BPHS Ch.25 — 6th Lord in Houses 4–6: No Maternal Happiness + Rumor-Monger + Super-Rich (4H), Enmity Children + Kind + Selfish (5H) & Enmity Kinsmen + Friendly Strangers (6H)
6L in 4H: no maternal happiness (lord of enmity in mother's house = enmity with mother); shrewd problem-solver (from 6H-lagna, 6L = lagna lord in 11th from 6H = fulfillment of conquering obstacles; "you cannot easily fool him"); rumor-monger (from 9H-lagna, 6L = 10L in 8th from 9H = adharmic karma; "one manifestation is gossiping and spreading rumors"); jealous (Argala on 12H of humility = lacks humility about others' success = jealousy/envy); fickle-minded (6L = no peace in 4H of stability; 5L of emotions in 12th = emotional instability); super-rich (from 2H, 6L = 5L in 3rd from 2H = Upachaya from 2H; "puts tremendous initiative toward accumulating money — ends up very wealthy but without contentment"). 6L in 5H: fluctuating wealth (Argala on 2H from 5H but with obstacles = unstable wealth); enmity with children (lord of enmity in house of children); changing/breaking friendships (from 11H, 6L = 8L in 7th/Maraka from 11H = "Maraka of friendships — friends become enemies"); happy (Argala on both lagna and 4H = blesses self and comfort; "despite problems, person himself is happy"); selfish (from 7H, 6L = 12L in 11th from 7H = "works toward others' loss for own gain"); kind (from 9H-lagna, 6L = 10L in 9th from 9H = karma aligned with dharma). 6L in 6H: enmity with close kinsmen — bandhu (6L Argala on 2H = enmity touches family; "close relatives not extended family"); friendly with others/strangers (from 7H, 6L = 12L in 12th from 7H = "no enmity with general relationships"); medium wealth happiness (mixed result; neither fully wealthy nor fully content).
"The 6th lord in 4th gives super-rich results because from the 2nd house, this becomes the 5th lord in the 3rd from the 2nd — an Upachaya position from the 2nd house. He keeps putting initiative toward accumulating money. But the 4th house of contentment is afflicted — wealthy without contentment. That is the paradox."

BPHS Chapter 25 — 6th Lord in Houses 1–6
6th Lord in 1st House
Sanskrit results:
- Vyādhitaha — diseased; afflicted by illness
- Māninī — honorable; respected
- Svajana-dveṣī — enemy of own people / own self (Atma Satru)
- Śūraha — bold/courageous
- Guṇavān — virtuous
Why the results make sense:
Diseased (Vyādhitaha):
- 6th lord in lagna = "lord of diseases in the body itself"
- Clear and direct signification
Famous/honorable (Māninī):
- From 5th house (followers/fame): 6th lord in 1st = 2nd lord in 9th from 5th → "2nd house lord of resources in the 9th house of fortune from 5th = very abundant resources for fame"
- "He has abundant fame resources; fortunate in terms of fame"
Enemy of self/family (Ātma Śatru):
- "Atma Satru — enemy of own self, OR enemy within the family"
- From 2nd house (family): 6th lord in 1st = 5th lord in 12th from 2nd → "lord of emotional intelligence/stability for the family is in 12th (loss) from 2nd house"
- "He robs the emotional stability of the family — he does things that create unhappiness within the family"
- "Can be an enemy within the family circle; or the person's own nature is self-destructive"
Bold (Śūraha):
- 6th lord in lagna has Argala on 3rd house (lagna to 3rd = Argala)
- 3rd and 6th houses are both fiery Dusthanas; together = bold
- "He is fierce and bold"
Virtuous (Guṇavān):
- From 10th house (character): 6th lord in 1st = 9th lord in 4th from 10th having Argala on 10th → "9th lord of dharma in 4th house from 10th = dharmic conduct blessing 10th house"
- Also: 6th lord in lagna = 10th lord in 5th from 10th having Argala on 9th → "10th lord of karma in Dharma Trikona from 10th = good virtuous person"
6th Lord in 2nd House
Sanskrit results:
- Śūraha — bold in fights
- Kula-khyātir bhavet — famous in family/lineage
- Vide-śa-vāsī — lives abroad
- Sukhī — happy
- Vāgmī — good orator
- Svakarye-nirodhakshada — interested in own work; self-centered
Why the results make sense:
Bold (Śūraha):
