Multiple Spouses & Children in D7/D9 — Sequential vs Simultaneous, Abortion Indicators

Sequential marriages: 7th house = 1st spouse; 8th from 7th (= 2nd house) = 2nd spouse; 8th from there = 3rd, etc. Simultaneous: 6th from 7th (= 12th house) = 2nd ongoing relationship; 6th from there = 3rd. Children from each marriage: 1st child = 11th from that marriage's house (odd = forward; even = backward). Every conceived child counts, including those lost. Natural miscarriage = Mars indicator; induced abortion = Rahu indicator. Lagna lord of D7 involved with Rahu in maraka from child's sign = person made the abortion decision; 7th lord involved = spouse decided. Guru Bindu (midpoint of Moon and Rahu): progress at 3°/year; when it contacts natal sensitive points, significant events triggered. Ketu in 8th = long life + undiagnosable health problems + occult intuition. Rahu's graha drishti aspects: 5th, 7th, and 9th houses (same as Jupiter). 2nd house = right eye organ; 12th house = left eye; 10th house = vision ability; 3rd = ears; 11th = hearing ability.

"Every conceived child shows up in the chart as a count — we do not distinguish between children who survived and those who did not. Every child conceived is a child in the chart."

— P.V.R. Narasimha Rao

Guru Bindu — Progressed Midpoint (Informal Discussion)

Guru Bindu (Mudupindu):

  • Midpoint of Moon's longitude and Rahu's longitude
  • "Moon is the mind; Rahu is what talks about you (the Atman aspiration)"
  • Traditional practice: progress this point by 3 degrees per year; when it touches important natal positions, significant events are triggered

PVNR's experimental approach:

  • Instead of linear progression, progress it non-linearly using Vimshottari proportion
  • Cover 360° in one year but apportion the degrees to each nakshatra based on its Vimshottari year-count
    • Ashwini (7 years) = 7 × 3 = 21° of the total
    • Bharani (20 years) = 20 × 3 = 60° of the total
  • Within each nakshatra, further subdivide non-linearly into 9 antardasha portions
  • Result: a "Prabhagi Vimshottari" progression of the special point
  • "When it works, it gives the exact date. When it doesn't, you have to use something else. Hit or miss — but when it works, it is 100% accurate."

Other midpoints that can be progressed:

  • Lagna-Ketu, Lagna-Saturn midpoints for various themes
  • "I found some midpoints are consistent; sahamas are less consistent"

Multiple Spouses — Counting in Navamsha and Saptamsha

Sequential Marriages (One Ended, Then Another Began)

Rule: Take 8th from current spouse's sign to find the next spouse

PositionShows
7th house1st spouse (first marriage/relationship)
8th from 7th = 2nd house2nd spouse (after 1st marriage ended)
8th from 2nd = 9th house3rd spouse
8th from 9th = 4th house4th spouse
Even-numbered spouses2nd house, 4th house, 6th house, 8th house (same pattern)

"You keep taking the 8th house, 8th, 8th, 8th — that gives sequential marriages."

Simultaneous Marriages (First Still Exists When Second Begins)

Rule: Take 6th from current spouse's sign (= adding, augmenting, not ending)

PositionShows
7th house1st wife/husband
6th from 7th = 12th house2nd wife (while 1st still exists)
6th from 12th = 5th house3rd wife (while others still exist)

"This counting is always forward. Taking the 6th house = augmenting, increasing."

