Sudarshana Chakra Antardasha — Seeds from the Dasha Pravesha Chakra

The problem with the standard method

The standard method, as the software shows it, starts the antardashas from the dasha sign itself and goes through the 12 signs. Then the first antardasha is always the same three signs as the mahadasha and gets the same reading. PVNR found it does not work in practice.

PVNR's method

"To find the antardasha signs, I don't go from the dasha sign itself. What I do is, in the Dasha Pravesha Chakra, see where lagna, Moon, and Sun are and progress from there."

1. Cast the Dasha Pravesha Chakra of the year.
2. Note the signs of the actual lagna, Moon and Sun in that chart (in the same division). These three signs are the seeds.
3. The Nth antardasha (Nth month of the year) is the Nth sign from each seed.
4. Cast the Antardasha Pravesha Chakra for the start of that month and judge it from those three signs.
5. Pratyantardasha: the same again. Take the lagna, Moon and Sun of the Antardasha Pravesha Chakra as seeds and progress from them.

Every other principle is the same. Only the calculation differs. The software's antardasha signs come from the natal chart, so ignore them. He is not 100% convinced, but this worked in about 90% of the cases he checked.

Worked example — the month Romney dropped out (February 2008)

• The year 2007-08: dasha signs Pisces, Leo, Scorpio. In its Dasha Pravesha Chakra the lagna is in Aquarius, the Moon in Aries, the Sun in Scorpio. Seeds: Aquarius, Aries, Scorpio.
• He conceded on 7 February 2008, in the 11th antardasha (12 January – 11 February 2008). The software shows Cancer, Virgo, Aries; ignore that. The 11th from the seeds: Sagittarius, Aquarius, Virgo.
• Judge the entry chart of that month from these three:
  • From Sagittarius: Jupiter and Rahu, a Guru-Chāṇḍāla yoga, sit in the 5th house of power. The lord of the 5th, Mars, is in the 8th. The 8th lord Moon is in samasaptaka with them and receives their aspect. The 5th is tied to Guru-Chāṇḍāla and to the 8th.
  • From Aquarius: the 5th is acceptable. The 8th is terrible: the 8th lord is in lagna, and the 7th lord Sun, a māraka, is in the 8th.
  • From Virgo: nothing stands out in the 5th, but the Guru-Chāṇḍāla yoga is now in the 8th and aspects the 5th lord Saturn. Again the 7th lord is in the 8th — worse here, because Jupiter is with Rahu.
• Common to two or all three references: 7th lord in the 8th, Guru-Chāṇḍāla tied to the 8th, Guru-Chāṇḍāla tied to the 5th.

"So this shows during this month there will be setback. Some kind of giving up or loss or retirement kind of thing in the career, in a very unfortunate situation. That is what Rahu-Guru combination shows."

The entry charts of this lesson were cast in the teacher's software. The site does not draw them.

Romney — Antardashas and Pratyantardasha of 2011-12

Seeds for the year: in the Dasha Pravesha Chakra of 2011-12 the actual lagna is in Taurus, the Moon in Cancer, the Sun in Scorpio. (Cancer, Sagittarius, Pisces are the progressed signs of the year; these are different.)

10th antardasha (to 13 January 2012) — Aquarius, Aries, Leo

The software shows Taurus, Gemini, Gemini. The 10th from the seeds is Aquarius, Aries, Leo.

• From Aquarius: the 9th contains the lagna lord Saturn, exalted. The 9th is very powerful.
• From Leo: the same — the lagna lord is exalted in the 9th.
• From Aries: the 5th lord is exalted in lagna. The 9th lord Jupiter, in Gemini, aspects the 9th house Sagittarius.
• The lagna is tied to an exalted planet from all three. The 9th stands out from all three.
• From Aquarius and from Leo the 8th is strong too: in one case it contains three planets, in the other it is aspected by three, one exalted and one debilitated. Ups and downs, a lot of tension.
• What happened: he fell in the polls and Gingrich led for a while. Then he came back from behind, regained the lead, and the pundits wrote as if he were already crowned. An excellent month.

