Philosophical Principles Behind Verses
Verse 3 — Why Venus in 9th shows father is rich:
- Jupiter (Sattvic planet) in 9th = fortune in a Sattvic/spiritual way
- Venus (Rajasic planet) in 9th = fortune in a Rajasic/material way → fortune comes from father or fatherly figures
- "You don't need to memorize all combinations. Understand the philosophy."
Verse 4 — Why 2nd and 4th from 9th:
- 9th house = father's lagna (reference point for father)
- 2nd from 9th = father's movable wealth (liquid assets, bank balance)
- 4th from 9th = father's immovable property (land, houses)
- Mars mentioned as example; Saturn, Rahu, Ketu also apply as natural malefics
Verse 8 — 9th lord in 11th house: 11th = house of friends; 9th lord (father significator) in 11th = father is like a friend to the native; also Sun = karaka of father, so Sun in deep exaltation amplifies the good result
Verse 9 — 9th lord in 7th house: 7th = house of interactions and partners; 9th lord there = father is treated as a close partner; father like a friend; Jupiter's association makes it auspicious
Verse 10 — Why 32nd year: Not explained in classics. PVNR: "I can't crack it, but the parivartana of 2nd and 9th lords is obviously a good combination for fortune."
Important Caveats (PVNR)
- D12 is essential for father readings: Parasara himself specified Dvadasamsa (D12) for parents. Don't make father predictions from Rasi alone.
- 9th from Sun also important for father analysis (9th house from Sun's position)
- These combinations should be verified in multiple charts before acting on them
- Philosophy > memorization: Understand why the planet is there; don't rote-memorize combinations that may not hold in isolation
