The Three-Level Framework
A house counted from Lagna shows the hidden truth, the Arudha of that house shows the tangible thing the world can measure, and the same house from Arudha Lagna shows the image. The class works this through devotion and mantras in D20, communication and weapons for the 3rd house, and awards in D10, and insists the three must not be used interchangeably. It then sets out the Dharma, Artha and Kama trikonas as seed, process and result, and separates the Rashi chart (the body) from the divisional charts (environments) and from D60 (karma, read without Arudhas).

When you look at houses from Lagna, those houses show what is inherently within you. They show the truth. And that is something that nobody can perceive, nobody can judge, nobody can measure. It is just hidden.

The Core Distinction
The class opens by repeating the key point of the previous class.
"When you look at houses from Lagna, those houses show what is inherently within you. They show the truth. They show the ultimate reality, absolute reality. And that is something that nobody can perceive, nobody can judge, nobody can measure. It is just hidden."
"If you look at the Arudha of that house, that is something that is rising materially and you can perceive it. It is a tangible thing."
Three things are read for any matter:

Arudha Lagna is the way your very existence manifests materially. It is your image. Houses counted from it show the qualities of that image.
D20 Example — Devotion and Mantras
- The basic meaning of the 5th house is ability. Dharma (9th) comes from abilities; that is why 1, 5, 9 are the Dharma trikonas.
- In D24 (learning) the ability needed is scholarship, so the 5th shows scholarship.
- In D20 (spiritual pursuit) the ability needed is discipline and devotion, so the 5th shows those. An illiterate person can be spiritually very advanced.
- A5 in D20 = the mantras one recites, the pujas and rituals one follows, the temples one visits. Everybody can hear the mantra. Nobody can perceive the devotion — the person himself knows it only partly.
"The pujas that you do, the mantras you recite, the temples that you visit — they are a measure of your devotion, but they are not accurate. In this illusory world they are a measure, because they are the tangible manifestations of your devotion."
The 3rd House Three Ways

A3 is not people's impression. It is the tangible things that come into existence because of the initiative.
- The 3rd house is initiative. Communication and bravery are both read from it because each is a form of initiative.
A5 in Dasamsa — Awards
- A5 in D10 = the tangible recognition: the Oscar, the Filmfare award, the prize, the box-office hit. A good planet in A5 can give an award in its dasha.
- 5th from AL = people's impression of one's abilities. If the same planet is not good for the 5th from AL, people say he did not deserve it, he got it through politics.
- 5th from Lagna = the inherent abilities.
The three are usually linked, but they do not have to be.
A student asks: awards while a person is studying would be seen from Siddhamsa (D24), and once he is at the workplace from A5 of D10? Yes.
Intellectual Honesty
Jyotisha has many parameters — Lagna, Arudha Lagna, Arudha Padas, Chara Karakas, Naisargika Karakas, Argala, Rasi Drishti, Graha Drishti. If they are used interchangeably, the known past can always be explained: no argala, no rasi drishti on the 5th, but rasi drishti on A5 — "okay, then I will explain it." With that attitude the past is always explained and future predictions go wrong.
"If you say that Rahu is in the 5th house, and that's why in Rahu antardasha he became a popular actor — that is not an explanation. Popularity is from the 5th house from AL. And if he got a tangible thing like an award or a box-office hit, then it is A5."
- Decide what you are trying to explain, then choose the parameter that shows that thing.
- If the dasha and antardasha do not make sense, say so. Maybe the dasha is wrong — maybe Lagna Vimshottari has to be used instead of Moon Vimshottari in that case, or another dasha.
"If something doesn't make sense, accept it and move on. It doesn't hurt to accept that it doesn't make sense. But if you somehow explain it, you will not learn."
Trikona Groupings: Seed, Process, Result
Dharma Trikonas (1, 5, 9)

Artha Trikonas (2, 6, 10)
These three houses show the karma — the things that you do.

Kama Trikonas (3, 7, 11)
The trines of desire. They show what motivates you.

