- A planet in a house can influence the Sahamas in that sign — even without being the lord
- "It's like I am sitting in this room. It's not my room, but I can move this table; I can alter things. Those are the resources given to that planet."
- Look at Sahamas close in degree to the planet's longitude in its occupied sign
Part 2: Sahamas in signs owned by the planet
- A planet has responsibility toward Sahamas in its own signs
- "The signs owned by a planet are his agenda. If something happens in my house, I am concerned about it — I will make phone calls to fix the problem."
- Whether the planet can fulfill those responsibilities depends on: who it is associating with, its company, and what resources it has access to
Example — Mercury at 8°47' Leo in this TP chart:
- Sahamas in Leo (occupied sign): Asha Sahama (aspirations/hopes), Raja Sahama (power/position), Jiva Sahama (livelihood), Vyapara Sahama (trade/business activities)
- Sahamas in Gemini and Virgo (owned signs): various Sahamas Mercury is responsible for
Which Sahamas will actually fructify?
- Depends on who dominates the conjunction
- Sun is the lord of the house (Leo) where Mercury is — "Landlord always dominates"
- Sun is also natural karaka for power and 2nd lord of resources/money here
- Sun dominates → Raja Sahama and Jiva Sahama are most likely to activate
- Mars (enterprise) and Mercury (trade) being strong = Vyapara Sahama possible if they dominate; but Sun is stronger here → position/power changes more likely
Amsha (Dikpala) Analysis:
- Mercury is in Yama Amsha in the Dasamsa
- Yama = god of dharma; impassionate upholding of dharma; no attachment, no emotion
- "Yama: if someone is destined to die, let them die. Mete out punishment or let someone suffer without any attachment."
- Mercury in Yama Amsha = changes may require the native to be impassionate, to go through events without getting emotionally perturbed; he will endure that layer
Actual event: Within 4 days of the event — Sunday phone call → Wednesday interview → Thursday morning result → Thursday evening offer letter → Friday notice given. Changed job from Microsoft to a closer location (7 miles vs. 60 miles commute), lower nominal salary but more money in pocket due to savings on commuting. Confirmed: change in formal job, some tension, ultimately beneficial.
Narayana Dasha Analysis
Starting sign: 7th house → Cancer as progressed lagna during Capricorn Narayana Dasha
Currently running: Capricorn Narayana Dasha
Principle 1 — Narayana in Capricorn:
- Capricorn = 2nd house (from natal lagna Cancer)
- Contains 2nd lord Saturn (strong) and Jupiter (lagna lord)
- "Narayana is in Capricorn, which has 2nd lord and lagna lord. Saturn is strong here. He will make money, have money and resources. Intelligence will improve because lagna lord is also activated."
- 4th house = comforts → activated too; good period for comforts and intelligence
Principle 2 — Progressed Lagna = Cancer:
- Take Cancer as lagna and analyze the natal chart
- Ketu in 8th from Capricorn (dasha sign): Ketu in 8th from dasha sign = occult studies interest
- "Ketu is the karaka for occult knowledge; 8th house is the house of occult knowledge. If you see Ketu in 8th from dasha sign, there will be some occult study."
- Especially if the natal chart also shows occult inclination — this dasha brings it to peak
- 2nd house (from Cancer lagna) has Sun + Rahu: 2nd house weak → eclipsed → family life has upheaval
- 3rd house (from Cancer): Mercury exalted + Mars (yogakaraka) in 3rd → malefics in 3rd = very good materially
- Mercury is malefic here (with Mars, changes color)
- Both malefics + one exalted = good period; recognition and good karma
- 10th lord (Mars) in 3rd house: "10th lord in 3rd house = contract job, or lot of travel on job, short breaks in career"
- 3rd house = travel, communication, initiative; 10th lord in 3rd = work through travel
- Moon (lagna lord) debilitated in 5th: "period of lot of emotional drain" — lagna lord debilitated in 5th (house of emotions)
- 7th from Cancer lagna = Capricorn → shows kind of desire during this dasha
- Jupiter + Saturn both in 7th → strong desire for traditional knowledge, Vedic wisdom
- Both are retrograde → "Retrograde planets in 7th house show desire that comes like a flood, as if it has been buried for several lifetimes"
- Saturn also = desire for renunciation/detachment; going away from materialism
The 7th House from Dasha Sign = Desires of the Dasha Period: This is an important new principle:
— PVNR"7th house from the dasha sign shows the kind of desire the person has during that entire dasha period."
- Sun in 7th = power hunger; desire for position
- Mercury in 7th = hunger for knowledge, learning
- Jupiter in 7th = desire for traditional wisdom, Vedic knowledge, guru-shishya connection
- Saturn in 7th = desire for detachment and renunciation
- Retrograde planet in 7th = very strong desire; "it will come like a flood as if it has been buried for a few lifetimes"
Jupiter (6th and 9th lord from Cancer) — debilitated + retrograde:
- Debilitated + retrograde = Neecha Bhanga = acts as exalted
- As 6th lord: debilitated = good (Jaya Yoga part); but retrograde cancels debilitation → effectively exalted → 6th lord exalted = bad; "Jaya Yoga broken"
- "Things will go smoothly but there can be some big disappointments also."
