Rahu in 2nd House

• 2nd house: Speech, food, family, resources, right eye
• Rahu in 2nd:

  • Food: Danger of food poisoning; Rahu represents foreign/unusual foods, poisons
  • Maraka implications: 2nd house is a maraka sthana; Rahu here becomes a strong maraka
  • If malefics also have graha drishti (planet aspect) on the 2nd house → poisoning becomes a real danger

Example 1 — Mother's Illness (Mitnala's Chart)

Step 1: Identify the Annual Chakra (D12 SC Dasha)

For the year of the event (around July 2005), the person is in their 37th year. The SC Dasha is calculated from the D12 (Dvadasamsa = divisional chart for parents).

Step 2: Find "4th from Surya Chakra" = House of Mother

• Surya Chakra = Scorpio (what the world actually does to us)
• 4th from Scorpio = Aquarius
• Aquarius becomes the working lagna for analyzing the mother in this annual period

Step 3: Use Ashtakavarga to Pick Strongest

• In the annual D12 chart, check SAV (Sarva Ashtakavarga) scores for Libra, Leo, Scorpio
• Mercury has the strongest AV score in this chart → Mercury's role is emphasized
• For Aquarius (mother's lagna): Mercury is the 5th and 8th lord
  • 5th house (from Aquarius) = time with children, good moments
  • 8th house (from Aquarius) = sudden problems, hidden enemies, transformation

Step 4: Check Aquarius Lagna (Mother's Annual Lagna)

SAV scores for mother's lagna (Aquarius):

• 5th house = SAV score of 37 = strongest → period of time with children/grandchildren
• 8th house SAV also high → sudden problems emerging
• The combination of 5th house strength (family bonding) and 8th house activation = a period where family comes together because of a health crisis

SAV Score Patterns for Mother's Monthly Lagna (Gemini)

PVNR on Purva Punya (5th house AV):

• If 1st, 5th, 9th houses are strong in AV → even in difficult times, past-life blessings carry you through