Key distinction:

  • "She left" or "he died" → take 8th (relationship ended)
  • "Still together, but added another" → take 6th (relationship ongoing, added more)
  • Complicated mixed cases: "I am not fully sure of all edge cases — experiment with charts"

In Navamsha (for spouse's nature/qualities):

  • Same counting principle applies: 7th house = 1st spouse, 8th from 7th = 2nd spouse, etc.
  • "After you determine which marriage (1st, 2nd, 3rd), take that house as lagna and analyze: career, appearance, background, parental relationship of that spouse"

Children from Multiple Marriages — D7 (Saptamsha)

Counting Children from Each Marriage

Step 1: Identify which house shows the marriage in D7

  • 7th house = 1st marriage/relationship
  • 2nd house = 2nd relationship (8th from 7th)
  • 9th house = 3rd relationship
  • 4th house = 4th relationship

Step 2: Find the 1st child from that marriage

  • "1st child = 11th from the sign showing that marriage"
  • Count direction: odd sign → count 11th forward; even sign → count 11th backward

Examples (from Book2):

  • Cancer lagna in D7; 7th house = Capricorn (1st wife); Capricorn is even → count 11 backward = Pisces → 1st child from 1st wife
  • 2nd wife from 8th from 7th = Leo (odd) → count 11 forward = Gemini → 1st child from 2nd wife
  • 3rd wife from 8th from Leo = Pisces (even) → count 11 backward = Taurus → 1st child from 3rd wife

Simultaneous affair (2nd relationship while 1st ongoing):

  • 12th house shows 2nd relationship; 11th from 12th = 10th house → 1st child from affair (if 12th is odd: go forward)

Key rule from D7 (Book2):

  • "If lagna lord of D7 is in Maraka sthana from child's sign and Rahu influences → father involved in termination (abortion)"
  • "If 7th lord of D7 is in Maraka sthana from child's sign → wife/partner involved in abortion"

Natural Abortion vs Induced Abortion

Mars → natural, hemorrhagic miscarriage Rahu → artificial, induced abortion; Rahu also = "unusual means by which something is ended"

Determining who decided:

  • Lagna lord of D7 involved with Rahu or in Maraka sthana → native (the person whose chart it is) made the decision
  • 7th lord (spouse) involved → the partner made the decision
  • Both involved → both agreed

Practical advice:

  • "Don't hesitate to ask when you are sure. In my experience there were several cases where I asked and the person confirmed — or at first denied and later confirmed."
  • Things that are unpleasant to remember, people tend to forget; some abortions are not clearly remembered even by the parents

Important note: Any conceived child (even abortion) shows up in the chart as a count. "We don't distinguish between children who survived and those who didn't. Every child conceived is a child in the chart."

Ketu in 8th House

Effect:

  • Long life (Ketu in 8th shows longevity)
  • BUT health problems that are tough to diagnose ("undiagnosable, weird problems")
  • Interest in occult subjects, intuition
  • "When Ketu transits the 8th house from natal rashi, there will be lot of spiritual experiences"

"Ketu in 8th is not all good or bad. On the bad side: health problems hard to diagnose. On the good side: occult abilities, intuition, long life."

Eyes and Vision — House Correspondences

Physical Organs vs Function

HouseShows
2nd housePhysical right eye (organ itself)
12th housePhysical left eye
10th house (= 9th from 2nd)Vision/eyesight ability — the "dharma" of the eyes
  • "2nd house afflicted → eye problems (the organ)"
  • "10th house afflicted → vision problems (the function/clarity of sight)"
  • "If 2nd house has malefics and 10th is also affected, both the eye and vision will suffer"

For eyeglasses:

  • "If you are wearing high-power glasses, you must have an affliction to the 10th house or 10th lord"
  • Check dashas: the period when vision problems began should link to 10th house planets

Hearing — House Correspondences

HouseShows
3rd housePhysical ears (organ)
11th house (= 9th from 3rd)Hearing ability — "dharma of the ears"
  • "3rd and 11th should be in harmony and strong for good hearing"
  • "If 11th is badly afflicted by malefics, there will be hearing problems"

Rahu's Aspects (Graha Drishti)

Rahu aspects the same houses as Jupiter:

  • 5th, 7th, and 9th houses from Rahu

"Rahu aspects 5th, 7th, and 9th — like Jupiter."

Key implication: Rahu in Aries has 9th house aspect on Sagittarius → strong close aspect possible
