Raj Yogas from Charakarakas

Navamsa placement of the AK matters most, because Navamsa is the dharma that guides you. But there are Raj Yogas from the karakas at the physical level too. The same yoga in the Rashi chart gives a rise in physical life; in Navamsa, a dharmic rise.

AK + PuK (Parasara's Raj Yoga)

Atmakaraka and Putrakaraka together in the Rashi chart = Raj Yoga. In the 1st or 5th house it makes a Maharaja.

• AK = your soul; PuK = souls that follow your soul
• People who take your orders physically are seen from lagna. PuK is following at the level of soul — a bond, possibly from past lives
• A soul that commands the blind following of other souls will rise
• In any other house there is still some following and some rise from it
• Not only for spiritual leaders: a politician's lieutenants may be bound to him in the same way

"When a soul follows your soul, that means that relationship is very strong. The bond is very strong. … Putrakaraka is basically your blind followers."

Vajpayee (Dec 25 1926, 5:10 AM IST, 78°E10, 26°N13):

• The birth year is disputed. The official year is 1924; PVNR uses 1926, the year his teacher uses.
• Scorpio lagna with Mercury and Saturn in it
• Mercury = AK → the core nature is flexible, and on the negative side indecisive. Mercury is like a child who adapts to his company: with Jupiter a good boy, with Saturn a bad boy
• Saturn = PuK, with the AK in lagna → Maharaja Yoga
• He became powerful through the following he commands, not through a godfather or an elder using his influence to lift him

AK + PiK (Jaimini's Raj Yoga)

Atmakaraka and Pitrukaraka together = Raj Yoga. In the 1st or 5th house it is very strong.

• PiK = a fatherly figure who guides you and loves you
• The two souls are in union; that soul has a bond with you from past lives and does you favours
• Rise comes through the blessings of those above you, not through followers

George W. Bush (Jul 6 1946, 7:35 AM, 4 hours west of GMT, New Haven, Connecticut — 72°W55, 41°N18):

• PVNR calls this data only partly rectified. The reported time is 7:25; he uses 7:35 and is not fully satisfied with it.
• Cancer lagna with Mercury, Venus and Saturn in it
• Venus = AK; Mercury = PiK — together in the 1st house → a particularly strong Raj Yoga
• His father was a powerful politician, and he rose through his father's influence

"Even George Bush was democratically elected, but he owes his career mainly to his father. That is what the chart suggests. On the other hand, Vajpayee owes his career to lot of followers that he has. That is the difference between Putrakaraka and Pitrukaraka."

It Is One-Way

A student asked whether the father's chart must show the same link. No. The favour one soul does another need not be two-way. It may mean nothing to the giver and the whole world to the receiver, so it may or may not show in the second chart. Bush Sr. did not rise because of his son.

For a guru and disciple such as Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and Vivekananda, do not use the Pitrukaraka — use the Bhratrikaraka.
