- Lagna lord — basic essence and vitality of the person
- Saturn — karaka for longevity, endurance, struggle
- 8th lord — direct ruler of the house of lifespan
- 10th lord — if big karma awaits, the native tends to live longer
Also important: Moon (karaka of sustenance/body/mind) and Jupiter (= Jiva = life-force)

Interpretation Principles
Why verse 9 is impossible: For every lagna, the 8th lord's debilitation point is never in the same sign as lagna itself. Either the verse is corrupt (likely), or it implies unequal house systems where 8th house cusp can fall in lagna sign, or it originally said "debilitated planet + 8th lord" (not 8th lord debilitated).
Verse 5 — "and" vs "or": Parashara did not explicitly say and/or. PVNR's interpretation: some of them (2-3 of the 4) being in Kendra/Trikona/11th is required for confident long life prediction. One alone = only ~40% confidence.
Verse 13 — lagna lord extremely strong: Most important factor. If lagna lord is extremely strong, it can uplift the entire chart irrespective of other weaknesses. Even if this specific verse's full conditions aren't met, an extremely strong lagna lord with supporting benefics = very high probability of long life.
Role of Jupiter (= Jiva = Life): Even though not the karaka for longevity like Saturn, Jupiter's name means "life-force." Jupiter in 8th, 1st, or 10th house can confer long life because he blesses those longevity-related houses.
