George W. Bush — SCD D10 Analysis: 2004 Election & 2003 Iraq War

Bush's 2004 election analyzed through Sudarshan Chakra Dasha in D10 (Dasamsa): all three chakras (Lagna, Moon, Sun) analyzed for the year 2004. Bush is 58 years old → running his 59th year (SCD counts completed years). Iraq War 2003 decision: which SCD sign was running and what the three chakras show about that decision. Bush's 2005-2006 public support decline: how the SCD dasha shift shows the turning of public perception (Chandra-chakra) against him even while the Lagna-chakra still indicates activity.

"In Sudarshan Chakra Dasha, you count COMPLETED years, then you are running the next year. Born 1946 → completed 58 years → running his 59th year in 2004."

— P.V.R. Narasimha Rao

Class Announcements (Context)

PVNR mentioned a SJC Boston Jyotish Workshop at Clock Tower Place, Maynard, MA on October 15–16 (approximate year: 2005 based on class content). Four speakers:

  1. PVNR — original research on a generalized Shri Pravesha technique for finding important years
  2. Narayan — distinction between house / house lord / house arudha / planet arudha
  3. Raghunath Sownamani — Kashyapa Hora Nadi principles (Prashna technique from Maharshi Kashyapa; learned from Sri Adi Rao → Sri Ramdas Rao → Raghunath); Raghunath is from Karnataka, expert in Nadi astrology
  4. Brendan Feely — Trimshamsa (D30) + Ayurveda + health; former university professor, practicing astrologer and Ayurvedic doctor

BA/MA Jyotish Program: Being offered jointly by Sri Jagannath Centre (SJC) + Kanpur University (UGC-accredited). First-year BA exam: basics + Sanskrit. Students in Boston area (minimum 4 needed to make a center). Exams also in Serbia and Singapore. MA program (2nd year) allows direct entry by entrance test OR for those who authored one published Jyotish book.

Aji Rao (pen name "Meena"): Famous South Indian Nadi astrologer from decades earlier; wrote early Nadi astrology classics; his concepts influenced Krishnamurthi Paddhati (KP system). Sri Ramdas Rao (Kuwait) learned from him.

Example Chart 1 — George W. Bush, 2004 Election (D10)

Finding the Dasha

In 2004 (year July 6, 2004 to July 6, 2005):

  • Born 1946 → completed 58 years → running 59th year
  • 59 mod 12: remove 48 (largest multiple of 12 ≤ 59) → 11th house dasha

D10 chart (Dasamsa = career, actions in society):

  • D10 Lagna = Cancer
  • 11th house from Lagna (Cancer) = Taurus (Lagna Chakra dasha sign)
  • Sun and Moon are together in this D10 → 11th from Moon AND 11th from Sun = Libra

SC Dasha for 2004: Taurus / Libra / Libra (Lagna-chakra / Chandra-chakra / Surya-chakra)

Analysis: Surya Chakra (Libra) — Public Support for 2004 Election

Since we want to see how many souls cooperate with Bush's soul (will people elect him?), focus on Surya dasha sign = Libra. Taking Libra as lagna in the entry chart:

PlanetNaturePlacement from LibraAssessment
SunBenefic (in friendly house = Sagittarius; Jupiter is friend of Sun)3rd houseBorderline — 3rd is neutral/bad for benefic, but Sun is benefic here
JupiterBenefic5th house (Aquarius)Extremely well-placed — 5th is trine, Jupiter loves trikonas; Aquarius is one of Jupiter's better signs (with Scorpio)
KetuMaleficBadly placedBad
VenusBenefic9th house (Gemini)Excellent — 9th is trikona
MercuryTakes nature of Venus (stronger planet, in friend's house; Moon is enemy/weaker)9th houseGood — in trikona with Venus
MoonMalefic (Krishna Paksha)9th houseBad — malefic in 9th (not 3/6/11)
MarsMalefic, debilitated (in Cancer = 10th from Libra)10th houseTerrible — malefic in 10th AND debilitated
RahuMalefic11th houseGood position (counts as well-placed) — but note some 11th house destruction
SaturnMaleficOwn sign (Capricorn = 4th from Libra)By thumb rules = bad (4th, not 3/6/11); but by judgment: in own sign + quadrant, not terrible

Simple count: Good = Jupiter, Venus, Mercury, Rahu (~4); Bad = Ketu, Moon, Mars, Sun, Saturn (~5) More bad planets than good — yet he won. Why?