If the 3rd is strong and the 6th weak, the person starts many things and does not finish them. Finishing needs the 6th.
- The 3rd and the 6th together decide whether anything gets accomplished.
- A strong malefic in the 3rd shows great initiative.
3rd House Is Not War
- 3rd house = the spark to go to war, the bravery to fight. Only the initiative.
- War itself = 6th house, because war is overcoming an obstacle. The enemy can be within. A computer that fails before class and has to be replaced is also a war.
A3 and Weapons
"If I come to you with a small knife and I say I will kill you, will you be afraid of me? Or if I come with a big sword? The sword that I am carrying, the gun that I am carrying — that will make you decide how brave I am. So one of the things that A3 shows are the weapons."
- People usually form their impression of bravery from A3, but there need not be a link.
- A malefic or Rahu in A3: a very destructive weapon in hand.
- Jupiter in the 3rd from AL at the same time: people think "he is carrying that weapon, but he will not use it."
Rashi Chart vs Varga Charts
A student asks when to go from the Rashi chart straight to the divisional chart.
Rashi = Physical Existence
- Per Parasara the Rashi chart is the chart of physical existence — what the body goes through.
- The divisional charts are the environments in which brain, mind and soul operate — the learning environment, the professional environment, the financial environment.
- 4th house of the Rashi chart = physical comfort. Learning, the mother's love, the house, the car show there only to the extent they give physical comfort.
- Great Raj Yogas in D10 with the same planet in a dusthana in the Rashi chart: he may be the president of a country and yet always sick or struggling physically.
- The Rashi chart is not less important. For the mind it all comes down to the body.
"I am not saying ignore the Rasi chart. Rasi is important, but if you are specifically interested in a particular matter, directly go to the divisional chart. You will be very successful that way."
PVNR's Own D24 (Learning Chart)
Birth: April 4, 1970, 17:47:08 IST, Machilipatnam. D24 is Siddhamsa — the chart of understanding, not only of formal education.
- D24 lagna: Gemini.
- Venus in the 9th (Aquarius). Venus owns the 5th (scholarship; specifically Vedanga and traditional knowledge) and the 12th (giving). The lord of 5 and 12 sitting in the house of Dharma: his Dharma is to build scholarship and use it to give to people. Teaching the class is that Dharma.
- Mars in the 12th (Taurus). Mars is the 11th lord. The classical dictum for the 11th lord in the 12th: he gains, and he spends what he gains. The dictum holds in every divisional chart, but the meaning must be adapted to the chart. In D24: whatever he learns he gives back, and by giving he gets more.
- 12th house is vyaya. That is giving, not necessarily loss.
"Whenever I get something new, I am very eager to give it back so that I get more. And usually as I give things to people, I get more."
The same Venus in the Rashi chart (Virgo lagna) is in the 8th, in Aries, with Mars, Mercury and Saturn. A student says "occult knowledge". No — that is the 8th in a chart of knowledge. In the chart of the body the 8th is hard work, tension, suffering, death. He strains himself.
"When my father took my Rasi chart to an old astrologer, he said, 'Oh, this guy is very unlucky. With a lot of difficulty he will pass BA and then he will be a teacher.' But I did quite okay in education. He was quite off the mark because he used thumb rules. He saw so many planets in the 8th house."
What it shows instead: always hard-working, never satisfied with what he has got. To see whether a person is physically happy, sad, sick or healthy, use the Rashi chart. To see how he does in education, use D24.
D60 (Shashtiamsa) — the Karma
- D60 is the blueprint, at the level of karma, carried from all the past lives — the karma to be experienced in this life.
- Parasara: in Rashi see the body, in Hora money, in D3 siblings, in D24 learning, in D20 spiritual pursuit — and in D60 everything.
- So D60 is looked at for every matter. A planet in the 8th house but in a benefic Shashtiamsa: the person works hard, but happily, without struggling. A planet in a kendra, say the 10th, carrying bad karma: he suffers in career.
- Each planet's Shashtiamsa has a name (the "Amsa rulers" tab of the software). The name describes the karma.
"In D60 you see everything, because that is the overall karma. Whether it is in my learning or spiritual pursuit or in the matter of children — if the particular planet shows bad karma from past life, it only shows suffering. If it shows good karma from past life, it only shows blessings."

Two cautions:
- No Arudha in D60. On the plane of karma there is only Satya. Read from lagna only.
- The D60 lagna changes about every 2 minutes. Do not use the D60 chart unless the birth time is rectified. With a very accurate time, predictions can be made from D60 alone.
Key Principles Summarized
- Three levels. House from Lagna = the hidden truth. Arudha of the house = the tangible thing. House from Arudha Lagna = the image. Decide which of the three the event is, then read that one.
- Functional nature is always from Lagna. Whether a planet is good or bad is judged from lagna, never from AL. Its effect on image is then read by its place from AL.
- Mahadasha = Sun = houses and lordships. Antardasha = Moon = Arudhas.
- Rasi drishti is always there. Graha drishti is a desire that may or may not manifest. Argala must happen.
- 3rd is the spark; the 6th is the war. A3 shows the weapons.
- For one matter, go to its divisional chart. The Rashi chart shows what the body experiences.
- D60 is seen for everything, and has no Arudha.
- Never assume a birth time is right. If the events cannot be explained, the chart is not right.
- Career: link the 2nd, 6th and 10th. The planet tied to all three shows the career.
- Do not twist. If it does not make sense, accept that and move on.
