Bhoga/Paaka in D6 for Disease Timing & Navamsha as Protection (Purva Punya)
Bhoga and Paaka applied to D6: Moon-Mars AD = Mars with Sun in D6 (Mars gives Sun's results); Sun = lagna lord in 5th (purva punya = recovery). But Bhoga from Moon to Mars falls in 8th house = difficult. Moon-Sun AD = partial recovery (4th lord in 8th from Moon). Moon-Rahu AD = Moon is 12th lord + Rahu in 12th house of D6 = problems at height, possibly 18 months. Moon-Jupiter AD (2008) = 9th lord blessing lagna = excellent recovery period. Navamsha = protection and purva punya. If Navamsa is strong: even heavy D1/D30/D6 afflictions = native recovers. If Navamsa is weak: even small affliction = falls. "If protected from within, even a big blow won't hurt. If Navamsa is weak, a small blow is enough to make you fall." Analysis priority for mental illness: D1 (Moon afflictions) → D30 (psychological root) → D6 (physical timing) → D9 (protection strength). Paryaya Dasa: specific dasha system for D6 timing.
"Navamsa is your protection. It shows all the purva punya — all that protects you. If Navamsa is strong, even if somebody hits you with a big thick stick, you will be fine."
— P.V.R. Narasimha Rao
Example Chart
Bhoga and Paaka in D6 (Disease Timing)
Paaka = Antardasha Lord's Placement from Dasha Lord
Using the Paaka principle (covered in Lesson 67) in D6:
Moon Mahadasha — Mars Antardasha analysis:
- Mars = yogakaraka (4th + 9th lord for this lagna) in Rashi, but also Bhaggesha (disease indicator) in D6
- From Moon (Dasha Lagna): Mars is 7th and 12th lord in 8th house → not favorable
- Mars is with Sun in D6 → Mars will give Sun's results (Paaka principle)
- Sun in Rashi = lagna lord in 5th house = recovery through past karma (purva punya)
- "Lagna lord in 5th house = person recovers because of some good karma done in the past"
- This is a positive signal for recovery
- But from Moon (Dasha Lagna): Sun is 4th lord in 8th house → mitigated within Moon's dasha context
Bhoga analysis (from Dasha lord):
- From Moon (MD lord), the AD lord (Mars/Sun) falls in 8th house → Bhoga not great
- From Mars (AD lord), 8th house falls in Cancer = 12th house from natal lagna in D6
- "Both Bhoga and Paaka point to difficulty — 8th house and 12th house involved"
Conclusion for Moon-Mars period: Some recovery possible but not full; the 8th house placement of the antardasha lord from Moon limits complete healing
Moon-Sun Antardasha
- Sun = lagna lord in 5th (Rashi) = recovery due to past good karma
- But: from Moon, Sun is 4th lord in 8th = somewhat problematic in D6
- "In most other mahadashas, Sun antardasha would be very good. Within Moon mahadasha, it is not great but shows some partial recovery."
- "There will be some recovery after August in the next 5 months — but it may not be full."
Moon-Rahu Antardasha (Later)
- Moon = 12th lord in D6; Rahu is in the 12th house in D6
- "Moon is 12th lord, Rahu is in 12th house — 12th house results will be given to the fullest"
- Rahu also aspects/eclipses Moon in Rashi chart (Bhaggesha role)
- "Even though I want to say she will get well soon, my suspicion is problems may linger for 18 more months" (through Moon-Rahu period)
- Caution: "Forget the Rahu-Ketu Yoga Syndicate" — do not look for complex Rahu-Ketu yoga interpretations; read the chart simply
Moon-Jupiter Antardasha (2008)
- Excellent period: Jupiter = 9th lord in Rashi blessing the lagna
- "This is one thing — in 2008 Jupiter antardasha is coming, and that is excellent"
Navamsa as Protection
Key Principle — Navamsa Shows Purva Punya
"Navamsa is your protection."
- D9 (Navamsha) shows inherent spiritual strength and past-life merit (purva punya)
- If Navamsa is strong: even with heavy afflictions in D1/D30/D6, the native recovers
- If Navamsa is weak: even a small affliction in D1 or D30 will make the native "fall"
- "If you are protected from within (Navamsa strong), even if somebody hits you with a big thick stick, you will be fine. If Navamsa is weak, even a small blow is enough to make you fall."
Application:
- Always check Moon's state in Navamsha when analyzing mental illness
- In this chart: Moon is 9th lord in Aries in Navamsha (relatively better placement)
- "This is one point we missed — Navamsa shows all the purva punya, all that protects you"
Analysis Priority for Mental Illness
- Rashi (D1): Check Moon's afflictions — Mars, Saturn, Ketu, Rahu contacts
- D30: Check Moon's sign → psychological root tendency (Saturn sign = wandering, Mars sign = anger, etc.)
- D6: Check if Moon is disease indicator (12th lord exalted, 12th house afflicted)
- Navamsha (D9): Check Moon's protection and strength — purva punya
Paryaya Dasa of D6
- Paryaya Dasa = the specific dasa system used for D6 timing
- Works like Narayana Dasa but applied specifically to the D6 chart
- Determines which sign/house is activated in D6 for disease
- When a disease house (6th, 8th, 12th) is activated in Paryaya Dasa of D6 AND dasha lord is a Bhaggesha → disease manifests
- "In D6, use Paryaya Dasa to time when the illness actually manifests physically"
Key Rules Summary
| Topic | Rule |
|---|---|
| D30 = subconscious | Root psychological cause; 5-element and chakra mapping |
| D6 = physical disease | Onset and manifestation; use Paryaya Dasa for timing |
| D9 = protection | Navamsa strength = purva punya; weak D9 = vulnerable to even small afflictions |
| Moon paksha | Waning Moon owning kendra = functionally malefic |
| Moon in Saturn sign (D30) | Wandering, ungrounded, anxious mind (air element) |
| Moon in Mars sign (D30) | Anger, irritability, reactive (fire element) |
| Moon in Mercury sign (D30) | Deep attachment, material fears (earth element) |
| 12th lord exalted (D6) | Hospitalization will manifest strongly |
| Long-term disease | Requires 6th AND 8th house involvement (not just 12th) |
| Short-term disease | 12th house alone (hospitalization/confinement, then recovery) |
| Bhaggesha | Planets ruling 6th/8th in D6; when they become dasha lord, disease manifests |
| Rahu eclipsing Moon | Disease aspect; Rahu aspecting Moon from D6 12th house = disease at height |
| Ketu eclipsing Moon | Undiagnosable, mysterious problems |
| Paaka in D6 | AD lord's sign from MD lord = quality of disease period |
| Bhoga in D6 | From MD lord, where does AD lord fall? 8th/12th = difficult period |
| Lagna lord in 5th | Recovery due to past karma (purva punya) |
| Gemstones: right hand | Jupiter group (yellow sapphire, ruby, coral) |
| Gemstones: left hand | Venus group (diamond, pearl, blue sapphire, emerald, hessonite) |
| Wara lord | Check day-lord's placement in D6 for health patterns |
| Chandi Madhyama Charitham | Saturn/Mahalakshmi path — for Saturn-related illness |
| Jupiter antardasha | Often a relief period; check D9 first for purva punya strength |
