7th House as Extrovert Lagna, Karaka-Lord-Occupant Framework & Kendrapati Dosha — Natural Benefic in Kendra = Functional Malefic

7th house = extrovert lagna: "Lagna is the introvert concept of self; 7th is the extrovert concept. Both are you." Jaimini uses both Lagna and 7th house as reference points (Narayana Dasha starts from either). Some people are better judged from 7th house than lagna (when 7th is stronger). 7H argala targets: 9th house (11th from 7th = fortune fulfillment), 4th house, 6th house. Apply spouse results in D9; wealth from 7H in D2/D4; physical aspects in D1. Karaka-Lord-Occupant framework: karaka = project manager responsible for the matter; house lord = group manager who owns resources; planet in house = team member. Lord and karaka on good terms → project succeeds; enemies → fails despite effort. Planet in house: if his agenda matches house purpose = helps; if conflicts (e.g., 6th lord in 7H) = actively works against it. Dasha must arrive before any result manifests. Kendrapati Dosha: natural benefic owning kendra (4/7/10) = functional malefic. Exception: placement IN that very kendra gives partial relief + Mahapurusha yoga potential. Example: Virgo lagna = Jupiter owns 4H and 7H → functional malefic overall, but as 7th lord, good FOR marriage specifically. Functional malefic classification: dusthana lords (3/6/11) = malefic; trikona/lagna (1/5/9) = benefic; 2/8/12 = neutral; kendra: malefic if natural benefic owns it.

"The world judges you based on your interactions. 7th house is who you are moving with. If 7th lord is strong and with functional benefics, you move in big circles — wealth and fortune naturally follow."

— P.V.R. Narasimha Rao

Key Conceptual Teachings

7th House as Extrovert Lagna

"Lagna is the introvert concept of self; 7th house is the extrovert concept of self. Both are you."

— PVNR
  • Jaimini principles reference both Lagna and 7th house (Narayana Dasha starts from either)
  • Some people's personality is better judged from the 7th house than the lagna (when 7th is stronger)
  • Arudha: PVNR mentions that Arudha of 7th house = how world sees your interactions

Karaka vs Lord vs Occupant = Project Manager Analogy

"The karaka is the project manager responsible for that matter. The house lord is the group manager who owns resources. The planet in the house is a team member working on that project."

— PVNR
  • If karaka and lord are on good terms → project succeeds
  • If karaka and lord are enemies → project fails despite effort
  • Planet placed in the house: If his agenda matches the house → contributes well; if his agenda conflicts (e.g., 6th lord in 7th) → actively works against the house's purpose
  • Dasha must come: Even a perfectly placed planet can't give results if its dasha hasn't arrived

Kendrapati Dosha — Clarification

Rule: A natural benefic that owns a kendra (quadrant: 4th, 7th, 10th house) becomes a functional malefic. This is because the benefic nature is neutralized/perverted by kendra ownership.

Exception: If the planet is placed IN that very kendra it owns → partial relief from the dosha. Placement in own kendra gives Mahapurusha yoga potential.

Example: Virgo lagna → Jupiter owns 4th and 7th. Jupiter becomes a functional malefic for the native overall. But as 7th lord, Jupiter is "good" for 7th house matters (marriage). If he is in the 7th in Pisces (exalted), he gives Hamsa Mahapurusha yoga.

Key distinction: Jupiter is malefic for the lagna (for the native's overall well-being) but good for the 7th house's specific matters (because he owns and is responsible for them).

Functional Malefic Classification (Parashara's Rules)

House ClassificationLord Becomes
Dusthana (3rd, 6th, 11th)Functional malefic
Trikona (5th, 9th)Functional benefic
Lagna (1st)Functional benefic
2nd, 8th, 12thNeutral
Kendra (4th, 7th, 10th)Neutral if natural malefic; malefic if natural benefic

If a planet owns 2 houses: average the results (if one is malefic and one is neutral → still malefic; neutral + benefic → neutral).
