Sade Sati from Divisional Moons: D9 Moon = Marriage Sade Sati, D10 Moon = Career Sade Sati (NOT Only from Rasi Moon); Gemstone Multi-Varga Rule: Check Rasi+Navamsa+Dasamsa Minimum — "Worth Praying To But NOT Wearing"; Diamond (Venus) Best: 10L Rasi + LL D9 + Good D10

Saturn’s transit is judged from the Dasamsa Moon as well as the Rasi Moon. For about three years Saturn was in the 8th from this native’s Rasi Moon at 28° Sagittarius (Aṣṭama Śani) and, after 5° Leo, in the 1st from lagna; in the last two of those years he was also in the 12th from the Dasamsa Moon at 12° Virgo — the seven and a half years of Saturn counted for career. The method: take the transit in the zodiac, take the Navamsa Moon or Dasamsa Moon as the reference; a person does not suffer in every area of life at once. The second half judges gemstones the same way, across Rasi, Dasamsa, Navamsa and Hora: Jupiter’s yellow sapphire, which the native wears, is “worth praying to but not worth wearing”; Saturn’s stone would help career and harm health; ruby and red coral are rejected; diamond for Venus is the choice.

Key principle

Take the transit in the Rasi chart, but see the reference in the Dasamsa chart. See the Dasamsa Moon as reference and see how the transit is. You do not suffer in all areas of life at the same time — sometimes your marriage is good, but your job is bad.

Rasi: Moon at 28° Sagittarius, so the 8th house from Moon runs from 28° Cancer to 28° Leo; lagna Leo at about 6°. D-10: Moon in Virgo (12° in the class software, about 11° here), so the 12th from the Dasamsa Moon runs from about 12° Leo to 12° Virgo. For the gemstones compare Jupiter and Venus chart by chart. Rasi: Jupiter debilitated in the 6th, Venus 10th lord in the 11th. D-10: Jupiter in Scorpio, the 3rd, as 7th lord; Venus in his own Libra, the 2nd; Mars in Aries, the 8th. D-9 (lagna Taurus): Jupiter with Rahu in Pisces, the 11th; Venus, lagna lord, in the 10th. The Hora placements quoted in class are from the class software’s Hora chart; the site’s D-2 uses another scheme and differs.

Saturn's Transit — from Rasi Moon and from Dasamsa Moon

Sun's transit changes every month. Saturn moves slowly and is the Vimshottari dasha lord, so his transit is the one to judge. "If he is suffering for a while, definitely Saturn's transit has to be bad."

From the Rasi Moon (28° Sagittarius)

  • Houses are measured from the Moon's degree: 28° Sagittarius to 28° Capricorn is the 1st house; 28° Cancer to 28° Leo is the 8th.
  • For about the last three years Saturn was in the 8th from Moon: Aṣṭama Śani. Tensions, worries, health problems, career problems, anxiety building in the mind.
  • After Saturn crossed 5° Leo he was also in the 1st house from lagna. The 1st is the body: physical trouble as well. "He is basically hammering in various ways."
  • Saturn has now crossed 28° Leo. He is in the 9th from Moon. Aṣṭama Śani has ended.

"It is not good, but it is not as bad as the previous one."

  • On transit alone there is scope for some relief in mental and physical tension. The final judgment needs the dasha too.

From the Dasamsa Moon (12° Virgo)

  • Career is the main trouble, so take the Dasamsa Moon as the reference.
  • 12° Leo to 12° Virgo is the 12th house from the Dasamsa Moon.
  • For the last couple of years Saturn was transiting the 12th from the Dasamsa Moon, while also in the 8th from the Rasi Moon and the 1st from the Rasi lagna.
  • A student says Saturn in the 12th is not so bad. "No, it is bad." It is the seven and a half years of Saturn, counted from the Dasamsa Moon.
  • One is Aṣṭama Śani, the other is the seven and a half years. Both ran together for the last two years, with Saturn's Vimshottari dasha on top.

How to do it

"Take the transit in the Rasi chart, but see the reference in the Dasamsa chart. See the Dasamsa Moon as reference and see how the transit is."

  • The transit is always the planet's actual position in the zodiac. Only the reference point comes from the varga.
  • Transits of Saturn, Jupiter and others can be seen from the Navamsa Moon and the Dasamsa Moon, not only from the Rasi Moon.
  • Someone running the seven and a half years from the Rasi Moon may do fine in career and suffer in marriage.

"You do not suffer in all areas of life at the same time. Sometimes your marriage is good, but your job is bad."

  • The teacher glances at the Navamsa Moon, says there may be a problem from there too, and sets it aside.
  • Saturn's transit is not the whole problem. It is aided by the Sun dasha and by Sun's weakness in both the Dasamsa and the Rasi.

"He is worth praying to but not really worth wearing on your body."

Overall a mixed influence; in career a negative one.

What should he wear for career?

  • Blue sapphire (Saturn): Saturn and Venus give the Raj yoga. But Saturn is the 6th lord in lagna in the Rasi and his Vimshottari dasha is running. Good for career, bad for health: Vata diseases, dryness. Not now.
  • Diamond (Venus): the choice.

Rasi10th lord in the 11thGains, career; not bad for health
Dasamsa2nd lord in the 2ndGood
NavamsaLagna lord in the 10th"Perfectly fine"
Hora (class software)3rd and 10th lord in the 2nd, debilitated"Not at all bad"
  • Ruby (Sun): first "fine", then withdrawn. "For career it is not good. I take it back. It's only for health."
  • Red coral (Mars): good in the Rasi, but the 8th lord in the Dasamsa. Not good.

How much a gem does

  • "Diamond is better to wear than what he is wearing right now."
  • If he has a diamond, wear it. Do not borrow to buy one. "It will help a little bit." The yellow sapphire is not helping.
  • White clothes and the like: "very, very minor influence."
