D10 Career Analysis — Amshas, Combustion & Antardasha Reading
Deep D10 analysis: Venus in Varuna amsha → procurement/micromanagement. Combustion rules (Venus+Sun = worst, Mars+Sun = not bad). Result-exchange rule for conjunct planets: most benefic exchanges with most malefic. Saturn antardasha actually gives Venus results (and vice versa). Applied to a detailed career history from 1971–2002.

Example Chart
D-10 Career Chart: Detailed Analysis
D-10 Lagna Rectification
- Original time (10:55 AM): gives Libra lagna in D-10
- Adjusted time (10:52 AM, ~3 min earlier): gives Virgo lagna in D-10
- Evidence for Virgo: Mars in 8th house from Virgo = Aries → sudden unexpected layoffs (Aries = sign of sudden developments, Mars = soldier with sudden changes)
Career During Venus Dasha (Libra D-10, then Virgo)
Venus in Varuna Amsha:
- Varuna = ruler of western direction (like Saturn)
- Varuna signifies: patience, perseverance, dealing with many people, planning, trading/procurement
- Shows: micromanagement, material planning, procurement, dealing with suppliers
Comparison: Sun vs. Venus Management Style:
- Sun = macro management (sit in the chair, delegate, like a king)
- Venus = micromanagement (detailed planning, going through each task, project management, procurement management)
Venus in Artha Trikona (2, 6, 10) connection:
- For a stable service career, the dasha lord must connect with Artha Trikona (2nd, 6th, 10th)
- With Virgo lagna: Venus = 2nd lord in 2nd house with 6th lord Saturn → both 2nd and 6th Artha Trikona lords together in 2nd house
- Also has Rashi Drishti on 10th house Mercury → all 3 Artha Trikona houses connected
- This makes more sense than Libra lagna (where Venus would only have Argala on 10th)
Combustion Rules (D-10 Context)
Any planet near Sun = combust = "burning" near the king:
- Planet near king loses its independence, cannot act freely
- Venus + Sun: Very bad — Venus is Jala Tattva (water), Sun is Agni Tattva (fire) → water evaporates. Also mythological: Parashurama (Venus) loses power near Rama (Sun)
- Jupiter + Sun: Less bad — Jupiter is the priest, can advise the king, can be authoritative in a different way
- Mars + Sun: Not bad — Mars is the army chief, can dictate military terms to the king; both are Agni Tattva
- Saturn + Sun: Very bad — father and son who are enemies; Saturn is rebel against Sun
- Rahu/Ketu + Sun: Worst — causes eclipse; for politicians, Rahu/Ketu eclipsing Sun in annual chart = potential loss of power
Debilitated Sun reduces combustion strength (combust planet less weak when Sun is debilitated)
Career During Saturn Dasha (1985–1993)
- Saturn in Yama Amsha → routine work with no passion; just doing what must be done
- Saturn = planet of labor, odd jobs, hard work; can do anything but without joy
- Confirmed: Student did several odd jobs during Saturn dasha after coming to USA
Career During Rahu Dasha (1993–2002)
Rahu in Indra Amsha:
- Indra = power, authority, leadership → some influence at the workplace
- BUT Rahu is in 12th house (dusthana) from Virgo lagna → Vipreeta Raj Yoga
- Vipreeta Raj Yoga = 6th/8th/12th lord in dusthana alone → reversal: first bad then suddenly good
- Rahu = 6th lord in 12th house → September 1992–October 1993 was the low point
- Then Rahu-Rahu-Moon: Moon in Lagna of D-10 = fresh start → new career in computer networking
Why computers? Rahu and Ketu = planets of high-tech, computers, electronics, technology
Key principle: The specific antardasha (and pratyantardasha) must perfectly explain the event. Pratyantardasha must be the sharpest indicator.
Amshas confirming career theme:
- Venus in Varuna amsha = dealing with people, procurement
- Rahu in Indra amsha = high-tech, some authority
- Saturn in Yama amsha = routine, duty-oriented, disciplined

Result Exchange Rule for Conjunct Planets
When Multiple Planets Are Together in D-10
The Rule: When 3 or more planets are conjunct, arrange them from most benefic to most malefic. Then the first (most benefic) exchanges results with the last (most malefic), second exchanges with second-from-last, etc. Middle planet (if odd number) gives its own results.
Order from most to least benefic: Jupiter → Venus → Mercury → Moon → Sun → Mars → Saturn → Rahu/Ketu
Example in this chart (Sun, Venus, Saturn conjunct in 2nd house from Virgo lagna):
- Order: Venus (most benefic) → Sun → Saturn (most malefic)
- Venus ↔ Saturn exchange → Venus gives Saturn's results; Saturn gives Venus's results
- Sun = alone in middle → gives his own results
Implication for D-10 antardasha reading:
- Venus antardasha = actually gives Saturn's results (layoffs, breaks in career) → 2 layoffs in late 2000 and April 2001 happened during Venus antardasha
- Saturn antardasha = actually gives Venus's results (stable, career-supporting) → the Saturn antardasha period after the layoffs was actually better
7th Lord as Maraka for Service
- 6th house = service (Artha Trikona)
- 7th house = 2nd from 6th = Maraka for service → end/break of service
- If the 7th lord is associated with 3rd house (short break) or 8th house (long break/layoff), there will be career disruption