- From 6th house (enemies/fights) as lagna: 6th lord in 2nd = lagna lord in 9th from 6th → "when he fights, he fights with full fortune on his side — fights to the finish"
- "Lagna lord of 6th in the 9th from 6th = excellent position for fighting"
- "He is not just bold; he is effective at conquering enemies"
Famous in lineage (Kula-khyāti):
- From 2nd house (family lineage): 6th lord in 2nd = 5th lord in lagna from 2nd → "5th lord of fame is in the lagna of family"
- "He is the famous person in the family lineage — families brag about him"
Lives abroad (Vide-śa-vāsī):
- Connection between Kama Trikona and 12th house (foreign lands)
- From 12th house (abroad): 6th lord in 2nd = 7th lord in 3rd from 12th → "desire and initiative from the foreign land"
- "He will have desire to go abroad and put initiative into it — likely to live in foreign country"
Happy (Sukhī):
- From 4th house (happiness/comfort): 6th lord in 2nd = 3rd lord in 11th from 4th → "3rd lord of initiative in 11th of fulfillment from 4th = accumulates comforts"
- "He keeps adding to his comforts — happy person"
Good orator (Vāgmī):
- 2nd house = house of speech; a trine lord in 2nd house = "trine lord blessing speech"
- "He is a very good speaker; speech is blessed"
Interested in own work:
- From 10th house (karma): 6th lord in 2nd = 9th lord in 5th from 10th → "9th lord of fortune in Dharma Trikona from 10th"
- "He focuses his fortune-energy on his own work; Dharma Trikona from 10th = he works for himself"
- "His own agenda is paramount; not really interested in working for others"
6th Lord in 3rd House
Sanskrit results:
- Krodhinaha — angry; fierce; fire in belly
- Nishūraha — actually no bravery (Nishura = without bravery; paradox)
- Bhrātr-śatruta — enmity with brothers/siblings
- Dāsa pāśritaha — servant who is disobedient
Why the results make sense:
Angry/fire in belly (Krodhī):
- 6th and 3rd are both fiery Dusthanas (Dusthana lords connecting to each other)
- "6th lord in 3rd = two fiery Dusthanas linked — very much fire in the belly; angry nature"
No actual bravery (Nishūraha) — Paradox:
- "Wait — the previous result said bold, this says no bravery. Is that contradictory?"
- PVNR: "The anger is real but the follow-through is lacking"
- From 6th house lagna: lagna lord in 10th from 6th — some positive
- BUT from lagna perspective: 6th lord (which is also some other house lord) in 3rd = obstructs bravery
- "He gets angry very easily, but doesn't have the actual courage to fight through"
- "4th house = water; 3rd house = fire; 4th lord in 3rd = water extinguishes fire" — if the 4th lord is also here it can temper the boldness
- "Has anger but not necessarily the sustained courage"
Enmity with brothers:
- 6th = enmity; 3rd = brothers → "lord of enmity sitting in house of brothers — enmity with brothers is natural"
- "His brothers are like enemies to him"
Disobedient servants (Dāsa pāśritaha):
- From 6th house (servants) as lagna: 6th lord in 3rd = lagna lord in 10th from 6th → "from 6th, this planet is the lagna lord in 10th"
- "The 10th house (from 6th-lagna) = Moha — the servants act based on their own reasoning; they do not blindly follow orders"
- "Disobedient: servant thinks before serving; doesn't just do what they are told"
6th Lord in 4th House
Sanskrit results:
- Mātur dukham — unhappiness from mother; no maternal happiness
- Daksha — shrewd; capable problem-solver
- Piśuna — rumor-monger; tale-bearer; backbiter
- Dveṣī — jealous; one who harbors enmity
- Cancala-bhāva — fickle-minded; restless
- Dhanādhyaha — super-rich; very wealthy
Why the results make sense:
No maternal happiness:
- 6th lord of enmity in 4th house of mother → "lord of enmity is in the house of mother — enmity with mother"
- "Not happy with mother, or mother is a source of problems"
Shrewd/capable problem-solver (Daksha):
- From 6th house: "6th lord in 4th = 11th house from 6th-lagna" → "11th position from 6th = fulfillment of conquering obstacles"
- "He is shrewd at overcoming obstacles — you cannot easily fool him"
Rumor-monger (Piśuna):