- As 9th lord: exalted (retrograde) + in 7th house with 7th lord = Raj Yoga for dharmic interactions
- "When it comes to dharmic interactions — associations relating to dharma — there will be a Raj Yoga during this dasha."
Libra antardasha (2003 September – 2004 September):
- Libra = 5th house from Cancer lagna
- Contains: Jupiter + Rahu = Guru Chandala Yoga
- Jupiter is the 7th lord (and 10th lord) of Cancer lagna → "when 7th lord is in 5th with Rahu = Guru Chandala Yoga"
- Guru Chandala Yoga in 10th house from progressed lagna = career problems (job loss possible)
- PVNR: "If you see Jupiter associating with 10th house and having Guru Chandala Yoga, there can be some death-like situation in career."
- But 5th house also = children; Rahu + Venus dominate in Libra (Venus's own house) → "Venus teaches the demon; Rahu is kept in check; child's matters go well in a Rahu-Venus way"
- Wife/marriage: Jupiter is 7th lord but destroyed by Rahu + Venus → "not a good period for marital relationship; some tension about spouse"
- Dharma: Rahu = 9th lord from Cancer; Rahu in own sign with Venus = strong → "good period for dharma"
Scorpio antardasha (current):
- Scorpio = 6th house from Cancer lagna
- 6th lord is in lagna (or wherever Mars is) → "6th lord's agenda is sitting on your head; obstacles influence your intelligence directly"
- "This whole antardasha is an antardasha of obstacles, some enmities. He will overcome them."
Dasha Pravesha Chakra (Entry Chart for Capricorn Dasha):
- Lagna at time of dasha entry: Gemini
- Scorpio in entry chart = 6th house from Gemini → confirms: this is a period of obstacles and hard work
- 6th lord Mars in lagna = "obstacles sitting on your head; you have to use your head always to fight off troubles"
- "Overall, this year is a year of obstacles, and you will be working hard to overcome those obstacles."
Example Chart 2 — Suresh Babu's December 29 Event
Chart data: November 23, 1966, 5:45 AM IST, Tiruvallur (79°E55', 13°N09')
Event: December 29, 2004, afternoon ~2 PM — important event at workplace (he was going to leave for India anyway; accelerated the date)
Annual TP: November 22, 2004, 1:40:47 AM; Hora Lord = Jupiter
Running: Mercury Mahadasha, Jupiter Antardasha
(Note: Border chart issue discussed — lagna changes 21 seconds from entry time; PVNR proceeds with caution but as educational exercise)
Saturn as Exchange Partner for Mercury
Order of beneficence (in Mercury's dasha chart):
- Looking at the D-10 with Taurus lagna
- Mercury and Saturn are in the 12th house together
- Mercury (2nd and 5th lord) will give Saturn's results; Saturn (9th and 10th lord = Yogakaraka) will give Mercury's results
Saturn's results (given by Mercury in Mercury dasha):
- Saturn = 9th and 10th lord = Yogakaraka (single planet owning both 9th and 10th is called Yogakaraka — not exactly Dharma-Karma Adhipati, that requires Raj Yoga; here it's called Yogakaraka meaning good planet, planet of luck and success)
- Saturn in 12th house: "12th house = giving up something in career. It shows some letting go."
- 9th lord in 12th house: can give up the past, ignore past karma
- 10th lord in 12th house: can give up position, or give something away relating to work
From Arudha Lagna:
- Saturn is in 3rd house from Arudha Lagna
- Malefic in 3rd from AL = initiative, drive, boldness (good for materially-minded person)
- But Saturn is debilitated AND retrograde = Neecha Bhanga = acts as exalted
- "There will be ups and downs in terms of drive, but overall he will appear to be an achiever. He will appear to be a go-getter materially."
- Combined conclusion: Saturn (through Mercury) is in 12th house (giving up), but from AL he appears as an achiever
Result: He is yogakaraka giving up something in career BUT in a way that makes him appear strong. = "He will give up something, but which does not make him look like a loser — which actually makes him look like a winner."
Bhoga Analysis (Mercury → Jupiter)
Bhoga calculation:
- Count from Mercury to Jupiter = 7th sign
- Count 7 from Jupiter = 12th house
- Bhoga = 12th house = some kind of loss, giving up, compromise
Paka (where antardasha lord Jupiter sits):
- Jupiter is in the 6th house → Paka = 6th house
- "The way he exercises his intelligence is based on where the antardasha lord is" = 6th house = fighting, overcoming obstacles
- He exercises his intelligence to fight/combat
Actual event confirmed: He had a heated argument with a colleague (5 years of friendship). The argument nearly came to physical confrontation. Manager didn't intervene. He decided to leave the job earlier than planned (was planning June, now planning March). = Giving up (12th house Bhoga) achieved through fighting (6th house Paka).
Going Back to the Motherland — 5th House Rule
Key principle:
— PVNR"5th lord, Lagna Lord, and planets in the 5th house show going back to the motherland."
