Mars-Rahu Combination — Kujasthambhana

Key Rules

Mars and Rahu together:

• They do NOT exchange results (unlike most conjunctions)
• "Mars hates Rahu. Like a police officer and an underworld don — they will fire at each other, not exchange ideas."
• Rahu makes Mars extremely angry and disturbed — this is called Kujasthambhana (Mars being obstructed/agitated)
• The house they occupy is "ruined/disturbed" by the conflict between them
• "Like two people shooting at each other — the room they are in gets bullet holes everywhere"

If they don't fight (by grace of Subramanya prayer):

• 6th lord + 8th lord together can actually become a form of Vipareetha Rajyoga
• "If they coexist, there is actually a Raj yoga. But you need to put them in their place first."

Vijaya Yoga (Sanjay Rath reference):

• Mars+Rahu in certain houses = Vijaya Yoga (victory after much fighting)
• "Victory comes only through huge battle — it's not a comfortable yoga. But eventual victory is possible."

Kujasthambhana in D4

• In Manoj's D4: Mars (6th lord) and Rahu (8th lord) in 2nd house of resources
• Mars at 2°, Rahu at ~3.5° of D4 = close conjunction (6° apart in original sign) → very destructive to the house
• Result: "2nd house of resources for buying a house is weakened"
• "Mars and Rahu are 6th and 8th lords — if they cooperate, that would be Rajyoga. But they fight, so the house is disturbed."

Subramanya (Kartikeya) — Remedy for Mars-Rahu

Why Subramanya?

• Rahu = snake (serpent energy); Mars = warrior
• Subramanya = leader of gods, rides a peacock (peacock = king of snakes = controls all snake energy)
• "When you pray to Subramanya, you are: (1) weakening Rahu (the snake), and (2) strengthening Mars (the warrior). You do both with one prayer."
• "Hanuman would strengthen Mars but do nothing about Rahu. Subramanya does both."

Which form of Subramanya?

Match the form to the sign Mars-Rahu occupy:

"If Mars and Rahu are in Libra (Venus sign), pray to Subramanya as the husband of Valli — 'Valli Subramanya' or 'Valli Devasena Subramanya.'"

Kuja Dosha (Mangal Dosha) — Overview

• Kujadosha = Mars placed in certain sensitive houses (from lagna, Moon, or Venus), creating aggressive/Martian energy
• Theory: If one partner has Kujadosha and the other doesn't → mismatch in aggression level → suffering for the milder partner
• Matchmaking idea: both partners should have similar aggression levels (both Kujadosha or both not)

PVNR's view: "Kujadosha is highly overrated."

• "If you take all the houses Mars can be in from lagna, from Moon, from Venus, and superimpose them — 80% of people have Kujadosha."
• "Even if somebody has Kujadosha, there are so many qualifying conditions that can negate it"
• "Don't reject marriages based purely on Kujadosha — it has so many riders that most astrologers don't know all of them"
• Core truth: Mars's position shows one's degree of aggression; you need to evaluate the whole chart

Vimshottari Dasha: Mars Mahadasha running

• Mars = 3rd lord (investment in property) in D4 — positive
• BUT: Mars is with Rahu in 2nd house of resources in D4 = Kujasthambhana weakening resources
• Mars-Rahu = will NOT exchange results
• "Mars is the 3rd lord — he has the right inclination. But the 2nd house of resources is weakened."

Which antardasha?

Saturn is the best antardasha for buying the house.

• Saturn VD antardasha: November 2006 – December 2007
• "Based on both Vimshottari and Narayana, after November 2006, there is a high chance. Probably after March 2007 is when it really happens."

Narayana Dasha (D4): Capricorn Mahadasha (Prishtodaya → last 1/3 gives own results)

• Saturn (lord of Capricorn) in Pisces (Ubhayodaya) → gives results in middle 1/3
• Within middle 1/3: Saturn's 4-quarter analysis:
  • Malefic order: 1st quarter = avastha; 2nd quarter = houses he owns (A4 and 5th house)
  • 2nd quarter of middle 1/3 = March 2007 – January 2008 = Saturn giving results of his owned houses (A4 and purva punya)

Annual Chart 2007 (ATP):

Remedies suggested:

1. Subramanya (for Mars-Rahu in D4 2nd house) — pray with sankalpa for house
2. Kali (for Saturn as primary dasha lord) — previously prescribed for career, helps here too
3. "When you do the prayer, make a sankalpa for the house specifically — say 'I want a good house.'"

Mars + Ketu in 9th House (D4)

• Manoj also has both 9th lords in 8th house in rashi chart → "lot of anxiety while performing dharma"
• Mars and Ketu in 9th house in D4 → explosive combination
• "If he pursues astrology, occult studies, or spiritual practices, Mars-Ketu will be contented. If he doesn't, they will create explosive events."
• "These planets are like tools — they can be used for this (spiritual) or this (explosive). Use them for the good."
