Result Exchange Rule, Vipreeta Raja Yoga & Arudha Pada Analysis
Result exchange rule: when two planets are in exact conjunction, they exchange results. Exact conditions for Vipreeta Raj Yoga (6L in 6H, 8L in 8H, 12L in 12H) — when it gives actual raja yoga vs when it simply protects from harm. Arudha Pada analysis from TP annual chart: lord of any Arudha in kendra/trine from lagna = that Arudha flourishes. A2 (2nd Arudha) in 11H = public seen as wealthy. A4 lord in 8H/12H = troubled residence.
"Only benefics in 3rd and 6th from Arudha Lagna = true saint. No enmity, no aggressive instinct. This person walks away from conflict."
— P.V.R. Narasimha Rao

Result Exchange Rule — Conjunct Planets
(Reviewed from earlier lesson, applied to dasha analysis)
- When multiple planets conjoin, arrange in order of beneficence (most benefic → most malefic)
- Most benefic gives result of most malefic; most malefic gives result of most benefic
- Middle planet (if odd count) gives its own results
- Example: Jupiter + Mercury + Mars together
- Order: Jupiter (benefic) → Mercury (neutral) → Mars (malefic)
- Jupiter gives Mars results; Mars gives Jupiter results; Mercury gives own results
- In Jupiter's dasha: Mars results manifest (trouble, 8th house significations)
- In Mars's dasha: Jupiter results manifest (relief, benefic results)
Vipreeta Raj Yoga — Exact Conditions
When VRY Applies
- Dusthana lord in a dusthana — but ONLY if:
- The dusthana lord is alone in the dusthana, OR
- The dusthana lord is with only other dusthana lords (lords of 6H, 8H, or 12H)
- VRY does NOT apply if the dusthana lord is conjoined with a lord of a benefic house (kendra or trikona lord)
Example
- Mars (8L) in 12H — if alone or with 6L/12L: VRY applies (sudden rise after troubles)
- Mars (8L) in 12H conjoined with Moon (7L, kendra lord): VRY does NOT apply because Moon is a kendra lord
Arudha Pada Analysis — Key Rules
3rd and 6th from AL (reviewed)
- See Part 1 above
2nd from AL — Nourishment of Image
- The 2nd from AL feeds/nourishes the image in people's minds
- Benefic in 2H from AL = person is seen as intelligent, religious, resourceful
- Malefic in 2H from AL = person is seen as aggressive, dangerous, using force; image suffers
- Malefic in 2nd from AL: especially bad if that planet is also functionally malefic (check from lagna lordship)
10th from AL — Nature of Karma in Public Eye
- Rahu in 10H from AL = person is seen as cunning, scheming, machinating
- Good for mafia/underworld; bad for saints/public figures
- During Rahu dasha, person is perceived as executing a successful scheme
A4 (Arudha of 4th House) — Place of Residence
- 4H = sukha (comfort, intangible); A4 = physical place you live in (tangible manifestation)
- A4 in 8H/12H from lagna = troubled place of residence; displacement possible
- A4 lord in 8H or 12H from lagna = suffering relating to home/residence
- Both A4 in dusthana AND A4 lord in dusthana = certain trouble (e.g., being forced to live somewhere unwanted — like jail)
General Arudha Rules
- Lord of any Arudha in kendra or trine from lagna = that Arudha flourishes; promoted during its dasha
- Lord of any Arudha in 8H or 12H from lagna = that Arudha suffers; problems in that area
- Do NOT look at lordships from Arudha padas — look only at planet placements and house positions from Arudha
- Do NOT look at AL lord placement from AL — always reference from lagna
- A5 (Arudha of 5th) = following, popularity
- A10 = Rajapada/Karmapada (karma/career image); A6 = image in conflict/service
Tapasya Yoga (from TP chart)
- Venus + Saturn + Ketu in mutual trines = austere, dedicated, selfless spiritual pursuit
- When Hora Lord is involved in Tapasya Yoga → that year will bring great sadhana/tapasya
