Marriage Timing in Navamsha (D-9)

Key principle: 7th house of Navamsha = specifically the spouse. 7th house of Rashi = all relationships.

For marriage, look at the 7th house and the lagna of the Navamsha. A planet in the 7th does not give marriage merely by sitting there — check what it owns.

Sun Dasha → Marriage:

• Sun = 7th lord of the Navamsha (Leo), placed in the lagna
• Sun Dasha began in 1970; Sun Dasha, Sun Antardasha → first marriage, May 1970

Moon Dasha → Separation:

• Moon sits in the 7th house of the Navamsha but owns the 6th (Cancer)
• 6th = 12th from the 7th = loss of the marriage: quarrels, separation, divorce
• So Moon, though in the 7th, does not give marriage; he gives separation

The Houses That End a Marriage

Count the dusthanas from the 7th house:

• 2nd house from lagna = 8th from the 7th → the break of the marriage. A planet owning, occupying or aspecting the 2nd in Navamsha can try to cut the marriage off.
• 6th house from lagna = 12th from the 7th → loss of the marriage.
• 12th house from lagna = 6th from the 7th → shows quarrels, but does not by itself end the marriage.

In Kerry's Navamsha (Aquarius lagna): the 2nd is Pisces, owned by Jupiter; the 6th is Cancer, owned by Moon. These two planets can end the marriage.

• Moon Dasha, Jupiter Antardasha (1982–83) → he turned to his political career, his wife grew frustrated with it and left. They began living apart then, without a formal divorce at that point.

Second Marriage

• The second marriage is seen from the 8th from the 7th — the 2nd house from lagna
• Here: 7th = Leo, so the 8th from it = Pisces

Upapada in the Rashi Chart

• The 12th house of the Rashi chart is what you physically give up; Upapada is the manifestation of that giving. Marriage is giving up one's independence for the bond of family and lineage — so Upapada in the Rashi chart shows the marriage.
• The 2nd lord from Upapada is the bringer of marriage. In Kerry's chart the 2nd from Upapada is Leo, so its lord Sun brings the marriage — the same planet the Navamsha gives.
• Remedy for a delayed marriage: fast on the weekday of the Upapada lord, and at the end of the fast pray to the 2nd lord from Upapada.
• For marriage, read the Upapada in the Rashi chart together with the 7th house of the Navamsha. Upapada of the Rashi chart matters most when timing with the Rashi chart's Narayana Dasha.