11th antardasha (12 January – 11 February 2012) — Pisces, Taurus, Virgo

What stands out in the entry chart: Moon with Rahu (a bad combination); Scorpio, Sagittarius and Capricorn each aspected by their lords; Taurus and Libra with an exalted lord; Pisces holding an exalted planet.

• From Pisces: the lagna contains an exalted planet. The 5th is aspected by its lord Moon, but Moon is with Rahu: Chandra-Chāṇḍāla yoga.
• From Taurus: the 5th is aspected by exalted Venus. But the 5th lord is in the 12th, and the 12th lord counted from the 5th sits in the 5th.
• From Virgo: the 5th lord Saturn aspects the 5th. But the Moon–Rahu combination is in the 5th, and counted from that sign they are its 2nd and 7th lords, the mārakas.
• The 5th is strong from all three, each time with something undesirable.
• The 8th is not as strong: from Pisces the 8th lord is exalted, from Taurus the 8th lord aspects the 8th, from Virgo nothing.
• Reading: he stays the leader but cannot close it out by South Carolina or Florida as people expect. He will not collapse the way Perry, Bachmann and Gingrich did. He will have to slog, and he will be ahead.

12th antardasha (11 February – 12 March 2012) — Aries, Gemini, Libra

Antardasha Pravesha Chakra: 11 February 2012, 10:39:21 AM.

• From Aries: the lagna lord is in lagna — the lagna is powerful. Nothing great about the 5th. The 10th has Rahu, but it is aspected by its lord Saturn and by an exalted planet.
• From Gemini: the lagna lord is debilitated and the Sun in lagna is not in a friendly sign; average. The 10th has a debilitated planet, but its lord is exalted and aspects it. Nothing great about the 5th.
• From Libra: nothing stands out in the 5th or the lagna. The 10th contains an exalted planet.
• The 8th does not dominate from any of them.
• The 10th is strong, the 5th is not. The 10th is work and effort. The 5th is popularity.
• Reading: he does not drop out and nobody else closes the deal, but he may lose ground. A conservative contender emerges and it turns neck and neck. By Super Tuesday he may not even be the frontrunner.

Pratyantardasha — the New Hampshire primary

• The current antardasha began on 14 December 2011. In its Antardasha Pravesha Chakra the lagna, Moon and Sun fall in Gemini, Aries and Virgo. These are the seeds for the pratyantardashas.
• The last (12th) pratyantardasha runs from 10 January, about 1:26 PM, to midnight of 13 January. The primary results come in during it. The software's signs are ignored. The 12th from the seeds: Pisces, Taurus, Leo.
• From Pisces: the lagna holds a debilitated planet and its lord is not strong. The 5th lord Moon is in the 5th, but with Ketu. The 5th is good, with a qualification.
• From Taurus: the 5th lord is debilitated but aspects the 5th house.
• From Leo: the lagna is strong. The 5th is aspected by its lord Jupiter and by Mars, the yogakāraka for Leo. No qualification.
• Nothing is common about the lagna. The 5th is occupied or aspected by its lord from all three.
• Reading: he wins New Hampshire with a decent margin, a clearer victory than Iowa. The anti-Romney vote is split among several candidates.

The outlook he gives

• Good for a month, without being able to close. From mid-February a credible challenger and a hard, ugly fight.
• After his birthday on 12 March things drag on and he takes heat. Either he clinches the nomination and loses the election, or he loses the nomination too.
• He is being saved by the number of conservatives splitting the conservative vote.
• This is from one chart alone, without the charts of the others.

Uccha Dṛṣṭi — Aspect on the Sign of Exaltation

"If a planet is aspecting a sign where he would be exalted, that drishti is called uccha drishti. It's basically auspicious."

• In Romney's D-10 Mars is in Gemini. His 8th aspect falls on Capricorn, his sign of exaltation. Capricorn is the 11th from the Pisces lagna.
• So from lagna Mars is with the 11th lord and aspects the 11th house, "that too with uccha drishti".
• This is the only example given in the class. (The transcript spells it "Uchatrushi".)
