Why D30?: Sun is naisargika Atmakaraka (natural indicator of Atma/vitality). If Sun is afflicted by Rahu, both the naisargika and the Chara Atmakaraka are afflicted by the same malefic. D30 is the chart of evils and serious problems — appropriate varga for this verse.