Yogas Override the Count

From Libra:

  • 9th lord Mercury + 10th lord Moon + 1st lord Venus all conjoined in 9th house: 9th-10th lord conjunction = supreme Raj Yoga (Lakshmi's blessing). 1st + 9th conjunction = another Raj Yoga. All in the house of fortune.
  • Jupiter in 5th aspecting 9th, 11th: 3rd/6th lord (Jupiter from Libra owns Sagittarius=3rd, Pisces=6th) in 5th house = link between 3rd, 5th, and 6th houses → intelligence to destroy enemies; warrior yogas
  • Saturn in own sign (Capricorn): Shasaya Mahapurusha Yoga; 4th/5th lord of Libra in own sign = strong power/recognition
  • 5th house (Aquarius): Jupiter in 5th blessing it; Saturn (yogakaraka as 4th+5th lord?) supporting 5th house strength

Conclusion: The Raj Yogas (9th+10th+1st lords together in 9th) are so powerful that they override the count imbalance. When the karmasthana and bhagya lords gang together in fortune, a career cannot have a death blow during that year. Bush won by 3% popular vote — a solid mandate compared to 2000.

Kerry had even worse placements (shown next), making the comparison decisive.

Example Chart 2 — John Kerry, 2004 Election (D10)

Finding the Dasha

In 2004 (election year starting Dec 11, 2003 — Kerry's birthday is December):

  • Born 1943 → at time of election (Nov 2004), he had finished 60 years, running 61st year
  • 61 mod 12 = 61 − 60 = 1st house dasha

D10 Sun in Pisces → 1st house from Surya Chakra = Pisces SC Dasha 2004 (Surya Chakra): Pisces

Analysis: Surya Chakra (Pisces) — Public Support for 2004 Election

Taking Pisces as lagna in the entry chart for the year starting Dec 2003:

PlanetNaturePlacement from PiscesAssessment
SunBenefic (in friend's house)1st house (Pisces)Good — benefic in lagna
MoonMalefic (Krishna Paksha)1st house (Pisces)Bad — malefic in lagna
JupiterBenefic2nd houseNeutral (2nd not explicitly bad by Parashara)
MercuryBenefic (alone)3rd houseBad — benefic in 3rd
KetuMalefic4th houseBad
VenusBenefic6th houseVery bad — benefic in 6th (Marana Karaka Sthana?)
SaturnMalefic9th houseTerrible — malefic in 9th
MarsMalefic10th houseTerrible
RahuMalefic10th houseTerrible — Mars + Rahu together

Count: 7 bad, 1 good (Sun), 1 neutral (Jupiter)

Yogas (All Bad)

  • Amavasya Yoga in Lagna (Sun + Moon together): On Amavasya, Sun and Moon exactly conjoin. Whenever Sun and Moon are together in any house = Amavasya Yoga. Bad for material success and career — pulls down that house. Not as catastrophic as Mars-Rahu, but significantly weakening.
  • Mars-Rahu Yoga in 10th (Karma sthana): "Kuja-Rahu yoga" = fire + air = destroys the house. Parashara said Rahu destroys wherever he sits. With Mars there too, 10th house is devastated. 9th lord (Mars) and Rahu in 10th = bhagya also destroyed. Terrible karma/career yoga.
  • No Raj Yogas: No 9th-10th lord conjunction; no 1st-9th lord conjunction; nothing.
  • 5th-6th lord in Lagna: This would normally give intelligence to destroy enemies (5th-6th link). But spoiled by Amavasya yoga — he tried (late campaign push, benefiting from strong anti-Bush sentiment) but the effort was confused and ultimately insufficient.
  • Mars-Jupiter Parivartana (Mars in Jupiter's sign, Jupiter in Mars's sign): Mars acts as if he is Jupiter in own house → Hamsa yoga effect in 10th. Provides some rescue. "They won't go down without fighting." But Rahu in 10th overrules — Rahu enjoys fighting even more when Mars becomes Jupiter.

