Maraka Houses, Killer Planets & Longevity
The 3rd and 8th are the houses of longevity. The 12th from each, the 2nd and 7th, are the loss of longevity: the killer houses. The lord of a killer house in a house of longevity, or the reverse (7th lord in the 8th, 8th lord in the 7th), is a problem. In Sanjay Gandhi's chart Moon is the 7th lord in the 8th and the strongest maraka: the 2nd is empty and Saturn in the 7th cannot kill, being the lagna lord. He died in June 1980, in Moon dasha.
Key principle
3rd and 8th are houses of longevity, of life. And the 12th from there are the loss of longevity: 2nd and 7th are the killer houses. If 8th lord is in 7th, or 7th lord is in 8th, that is a problem.

- Moon is the 7th lord in the 8th house, Leo. Lord of a killer house in the house of longevity.
- The 2nd house holds no planet.
- The 7th house holds Saturn, "but he can't kill" — Saturn is the Lagna lord.
- So Moon is the strongest maraka in the chart, and there is a good chance of death in Moon dasha.
- A student proposed an antardasha. The teacher: possible, but stay at the dasha level.
- The native was born in 1946 and died in June 1980. Moon dasha ran 1973–1983.
