Rahu's Nature
- Rahu = materialism / bhoga (experience of pleasure, worldly enjoyment)
- Rahu wants to eclipse Moon (the mind) — by eclipsing the mind, he increases material desire
- Therefore: Rahu is most effective in Moon-related signs and houses
- Signs Rahu loves: Cancer (Karka), Leo (Simha), Virgo (Kanya) — all three; Cancer is his favorite
- "In Cancer, he's like a thug who goes to the house of the priest he wants to kill — he feels powerful and ready"
- Even though Cancer (Moon's sign) is "inimical" by natural disposition, Rahu thrives there
- Rahu in Simha (Leo) lagna: Irrespective of other factors, capable of giving raja yoga on its own
Ketu's Nature
- Ketu = moksha / liberation
- Ketu wants to eclipse Sun (the atma — soul-identity)
- The logic: For moksha, even self-identification as a "separate atma" must dissolve
- Material pleasure (Moon) must dissolve → Rahu handles that
- Even the sense "I am a separate soul" must dissolve → Ketu handles that

Step 1 — Identify the correct karaka and house:

- Definition: 12th lord placed in the 12th house itself
- Named after Vimana (celestial vehicle/airplane) — indicating travel, elevation, completion
- The planet in this yoga cannot escape the 12th house matters — must deal with them fully
- But in doing so, it becomes master of those 12H matters: foreign lands, liberation, completion, letting go
- In D10 (career chart): Vimana yoga = finishing the work of career from behind the scenes; institutional or foreign career completion

Malefics in 12H from AL — Raj Yoga
Parashara's rule (cited by PVNR):
- Malefics (Saturn, Rahu) in the 12th from Arudha Lagna = Raj Yoga (gives raja/status/fame)
- Why: Malefic in 12H from AL = person appears to be "giving up suffering, giving up malice, giving up tensions"
- That image of renouncing suffering = good public perception = Raj Yoga
- "He seems to be giving up malice, giving up tensions — so people think he is so happy"
- Benefics in 12H from AL = person appears to be losing wisdom/fortune = BAD (opposite of Raj Yoga)
- Benefics in 1st or 2nd from AL = good (resources and substance of image are beneficial)