Why the 5th house?
- 5th house = house of emotions
- 5th house = house of patriotism (going back to roots out of emotional attachment)
- 5th house = house of purva punya (philosophical interpretation: you go back because of past-life merit/attachment to your land)
- "Going back to motherland is basically because of emotions. So the 5th house rules that."
Contrast with going abroad:
- Going abroad for the first time = 9th lord + 12th lord + Badhaka lord
- Returning to motherland = 5th lord, LL, planets in 5th
Leave timing prediction:
- Jupiter is in the 8th house of D-10 = long break in career or retirement
- Ketu (7th lord) in 8th house of D-10 = also shows break (7th in 8th = "Alpaish" = short life; in D-10 context = career dies/ends)
- Jupiter = dispositor of that Ketu → has extra power to give long break
- Jupiter dasha in TP comes around March-April-May → likely to actually separate from job in Jupiter dasha
- PVNR: "Even if he formally resigns in Saturn dasha, the complete detachment cutoff is likely in Jupiter dasha. There may still be some connection (emails, loose ends) until Jupiter activates."
Example Chart 3 — Lady's ND Marriage Timing Puzzle
Chart data: September 12, 1971, 8:25 AM IST, Guntur (80°E27', 16°N18')
Question: When will she get married? (Father asking in 1988; she is 17)
Narayana Dasha: Starts from 7th house (Aries) → 7th house is the stronger starting point
Running at time: Leo Narayana Dasha
Leo Dasha — Is Marriage Possible?
Progressed lagna during Leo dasha:
- ND starts from 7th (Aries) → for Leo dasha: 7th from Leo = Aquarius = progressed lagna
- From Aquarius as progressed lagna, 7th house = Leo
- Leo has: Venus (karaka for marriage) + Sun (7th lord from Aquarius since Leo = 7H from Aquarius)
- Both Venus (marriage karaka) and Sun (7th lord) in 7th house → strong indication for marriage
Can't Sun weaken Venus?
- If Sun were the 6th lord here, he would suppress Venus and destroy marriage indication
- "6th lord's agenda is brahmacharya/bachelorhood" → 6th lord in 7th would dominate and prevent marriage
- But here, for Aquarius lagna, the 7th lord is Sun himself
- When karaka (Venus) and house lord (Sun) both have the same agenda (marriage) and are in the 7th → very strong indication
- "Both are together and both have the same agenda. So because of that, there is a very strong chance of marriage."
- She did get married during Leo dasha ✓
6th House = Brahmacharya / Bachelorhood
Venus's Marana Karaka Sthana = 6th house.
This is not accidental:
- Venus is the karaka for love, marriage, relationships
- The 6th house is the house of obstacles to enjoyment, celibacy, service, enemies
- "6th house is the house of brahmacharya. That is why Venus has Marana Karaka Sthana there."
- If the 6th lord is in the 7th house with Venus (or dominates Venus): marriage is suppressed because 6th lord's agenda (brahmacharya) overrides Venus's agenda (marriage)
Important rule: When looking for marriage timing, check if any 6th lord is involved with Venus or the 7th house — it can act as a barrier.
Antardasha for Marriage — Which Signs in Dasha Pravesha Chakra?
In the Dasha Pravesha Chakra for Leo dasha:
- 7th house from progressed lagna Aquarius = Leo (in the TP Pravesha chart's layout)
- But working in the Pravesha Chakra: Scorpio is the 7th house (in the Pravesha Chakra's own sign system)
- Scorpio has two lords: Mars and Ketu
- Mars is in the 5th house (house of recognition/abilities; closer to 7H in trine) → Mars can give marriage
- Ketu is in a hostile sign (enemy's house) → Ketu cannot give marriage effectively
- Mars is the more likely to give marriage → Scorpio antardasha most likely
- Also consider: Aquarius antardasha (where all planets cluster in some charts)
She got married in Scorpio antardasha ✓
Caution about Arudha padas in Pravesha Chakra: "In general, use arudha padas lightly in the Narayana Dasha Pravesha Chakra. You can use them, but go easy. Just look at the house."
Capricorn Antardasha in Ketu Mahadasha (Sep 1994 – Sep 1995)
Context: Ketu dasha is now running. Capricorn is an antardasha within Ketu dasha.
In the Ketu dasha Pravesha Chakra:
- Capricorn = 9th house from Aquarius (progressed lagna)
- Moon is in Capricorn → Moon here is 3rd lord
- 9th house + 3rd lord Moon = fortune + travel
- Lord of Capricorn = Saturn → in 8th house
- "Saturn's agenda as 9th lord = to give fortune. But he lives in 8th house. So fortune comes through 8th house tools = change, uncertainty, instability."
Actual event confirmed: In early 1995, she went to South Korea with her husband. She was pregnant. Didn't like South Korea. After 8 months, came to the USA. This whole period = 9th house (fortune blooms abroad; long-distance travel) + Moon as 3rd lord (travel, journeys) + Saturn in 8th (instability, anxiety, rough period).
