- Find 9th house (e.g., Virgo)
- Find 9th lord (e.g., Mercury)
- Mercury is in Scorpio (11th from 9th = 11th from Virgo = Cancer)
- L9 = Cancer
- Take Cancer as lagna → that is father's chart within the child's chart
Case Application (from above chart)
Taking L9 (Cancer) as lagna for father:
- 9th house from L9: Pisces → has Badhaka lord
- "Badhaka lord in 9th house = breaks idols" (= doesn't believe in God; may even literally disrespect religious icons)
- 3rd house: Rahu + aspected by Mars → "Rahu in 3rd house, Mars aspecting = very stubborn, very adamant"
- 5th house: Mercury in Martian sign → intelligent, quick, fiery intelligence
- 7th house: Aspected by Mars (8th aspect), Rahu (5th aspect), Saturn (7th lord) → "very dry, matter-of-fact, not tactful; doesn't get along with people well"
- Career (6/10 houses): Jupiter (6th lord) in 8th house = Ketu Ketu Yoga + lagna + 9th lord → research-oriented, 8th house career (research, digging deep)
- 10th lord Mars as "Yaukaraka" (yogakaraka) in 12th house → "when Yaukaraka is in 12th house, advise the person to leave the homeland for fortune"
