D4 (Chaturthamsa) is the chart for properties, lands, and houses. Key houses: 3H = investment/expenditure (12th from 4th); 4H = happiness from residence; 5H = purva punya (past karma for property); 9H = fortune. Key arudhas: A4 = tangible actual house lived in; A6 = big loans taken; A11 = tangible gain; UL = investment/expenditure to acquire; AL = status change from acquisition. Multiple arudhas in one sign = very powerful — when that sign's dasha runs, strong property event. D4 Narayana Dasha starts from the sign where the 4th lord of D1 is placed in D4. Narayana Dasha Starting Point for D4
D4 ND starting rule:
- "Narayana Dasha of D4 starts from the sign where the 4th lord of D1 (rashi chart) is placed in D4"
- For Libra lagna (D1): 4th lord = Saturn; find where Saturn is in D4; ND starts from there
Saturn exception:
- If Saturn is in the starting sign, normally the exception makes the dasha go forward (instead of backward for Capricorn/Aquarius)
- But if retrograde Jupiter is in the same sign and is stronger than Saturn → Jupiter overrides Saturn's exception → dasha reverts to backward
- "Jupiter is retrograde but exalted (effectively) — he says, no, go backwards, and Saturn listens to Jupiter. So Saturn exception doesn't apply."
