D24 Rectification via B.Sc. Graduation, Education House Progressions & Navamsha Marriage Analysis

Rectification — Dasamsa and D24 (B.Sc. Graduation 1988)

Marriage is read from the Navamsa, so the Navamsa lagna has to be confirmed first.

The Navamsa Window

• Navamsa lagna is Cancer, with Sun, Jupiter and Ketu in it.
• If the birth was more than 9 minutes 49 seconds earlier, the Navamsa lagna becomes Gemini.
• If it was more than about 4½ minutes later, it becomes Leo, with Moon in lagna.
• Leo would be very unfortunate for her: lagna lord Sun in the 12th, in Marana Karaka Sthana, even though he exchanges signs with the Moon; and he is the 9th lord of the Rasi chart.
• Cancer shows the denial of marriage well enough (Part 7). But both are possible on the Navamsa alone, so higher charts are checked.

Dasamsa — Aries or Pisces?

• The lagna is at 12°17', just past a Dasamsa boundary. 1 minute 13 seconds earlier the Dasamsa lagna is Pisces. Forward it holds for 11½ minutes.
• If Aries Dasamsa lagna is right, the time cannot be early by more than about a minute. That rules out the backward Navamsa (Gemini).
• Pisces rejected: Jupiter would be lagna lord and 10th lord and extremely strong in his own sign — a teacher, a lawyer, some strong Jupiterian career. She does not work.
• Aries fits:
  • Saturn, lord of the 10th and 11th (work and gains), is debilitated in lagna — his Marana Karaka Sthana. Saturn gives lowly work or no work.
  • Mercury, the 6th lord of service, is in the 7th — again Marana Karaka Sthana. The 6th lord in the 7th is not conducive to service.
  • Sun, the 5th lord of ability and recognition, is in the 12th — Marana Karaka Sthana.
  • Three planets, the lords of the 3rd, 5th, 6th, 10th and 11th, are in Marana Karaka Sthana.

"If the 10th and 11th lord of work and gain is in Marana Karaka Sthana, there is a possibility that the person doesn't work."

• The forward Dasamsa window of 11½ minutes is no use: the Navamsa needs something under 4½ minutes. So D24 is taken up.

D24 — Narayana Dasha at the B.Sc.

• She got her bachelor's degree in biology in 1988, probably in the May–July results. Vimshottari then: Sun Dasha, around the Rahu–Jupiter antardasha border.
• The D24 lagna is Taurus. It changes to Gemini if the birth was 55 seconds later. The teacher weighs Taurus, Gemini and even Cancer, and starts with Taurus.
• D24 Narayana Dasha in 1988: the last one-third of Cancer Dasha. With that her formal education stopped.

The Three Parts of Cancer Dasha

• Last one-third: the results of the sign itself.
• Middle one-third: the results of the lord, Moon.
• First one-third: the results of occupants and aspectors — Moon in Cancer; Jupiter (Taurus), Rahu and Ketu (Scorpio) aspecting Cancer by rasi drishti.
• She was studying for the degree while Moon was giving his results.

Why Moon Gave Study and Cancer Ended It

• The house of bachelor's education is the 9th. From Taurus that is Capricorn — a dry, routine sign. Routine education.
• The 9th lord shows the kind of degree. Saturn gives a routine subject such as biology; the Moon's aspect on the 9th also points to biology.
• Moon in Cancer aspects Capricorn by graha drishti. The 9th lord Saturn is in Virgo and Moon has argala on him (11th from Saturn). So Moon can give the bachelor's study.
• Cancer is the 7th from Capricorn — a maraka sthana for the 9th. When Cancer gave its own results, the bachelor's education ended.
• Cancer is also the 2nd from Gemini, the house of the master's degree — a maraka sthana for that too. No further study.
• From any house, the 2nd and the 7th are its maraka sthanas.

Why She Got the Degree

• The 9th house is the process of learning. It does not show the degree.
• The 11th from any house is its fulfilment — the final result, the desire of that activity gained.
• The 11th from Capricorn is Scorpio, the 7th house. Its arudha, A7, is the tangible form of that fulfilment: the degree.
• A7 of the D24 is in Cancer itself. So in Cancer's own part of the dasha she got the degree.
• A11 is fulfilment of education in general and A5 is achievement in general. Neither is specific to one programme. She did not drop out, so the arudha of the 11th from the 9th is the one to see.

Education House Progression

"Just remember this: 4th house is basic education, 9th house is bachelor's, 2nd house is master's."

• 4, 9 and 2 work. Beyond that the teacher has not seen enough examples.

Which Progression to Use

• What you accumulate → every 6th house. Each degree adds to the knowledge you already have. A second wife married while the first is alive (where tradition allows it) is seen from the 6th from the 7th — the 12th house.
• What you end before starting the next → every 7th house. One relationship is finished before another begins.
• Children → every 3rd house. That is the third progression in use.
• Tradition gives several progressions for different purposes.

Other Readings from Her D24

• A5 is in the 8th house and in the 12th from the Arudha Lagna — bad from both. She is not someone widely recognised as brilliant.
• Jupiter in lagna and Mercury in the 2nd in his own sign: plenty of resources for learning. If she takes up astrology she will learn it well.
• The 5th lord (Mercury) is strong: much intelligence within, even if unrecognised. Saturn in the 5th mixes it.
• Sun is strong in the 4th: early education went well. A6 is there too, so there were obstacles to overcome.
• The 9th is Capricorn: less interest by the time of the bachelor's. She did not do as well there.

Result

• Forward error is not more than 55 seconds. Backward error is not more than 1 minute 13 seconds. Cancer Navamsa lagna stands.
• Cross-check even when intuition already gives the answer.

Navamsa Analysis — Marriage Prospects

Navamsa Lagna Cancer

• Sun, Jupiter (exalted) and Ketu in lagna. Moon, the lagna lord, is in the 2nd in Leo.
• Saturn, the 7th lord, is debilitated in Aries in the 10th.
• Rahu, the 8th lord (Aquarius), is in the 7th in Capricorn.
• Mercury, the 7th lord of the Rasi chart and so a key planet for actually getting married, is in the 8th in Aquarius.
• Venus is in the 4th in Libra, his own sign.

The Lagna Is Afflicted

• Sun is eclipsed by Ketu.
• Jupiter is exalted, but he is the 6th lord of brahmacharya as well as the 9th lord of dharma.

"This brahmacharya is something that she forced on herself."

• Ketu in lagna pushes that.

Sun, Ketu and Jupiter in Lagna

• Ketu is the 5th lord in lagna; his job here is to continue the lineage. Sun is the 2nd lord and is not against marriage either.
• But the two hate each other. Two who hate each other may want the same thing and still end up fighting instead of doing it.
• Sun, the king: "This is my kingdom. I am a great king." Ketu, headless: "What kingdom? All this is maya. Let's just go away."
• Jupiter understands both worlds — Sun's world of karma and dharma, and Ketu's wish for no desire. He is the mediator. He reminds Ketu of his job as the 5th lord and Sun of his dharma, so that marriage can occur.
• Without Jupiter, Sun and Ketu would go at each other permanently.

Saving Graces

• Venus is very strong in Navamsa, in his own sign. But he has nothing to do with the 7th house there.
• Jupiter and Ketu in lagna: the 9th lord with Ketu in lagna is a Raja Yoga for continuing the lineage. "That is not a bad feature at all."
• Saturn is not that bad: debilitated, but in a kendra, and as the 7th lord he aspects the 7th house (10th-house graha drishti from Aries to Capricorn). Rahu is the one spoiling the 7th.
