Chart: Nov 11, 1965, 7:57 PM IST, Narsapur (84°E48', 16°N34') — Gemini lagna ND starts from: 7th house (Sagittarius) — more planets there than in lagna (Gemini)

Sagittarius Mahadasha (First 6 Years of Life)

Angle 1: Narayana in Sagittarius

• Sagittarius from natal lagna = 7th house of desires and relationships
• Planets in Sagittarius: Venus (5L, 12L) and Mars (6L, 11L)
• Venus in enemy sign (Sagittarius = Jupiter's sign); Mars in friendly sign
• Mars dominates over Venus
• Mars = functional malefic (6L and 11L for Gemini)
• "This is a period of some obstacles and difficulty" (Mars dominant as functional malefic)

Angle 2: Progressed lagna

• ND starts from 7th house → progressed lagna = Gemini itself (unchanged in first dasha)
• Analyze natal chart from Gemini as usual

ND for Divisional Charts

Narayana Dasha can be computed for any divisional chart, not just the Rasi chart:

• D-10 ND: Shows career phases (periods of career growth, setbacks, change)
• D-24 ND: Shows learning phases (when specific kinds of knowledge come)
• D-9 ND: Shows marriage/dharma phases
• D-7 ND: Shows children phases

"For each area of life, use the ND of the relevant divisional chart. This is more specific to YOU (your birth data) and gives you phases for that specific area."

Key limitation: Even for divisional charts, ND gives high-level phases — the antardasha is still months-long. For specific timing within that phase, use:

1. Annual Tithi Pravesha chart
2. Vimshottari dasha (fine-grained)

Combination approach:

"Look at Narayana Dasha for the high-level picture. Use divisional charts + Vimshottari + TP for low-level analysis. The high-level constrains the low-level. Don't predict a great event from a fine-grained technique if the high-level picture (ND) doesn't permit it."

Sahamas and Progressed Lagna Research

PVNR raises this as an open research topic:

Sahamas (mathematical points in the zodiac for specific events):

• Standard practice: use natal chart sahamas in conjunction with Tribhagi Vimshottari or TP charts
• Research question: Can you find sahamas from the progressed lagna (ND-based)?
  • Progress the lagna to the longitude of the natal lagna within the dasha sign
  • Compute sahamas from this progressed point
  • See if Vivaha Sahamam, Bandhana Sahamam, etc. correlate with antardasha timing
• PVNR: "I haven't done experiments, but it's a very good research topic. My gut feeling is there may be correlations."