- Taking 9th house (dharma) as lagna: 6th lord in 4th = 10th lord in 8th from 9th → "10th lord of karma in 8th from dharma = adharmic actions"
- "He does adharmic karma — one manifestation is gossiping and spreading rumors"
Jealous (Dveṣī):
- 6th house is the root of Shadripu; Argala on 12th house (humility)
- "6th lord in 4th has Argala on 12th house — instead of humility (12th), he lacks it; he is jealous and envious"
- "Jealousy = lack of humility about others' success"
Fickle-minded (Cancala):
- 6th lord in 4th = "no peace in 4th house of stability and peace of mind"
- From 5th house (emotional stability): "5th lord of emotions in 12th" → "emotional instability; never settles into peace"
- "He is always restless and fickle"
Super-rich (Dhanādhyaha):
- From 2nd house (wealth): 6th lord in 4th = 5th lord in 3rd from 2nd → "5th lord of skill/initiative in 3rd house of initiative from 2nd"
- "Upachaya from 2nd — initiative toward wealth; he puts tremendous initiative toward accumulating money"
- "He ends up very wealthy — but wealth without contentment (due to 4th house affliction)"

- Mitrānāṃ vā śatru-sama — enmity with friends or fluctuating friendships
- Sukhī — happy
- Dveṣī — jealous/selfish (working for himself)
- Kṛpālu — kind
Why the results make sense:
Fluctuating wealth:
- 6th lord in 5th has Argala on 2nd house (5th to 2nd = Argala) BUT with obstacles
- "He creates Argala on 2nd house, but there are obstacles to that Argala — fluctuating wealth; not stable"
Enmity with children:
- 6th = enmity; 5th = children → "lord of enmity in house of children — enmity with children"
Changing friendships:
- From 11th house (friends/gains): 6th lord in 5th = 8th lord from 11th in 7th from 11th → "8th lord of 11th in the Maraka position (7th) from 11th"
- "Maraka of friendships — friends become enemies; friendships fluctuate and break"
Happy (Sukhī):
- 6th lord in 5th has Argala on both lagna and 4th house → "blesses both lagna (self) and 4th house (comfort)"
- "Despite problems with children and friends, the person himself is happy"
Jealous/Selfish (Dveṣī):
- "Argala on lagna = works for himself"
- From 7th house (others): 6th lord in 5th = 12th lord in 11th from 7th → "12th lord (sacrifice/loss of others) in 11th from 7th = works toward others' loss for his own gain"
- "He is selfish — works for himself at cost of others; he is Dveṣī"
Kind (Kṛpālu):
- From 9th house (dharma) as lagna: 6th lord in 5th = 10th lord in 9th from 9th → "10th lord of karma is in the 9th house of dharma from 9th = karma aligned with dharma"
- "He is emotionally affected by the 5th house energy of emotional sensitivity — he has kindness"
- "Both selfish and kind — apparent contradiction resolved by context (selfish toward strangers who threaten him, but kind by nature)"
6th Lord in 6th House
Sanskrit results:
- Bāndhavānāṃ śatru bhavet — enmity with close kinsmen/relatives (bandhu = close relatives, not all relatives)
- Pare-ṣāṃ tu mitrabhāvaha — friendly with others/strangers
- Madhyam-dhana-sukha-anvitaha — medium happiness from wealth
Why the results make sense:
Enmity with close kinsmen:
- 6th lord in 6th has Argala on 2nd house (family) → "6th lord of enmity has Argala on 2nd house of family — the enmity touches the family"
- "He is not on good terms with his own relatives — close kinsmen (bandhu) not extended family"
Friendly with others:
- From 7th house (general relationships): 6th lord in 6th = 12th lord in 12th from 7th → "12th lord in its own house from 7th = no enmity with general relationships"
- "He is not at enmity with the general public or acquaintances; just close relatives are the problem"
Medium wealth happiness (Madhyam):
- From 5th house (contentment with wealth; 4th from 2nd house of wealth): 6th lord in 6th = 4th lord from 2nd in 4th from 2nd (2nd lord is in its own 2nd position from 5th lagna)
- "Wealthy but not content — or content but not wealthy; medium outcome"
- This demonstrates the key principle: contentment from any house seen from 4th house of that house
