8th Lord in 5th House — Principle

In the rectified chart Saturn, lord of the 8th (Aquarius), sits in the 5th (Scorpio).

• The 8th lord goes to a good house. The 8th house is benefited. The 5th house is not.
• Here the 8th lord is a malefic. A malefic in a trine is not a good thing.
• A house shows resources — the treasures. A planet placed there gets them. A trine has good things to offer.
• Being the 8th lord, the planet uses them to do 8th-lord work.
• Malefics benefit the houses they own. They do not benefit the house they are in.

"The 8th house is benefited, but being the 8th lord in the 5th house, the 5th house is polluted by the presence of almost like terrorist kind of people."

• A student said an occupant who is a friend of the house lord does better. The teacher: it may be good, but here it is not.

The saving factor for remedies:

• The 5th lord is Mars. It is very strong — in its own sign Aries.
• Mars aspects the 5th house (8th-house graha dṛṣṭi on Scorpio, and rāśi dṛṣṭi too).

Divine Mother Blessing

Following Sanjay Rath's rules, the Divine Mother's blessing is read from Moon and Venus on the lagna:

1. Rāśi chart: Venus is in the lagna (Gemini). Moon in Virgo has rāśi dṛṣṭi on it.
2. D-20 (Viṁśāṁśa): Moon and Venus are both in the lagna (Sagittarius), with Saturn.

The third rule — Venus in the 4th from the Ātmakāraka in Navāṁśa — is the one the class applied to the 1957 chart (Part 4). It does not apply here: the Ātmakāraka is Jupiter, and Venus is with it in Scorpio navāṁśa.

Kali Upasana Indicators

In this chart:

• Rāśi: Saturn (Sagittarius) aspects Moon in Virgo by its 10th-house graha dṛṣṭi and by rāśi dṛṣṭi. Mars (Aquarius) aspects it by its 8th-house graha dṛṣṭi.
• D-20: Saturn is with Moon in the lagna.

Shadripu — The Six Weaknesses

• Addiction is a weakness. It comes under the 6th house — ṣaḍripu.

"Addiction can be a variety of kinds. A person may be addicted to jealousy or sex. Addiction is a weakness and comes in the 6th house, Shadripu."

• It all depends on which of the ṣaḍripus is at work. Then go to D-30 and D-11.
• Venus badly placed in D-11: weakness for women; troubled by a woman.
• Alcoholism: the 6th house and the 11th house are very important. Saturn should play a role.
• Why the 11th: Jaimini — the 6th house and the 6th from the 6th.

The Method, Recapped by the Teacher

1. Moon in the 6th house → a weakness.
2. For alcoholism Saturn should play a role: Saturn afflicts the 5th house in the rāśi chart and is in the 6th in Rudrāṁśa.
3. 6th from Amātyakāraka in Navāṁśa → Saturn. 4th lord in the rāśi chart → again connected with Saturn.
4. Remedy: Kali.
