BPHS Ch.87 Krishna Chaturdashi 6-Part Analysis, Shiva Shanti Procedure & Vimshottari Dasha Seed Strength
BPHS Chapter 87: Krishna Chaturdashi (14th waning tithi) divided into 6 equal parts — only Part 1 is auspicious, Parts 2-6 cause progressively worse harm. Part 1 (83.33–100% tithi remaining at birth) = no dosha; Part 2 = father suffers; Part 3 = mother suffers; Part 4 = maternal uncle suffers; Part 5 = entire lineage suffers; Part 6 = wealth destroyed + self destroyed (worst). How to find part: use Jagannatha Hora, check tithi percentage remaining at birth time, divide 100 by 6 = 16.67% per part. PVNR's own chart: born on Krishna Chaturdashi, 85.999% remaining = Part 1 = no shanti needed. Shiva shanti procedure (Parts 2-6): gold Shiva idol (crescent in hair, white clothes, white garland, three eyes, on Nandi, Vara+Abhaya mudras); same Kalasha; Maha Mrityunjaya (Trayambakam) as main mantra; Navagraha puja (28 minimum); Homa with ghee+sesame+urad+mustard; Abhishekam + dakshina + brahmana bhojana with pure/joyful heart. Vimshottari dasha seed variants: Janma (natal Moon nakshatra) = for Phala Shastra (life results); Shyama, Utpanna (5th from Moon), Adhana (conception) = potentially stronger for Ayur Shastra (death/longevity). Test: count planets in Kendras from each seed — use the variant with most Kendra planets for the death analysis.
"Shiva chose Chaturdashi as his own tithi — births on this day have a special relationship with Shiva. The remedy is Shiva himself, through Maha Mrityunjaya. Chaturdashi born people who worship Shiva with sincerity can transcend the dosha."
— P.V.R. Narasimha Rao
BPHS Chapter 87 — Krishna Chaturdashi Birth: 6-Part Analysis
Key Distinction
Unlike Amavasya (entire day is problematic), Krishna Chaturdashi has 6 parts, and only 5 of the 6 are inauspicious:
| Part (1/6th of tithi) | Result |
|---|---|
| 1st 1/6th | Auspicious — no dosha |
| 2nd 1/6th | Father suffers |
| 3rd 1/6th | Mother suffers |
| 4th 1/6th | Maternal uncle (mother's brother) suffers |
| 5th 1/6th | Entire family/lineage suffers (vamshanasanam) |
| 6th 1/6th | Wealth destroyed AND self destroyed — worst (all obstacles to personal agenda) |
How to Determine Which Part (Using Jagannatha Hora)
- Open Jagannatha Hora; check the tithi percentage remaining at time of birth
- Divide 100 by 6 = 16.6666% per part
- Mapping:
- 83.333–100% remaining = 1st part (auspicious)
- 66.666–83.333% = 2nd part
- 50–66.666% = 3rd part
- 33.333–50% = 4th part
- 16.666–33.333% = 5th part (worst for family)
- 0–16.666% = 6th part (worst for self)
- If percentage > 83.333% → no dosha; no shanti needed
PVNR's own chart example: Born April 4, 1970, 17:47:13 IST — Krishna Chaturdashi, 85.9999% remaining → 1st part → auspicious; no shanti needed.
Shanti for Krishna Chaturdashi Birth (Parts 2–6)
Step 1: Shiva Idol
- Chaturdashi is Shiva's favorite tithi → remedy is Shiva puja
- Make or acquire a beautiful Shiva idol:
- Gold (full karsha measure), or half, or quarter depending on affordability
- If no gold: copper idol with some gold added
- Crown: bala-chandra (crescent moon in hair)
- Clothes: white
- Mala: white flowers (white garland)
- Eyes: three (Trinetra)
- Seat: on a Nandi bull (Vrishabhasin)
- Hands: Vara mudra + Abhaya mudra
Step 2: Kalasha
- Same as Amavasya procedure — place in southeast corner of puja area
Step 3: Avahana and Mantras
- Trayambakam Yajamahe (Maha Mrityunjaya) — main mantra for entire puja
- Varunam mantras for avahana
- Agni mantras: Twanno Agne (Rigveda)
- Ano Bhadra Suktam + Bhadra Agneshcha Suktam
- Purusha Suktam
- Kadudraya Pratyahaseva mantra
Step 4: Abhishekam of Shiva
- Pour milk (or pancha amritas — milk, honey, curd, ghee, sugar) over Shiva idol
Step 5: Navagraha Puja
- Perform 9-graha puja; minimum 28 repetitions of each planet's mantra
Step 6: Homa
- Samidhas from specific trees: ashwatha, plaksha, pala, khadira
- Offering materials: ghee + charu + til (sesame) + urad dal + sarsapa (mustard seeds)
- Mantras: Trayambakam main + Kadudraya + Purusha Sukta + graha mantras
- Count: 108 times each (or 28 minimum)
Step 7: Abhishekam of Jataka + Dakshina + Bhojana
- Priest does abhishekam on the child (and parents) with charged kalasha water while reciting mantras
- Feed brahmanas with a pure, joyful heart (suddhi = pure, pleasant mind — do not be miserly)
- If this is done, the dosha is relieved
Dasha Seed Strength Comparison (Vimshottari Variants)
For death and suffering analysis (native, parent, sibling), the stronger Vimshottari variant may be more accurate:
| Dasha Variant | Seed (reference point) |
|---|---|
| Janma (standard) | Natal Moon nakshatra |
| Utpanna | 5th nakshatra from Moon |
| Adhana | Conception nakshatra (from Moon's position at conception) |
| Shyama | Some other seed nakshatra |
How to determine which is stronger: Count planets in Kendra positions from each seed nakshatra's Moon-equivalent position. The variant with most planets in Kendras is the strongest.
Rule:
- For Phala Shastra (general life results): always use Janma Vimshottari (standard from natal Moon)
- For Ayur Shastra (death, longevity, fatal illness): use whichever variant has the most planets in Kendras
In the example chart: Janma had 5 planets in Kendras → Janma is strongest → same Saturn-Saturn period confirmed for both purposes.
