D-30 — the Moon Under the 6th and 8th Lords

D-30 lagna is Gemini (about 29°).

D-30 daśā: Moon–Venus had just started. The event fell in Moon–Ketu.

Moon (daśā lord):

• 2nd lord in the 7th (Sagittarius) — practically a māraka.
• The blessing: he is in a friendly sign.
• Saturn, the 8th lord, aspects him from Gemini with the 7th graha dṛṣṭi. Saturn is at about 16½°–17° Gemini, Moon at 20° Sagittarius — a close aspect.
• Rāhu and Ketu are with him at 25° Sagittarius in the teacher's chart, so he is eclipsed by the nodes. Ketu is the 6th lord.
• So the 6th and 8th lords influence the Moon, and he is a māraka himself. His daśā is running.

Venus (antardaśā lord): the 6th lord counted from the daśā lord Moon.

The site's chart puts Rāhu and Ketu in Aquarius of D-30, not in Sagittarius with the Moon. The nodes sit on a triṁśāṁśa border (about 10° Aquarius/Leo) and the teacher's software has them about a degree further on. The other D-30 placements match.

Saturn Stationary at 28°44' Virgo — 25 June 2012

• Saturn became stationary early on 25 June 2012 at 28°44' Virgo. He had been retrograde and turned direct.
• Rāśi chart: nothing near that degree. The māraka planets in Pisces (7th lord, 8th lord) are not close to 28°.
• D-30: Mars is at 27°36' Pisces. Mars is the 6th lord of disease (and 11th lord) of the Gemini D-30 lagna, a functional malefic.
• Saturn's 7th aspect from 28°44' Virgo falls on 28°44' Pisces — less than a degree and a half from D-30 Mars.
• Saturn is the 8th lord of D-30.

"Natal 8th lord is stationary and aspecting the natal 6th lord very closely."

• Saturn also has the 10th aspect on the D-30 lagna at about 29° Gemini. The lagna degree cannot be trusted to the degree, but if it lies between 25° and 30° the station hits it too.
• So from this station alone, bad events relating to health were to be expected around June–July 2012. The coma began about mid-June.

The Next Station — February 2013

• Saturn becomes stationary again on 18 February 2013 at about 17°–17½° Libra.
• Natal rāśi Moon is at 13°40' Libra: Saturn stations in the same sign, within 4°. Saturn has not reached the Moon yet; he is still approaching.
• D-30 Moon is at 20° Sagittarius. Saturn's 3rd aspect from 17½° Libra falls on 17½° Sagittarius — within 2½° of the D-30 Moon.
• Saturn stationary on both the rāśi Moon and the D-30 Moon is not a good gochara. More is left to go through; keep up the sādhana.

The Praśna Chart

Is the praśna fit to read? What is wanted is some influence of Jupiter on the lagna and no undesirable influence (Saturn, Rāhu, Ketu). Jupiter at 19°15' Taurus aspects the lagna at 21° Capricorn; the software gives the aspect as 96%. So nature may give the answer.

Lagna lord by longitude:

• Lagna is 21° Capricorn. Saturn is at about 1°14' Libra — the 10th sign.
• But the 10th house, taken from the lagna degree, runs from 6° Libra to 6° Scorpio. Saturn at 1° Libra is before it, closer to 21° Virgo than to 21° Libra.
• So Saturn is taken in the 9th house, exalted. (A student objects later that Saturn is in the 10th; the teacher repeats this reasoning.)

Influences on lagna — what the question is about:

• Mercury, the 6th and 9th lord, aspects the lagna closely.
• Jupiter, the 12th lord of hospitalisation, aspects the lagna and is under Rāhu–Ketu influence (he is with Ketu).
• Mars, the 4th and 11th lord — the bādhaka lord — also aspects the lagna.
• 6th lord and 12th lord on the lagna: a health issue, hospitalisation.

Strength of the lagna — the answer:

• Lagna lord is in a trine and exalted.
• Jupiter is a functional malefic here, but his aspect on lagna is always a blessing.
• Mercury is the 6th lord but also the 9th lord. The 9th lord's aspect on lagna shows blessings of the gods and fortune.

"The praśna is also not really showing disastrous things. The praśna also shows that he may survive."

Timing a Praśna by the Planet's Cycle

The planet that shows the good result sets how fast it comes. Each planet has its own cycle.

• Here two factors show the blessing: the 9th lord Mercury aspecting lagna, and the lagna lord Saturn in the 9th.
• Mercury alone would give it in 2–3 months. Saturn takes years.
• Both are important, so combine them: of the order of a year, a couple of years.

Verdict and Remedies

Message for the family:

• Things do not look good for a while. It will take a long time.
• There is hope of coming out of it about mid-2013 or in the second half of 2013.
• It is not expected to be fatal. No danger to life.

Remedies — for Jupiter (daśā lord, transiting the 8th from Moon) and for Saturn (the 7½ years):

• Mṛtyuñjaya mantra — the obvious one in a situation like this.
• The Jupiter mantra, as japa or homam. (The words of the mantra are garbled on the recording.)
• Rudra Namakam or Chamakam, or Hanuman Chalisa, for Saturn.
• Moving their home can also be suggested.

Could the Coma Have Been Foreseen?

A student asks how one sees that it is a coma.

• The teacher: he does not know. The rāśi chart shows māraka influence; D-30 shows the Moon hammered by Rāhu–Ketu and Saturn. That much is visible.
• An afflicted D-30 Moon in other charts gave mental trouble: autism, learning difficulty, a suicidal or mentally disturbed phase. Saturn gives depression. Rāhu–Ketu give violence, aggression, unpredictable behaviour.
• Had the family come at the start of 2012 he would have said: some mental disturbance, depression — do remedies. Seeing Saturn about to station on the 6th lord, he might have guessed an accident or a serious health problem.
• He would not have said coma. That would need 10–15 coma charts to correlate.
