Accusation Houses (10H from Lagna/AL/Moon), Amala Yoga, D10 Ownership vs Occupation & Vipareeta Rules

Accusation and reputation = 10th house (Mana = conduct in society, not popularity which is 5th house). Three references: 10th from Lagna = actual conduct (Rahu here = person actually did something wrong); 10th from AL (Arudha Lagna) = public perception (Rahu here = public scandal, may be false accusation); 10th from Moon = person's own mental relationship with reputation, guilt. Amala Yoga = only natural benefics (no malefics) occupying AND aspecting both the 10th from Lagna AND 10th from Moon = "unblemished reputation; nobody dares to accuse." Moon vs Lagna priority: when Moon has more planets with/aspecting it than Lagna, prioritize Moon as reference ("how his mind looks at things becomes important"); caveat = those planets should be benefics, not malefics. D10 house ownership vs occupation key principle: house owned by a planet = that planet's AGENDA (what it wants to do); house occupied = planet's ASSIGNMENT (resources placed at its command). 2nd lord in 12th = wants to give wealth but resources always flowing away — "wealth in rotation, lot coming and going, but can't fully enjoy." 12th lord in 2nd = planet wants to drain things but given all wealth at its command = wealth drained. D10 primary (not Rashi 10th lord) — Rashi 10th lord is the "seed" for D10 only; actual career karma is D10 chart. 6th lord in 12th = Vipareeta yoga (auspicious); only pure when NO 9th/10th lords are mixed in with the dusthana exchange.

"If the 10th from Arudha Lagna is afflicted, it is just the image. If the 10th house from Lagna itself contains Rahu, the person actually engaged in bad conduct. These two are very different. Both afflicted = did something bad AND got exposed."

Q&A — Dasamsa (D10) Interpretation

Amsa Rulers in D10

Question: When analyzing Amsa rulers (Dikpalas) in D10 — use from D10 or from Rashi chart?

PVNR's answer: D10 is primary; Rashi 10th lord is also considered as "seed" of D10.

"Even though the 10th lord of Rasi chart is important, he is the seed basically for Dasamsa. So you should consider him. But most important is Dasamsa itself."

Why Rashi 10th lord is insufficient:

  • Rashi 10th house = work + father's wealth + spouse's happiness + children's enemies + many other things
  • D10 10th house = ONLY the work you do; the chart specifically about karma
  • "If you go to Dashamsa, it is the chart of the work that you do. The Lagna lord there shows the beginning, the seed of the work."

7th lord in D10 in Varuna Amsa: Particularly favorable for business/commerce

House Ownership vs Occupation (Key Principle)

Analogy: Planet in 2nd house vs 2nd lord

"The house owned by the planet is the planet's agenda — what it WANTS to do. The house occupied by the planet is what it is ASKED to do — the resources placed at its command."

CombinationInterpretation
2nd lord in 2nd housePlanet wants to give wealth + has wealth at command → maximum wealth
2nd lord in 12th housePlanet wants to give wealth BUT is placed where all resources flow away → wealth comes but is always being spent/invested/rotating
12th lord in 2nd housePlanet wants to make you lose things + given all your wealth at command → wealth is drained

"A planet in the 2nd house doesn't mean you have resources. It means your resources are at the planet's command to further its agenda."

"2nd lord in 12th = wealth always in rotation. Lot of money coming and also going. May have resources but can't use them fully. Like having 10 cars but they're always in other people's garages."

Q&A — Accusation and Reputation (10th House Analysis)

Topic: When someone is accused of something, which house to see?

Accusation = a blot on conduct/character10th house

  • "Parashara calls 10th house 'Mana' — meaning respect and character. How you conduct yourself in society."
  • 5th house = popularity and following (different from reputation)
  • 10th house = overall good name, conduct, respect level

Three Reference Points for Accusation

ReferenceWhat it shows
10th from LagnaActual conduct — whether the person genuinely did something wrong
10th from AL (Arudha Lagna)Public perception — whether it appears as accusation/scandal in the world
10th from MoonPerson's own mental relationship with their reputation; whether they feel guilty
CombinationInterpretation
Rahu afflicts 10th from LagnaPerson actually did something bad
Rahu afflicts 10th from ALFalse accusation or public scandal (not necessarily reality)
Both 10th from Lagna AND AL afflictedPerson did something bad AND it got exposed
10th from Moon afflictedPerson's mind troubled by reputation — guilt, even if publicly known or unknown

"If the Arudha Lagna is afflicted, it is just a reflection of the image. If the 10th house from Lagna itself contains Rahu, that shows the person actually engaged in bad conduct."

Amala Yoga

Definition: Only natural benefics (no malefics) in the 10th house from Lagna AND 10th house from Moon

Result: Unblemished reputation — "Nobody dares to accuse him"

Grades:

  • Perfect Amala: benefics occupying + benefics aspecting both 10th houses; no malefics occupying or aspecting
  • Secondary: at least one benefic occupying each 10th house, no malefics occupying (even if aspected)
  • "Even an empty 10th is not ideal — you want at least one benefic."

"When 10th from Moon and 10th from Lagna are both clean — neither have you done anything wrong, nor do you feel any blemish on your reputation. You are at peace."

Moon vs Lagna as Reference Point

When to prioritize Moon as reference:

  • When Moon is strong (many planets with it + aspecting it)
  • "If Moon is with 3 planets and Lagna has only 1 planet — Moon is definitely stronger"
  • Strong Moon = active mind → "how his mind looks at things becomes very important"

What Moon reference shows:

  • 10th from Moon = karma of the mind
  • 5th from Moon = his view of his own popularity/power
  • 6th from Moon = his view of his enemies

Caveat: "Those planets should not be malefics. If they are, instead of making Moon strong, they make it weak."

"Stick to Lagna generally, but when Moon is strong, give more importance to Moon than Lagna."

6th Lord in 12th — Vipareeta Yoga

6th lord in 12th = auspicious (one form of Vipareeta Yoga) 6th and 12th lord exchange = even better (stronger Vipareeta)

Critical caveat: Only if the planets involved are ONLY dusthana lords. "If the 6th and 12th lord who are exchanging also have the 9th lord or 10th lord along with them, it spoils the Vipareeta Yoga. If only dusthana lords are involved in exchange or conjunction, it is very auspicious."
