D-10 Career Analysis — Lakshmi Reddy's Chart

D-10 Lagna

  • Dasamsa lagna: Libra or Scorpio (from the class discussion, Dasamsa lagna for Lakshmi Reddy is Libra or Scorpio — the exact amsha determines dikpala)
  • Varuna amsha for lagna = patience, people management, business interfacing; suited for work involving large groups or organizations

Key D-10 Placements

10th lord in 6th house:

  • 10th lord in 6th = workaholic; person succeeds by overcoming obstacles
  • This person does not wait for opportunities — she grinds through difficulties
  • Jaya Yoga: 10th lord strong + 6th lord debilitated = complete victory over opposition
  • She overcomes every challenge that comes her way in career

9th lord Mercury papakartari:

  • Mercury (9th lord in Rasi chart) is flanked by Saturn on one side and Rahu on the other = papakartari on Mercury
  • Normally this would be very bad — the planet is squeezed between two malefics
  • BUT: here both Saturn AND Rahu happen to own the 5th house in Dasamsa
  • So you have 5th lord + 9th lord combination = near-Maharaj Yoga in career
  • This is an example of how malefics in difficult positions can still create powerful yogas through their lordships
  • The lesson: always check what houses those malefics own before concluding it is purely negative

6th house vs 7th house for career type:

  • If the 6th house is stronger in D-10 (more planets, stronger aspects) = person is suited for service (job, employment)
  • If the 7th house is stronger = person is suited for business (self-employment, partnerships)
  • 6th lord in 7th house = strong desire for entrepreneurship but person is NOT a natural entrepreneur
  • Natural entrepreneurs have 3rd lord, 11th lord, or 7th lord in the 7th house (these are initiative/profit lords, not service lords)

Mercury dasha gave job (9L in 10H):

  • Mercury as 9L placed in 10H of D-24 (Siddhamsa/education) = blessing in career through education
  • Mercury-Mercury dasha = the period when her software career/job started
  • This shows how the same planet can give multiple results in different divisional charts

Dikpala Amshas for D-10 Direction

The 10 dikpalas (directional deities) show the direction of career karma:

  • Ananta amsha: karma directed toward spirituality, upward evolution
  • Indra amsha: material power and rise, worldly success
  • Isha amsha: religious/spiritual orientation in career
  • Brahma amsha: careful, methodical planning; creative planning
  • Varuna amsha: people management, patience, business interfacing

For Lakshmi Reddy: Dasamsa lagna has Varuna amsha = career involves managing many people; patient, diplomatic approach to work.

Lordship = Agenda; House = Resources (The SJC Analogy)

This is a core philosophical point that PVNR teaches repeatedly:

  • House = the environment, the circumstances, the inanimate backdrop
  • Lord of that house = the intelligence, the agenda, the driving force within those circumstances

Example: The SJC organization (Sri Jagannath Center) is the house. The teachers are the house lords. The house shows what subjects are taught (astrology, Sanskrit). But the teachers have their own agenda — they want to spread Jyotish knowledge. The resources (building, materials, schedule) are shown by the house. The agenda (spreading knowledge, teaching particular things) is shown by the lord.

When you see a planet occupying a house in D-10:

  • The house tells you what resources are available
  • The planet's lordship tells you what agenda that planet is pursuing using those resources

Trikona motivation types:

  • Dharma trikona (1H, 5H, 9H): motivation = "I want to do the right thing"
  • Artha trikona (2H, 6H, 10H): motivation = "I cannot stay idle; I must work"
  • Kama trikona (3H, 7H, 11H): motivation = "I want to get something in return"
  • Moksha trikona (4H, 8H, 12H): motivation = "I just want to get things done and be free of it"

A planet in D-10 with lordship from different trikonas brings that type of motivation to the career domain.

Bhoga Formula in D-10

Applied to Lakshmi Reddy's Dasamsa (Mercury dasha with various antardashas):

Bhoga Calculation

  1. Count signs from dasha lord to antardasha lord = N
  2. Count N signs from antardasha lord = Bhoga sign
  3. Interpret which house that Bhoga sign is from the D-10 lagna

Results

  • Mercury-Mercury (self dasha): Bhoga in self; career matters are directly in focus
  • Mercury-Jupiter (Jupiter debilitated = 6L in D-10 = Jaya Yoga): Bhoga in 10H = very important career period; despite Jupiter being debilitated, it's the period of greatest career achievement because 10H Bhoga = direct career fulfillment
  • Mercury-Rahu: Bhoga in 12H = possible loss or giving up of something in career
  • Mercury-Ketu: Bhoga in 5H = recognition, perhaps for special abilities or creativity

Key insight for 10H Bhoga: When Bhoga falls in 10th house from D-10 lagna, it is the most auspicious period for career development. Any ambitions, projects, or promotions are likely to manifest during this antardasha.

D-16 Shodasamsa — Vehicles and Consciousness

  • D-16 (Shodasamsa, 1/16th division) = chart of consciousness and mental concept of pleasure and displeasure
  • Shows how a person mentally conceives of enjoyment and suffering
  • Also shows vehicles (modes of transport, cars, aircraft — physical vehicles that give movement)
  • Different from D-4 (Chaturthamsa) which shows fixed assets and property (houses, land)
  • D-4 = immovable property; D-16 = movable vehicles

Houses for Enjoyment: Kama Trikonas

  • Enjoyment in life is seen from the Kama Trikona: 3rd, 7th, and 11th houses
  • 3rd = short trips, hobbies, outings, entertainment
  • 7th = pleasure through relationships and partnerships
  • 11th = fulfillment of desires, social pleasures

A3 — The Arudha of the 3rd House

  • A3 = Arudha of 3rd house = tangible manifestation of specific outings, vacations, trips
  • If you want to know about a specific vacation or journey, look at A3 and its lord
  • A3 tells you the circumstances of the trip (where, how, what kind)
  • The lord of A3 tells you the agenda and flavor of that travel

Bhoga Formula Applied to Running Navamsa Dasha

For Lakshmi Reddy's current Navamsa dasha period (Mercury mahadasha, Rahu antardasha):

Mercury-Ketu Antardasha (before current)

  • Bhoga: Ketu is X signs from Mercury → same X from Ketu = Bhoga
  • Ketu in 5H with Mercury in Navamsa → Bhoga = 5th house itself (Ketu and Mercury together)
  • 5th house = emotions in marital life
  • Mercury gives hope; Ketu gives disgust and desire to cut/separate
  • = Period of oscillation between hope and desire to give up

Mercury-Rahu Antardasha (current)

  • Rahu is 7th from Mercury (in Navamsa)
  • 7th from Rahu = 5th house from Navamsa lagna
  • Bhoga = 5th house
  • 5th house has Mercury (LL) + Ketu (6L) → same oscillation but...
  • Rahu as 9th lord in 11th house has Labha-argala on lagna
  • 9th lord = protector of dharma; 11th house = gains/fulfillment of desires
  • "Rahu's agenda is also to protect the marriage"
  • Therefore: during Mercury-Rahu period, there will be active effort toward reconciliation
  • "There is a chance during Rahu Antardasha for getting back together"