Conclusion: No comparison to Bush's chart. Kerry's 2004 entry chart shows a death-blow year for career. 7-of-9 planets badly placed. All yogas negative. Bush's chart had supreme Raj Yogas involving fortune/karma lords. PVNR and Sanjay Rath concluded (in their combined rectification day) that Bush would win; Sanjay then changed his public statement at a New York event to please the Kerry-supporter audience — a lesson in how social pressure can override astrological judgment.

Bush's Public Support Decline — 2005–2006 (Surya Chakra)

Dasha: Scorpio (from Surya Chakra)

For the year July 6, 2005 – July 6, 2006:

Taking Scorpio as lagna in the Surya entry chart:

PlanetPlacementNotes
SunNeutral
MoonBadly placedMalefic, not in 3/6/11
KetuWell placed
SaturnDebilitated, 6th houseTrying to destroy opposition but cannot; debilitated malefic in 6th = hard effort without success
Mars8th houseTerrible — Mars in 8th = sudden fall/death-like
Rahu9th houseBadly placed (destroys bhagya/fortune)
Venus + Mercury10th houseVenus = 7th lord from Scorpio; Mercury = 8th+11th lord. 7th and 8th lord conjunction = death-like situation
JupiterBad position6th/12th = bad

Count: 4 good (Venus, Mercury, Saturn, Ketu), 5 bad

Critical Yogas (Bad):

  • Mars in 8th: Sudden fall. Mars or Rahu in 8th = "death" (sudden catastrophic reversal in public support)
  • Rahu in 9th: 9th house (fortune/public luck) hammered by Rahu. Rahu destroys 9th. Bush's natal chart has very strong 9th house — he is "a lucky person, when chips are down something reverses." But this year: no luck. Anything sudden will be bad.
  • 9th lord Moon: afflicted by Ketu (nodal eclipse). Both 9th house AND 9th lord under nodal affliction = fortune completely runs out. Karma catches up unexpectedly.
  • Debilitated Saturn in 6th: Works hard to destroy opposition (tries to fight back against bad ratings) but cannot succeed. This is the "trying-but-failing" signature.
  • 7th + 8th lord conjunction in 10th (Venus + Mercury): Not a Raj Yoga — actually a Mrityu Yoga (death-like for the 10th house). Career/reputation takes a death blow.

Conclusion: The year shows a dramatic sudden fall in public support. Karma catching up. Everything the natal chart relied on (luck, public support) is dried up or turned against him. Bush's approval ratings historically crashed in 2005 (post-Iraq occupation collapse, Hurricane Katrina, etc.).

Next Year Dasha: Sagittarius (from Surya Chakra, 2006–2007)

  • Jupiter in 4th house: Hamsa Mahapurusha Yoga — some comfort and relaxation
  • 12th lord in 12th house: Vipareeta Raja Yoga (some unexpected benefit from loss)
  • But: Sun + Rahu in Lagna = terrible (Sun afflicted by Rahu in lagna = bad omen)
  • Moon in 7th: 8th lord in 7th house + nodal affliction (Ketu nearby) = death-like suffering in popular perception
  • Both luminaries (Sun + Moon) under nodal affliction = very bad signal

Conclusion: Even 2006–2007 does not show recovery. Bush will be more relaxed (Jupiter in 4th = inner comfort) but public support remains very bad. He "resigns himself" to the situation. If this were a cricketer, this would look like career retirement; but since he is in power till 2008, the prediction is simply continued bad ratings. The nodes on the luminaries in Lagna and 7th suggest major unexpected negative events.

PVNR: "Just because one year is bad, you can't conclude it's bad forever. In politics, one day somebody may be hated by 70% of America, but next year he may be a hero."

— PVNR
