Identifying a Saint's Chart — Moola Dasha & AK Kendradhi Dasha
How to identify a saint from the chart: only benefics in 3H and 6H from Arudha Lagna. Swami Jayendra Saraswati's analysis — benefics dominate 3H/6H from AL, confirming saintly nature (murder charges are likely false). Moola Dasha: shows when past-life karma manifests; 9th lord D-60 quality reveals the nature of dharma carried forward. Atmakaraka Kendradhi Graha Dasha: shows the soul's evolution — when you discover yourself, how you separate from what the soul wants.
"Moola Dasha shows the root cause of events from past life. The D-60 of the 9th lord reveals the quality of dharma carried into this life."
— P.V.R. Narasimha Rao
Example Chart
Swami Jayendra Saraswati (Kanchi Kamakoti Peetha)
Jul 18, 1935 · 7:00 PM IST · Kanchipuram
AL = Pisces. 3H from AL = Taurus (benefics dominate). 6H from AL = Leo (Venus occupying). Confirms saint nature. Mercury 9th lord in Deva D-60 amsha → lofty dharma manifested in Moola Dasha of Mercury (received succession of Kanchi Peetha, learned all Vedic knowledge).

Identifying a Saint's Chart — 3rd and 6th from Arudha Lagna
The Core Rule
3rd and 6th houses from Arudha Lagna show the manifested fighting nature:
- 3rd from AL = initiative to fight; the aggressive instinct
- 6th from AL = ability to finish off the enemy; ruthlessness in action
Benefics vs. Malefics in 3H/6H from AL
| Planets in 3H & 6H from AL | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Both benefics (Ju/Ve/Me/waxing Mo) | True saint; no enmity, no aggressive instinct; walks away from conflict |
| Both malefics (Sa/Ma/Ra/Ke) | Ruthless achiever; aggressive instinct AND ruthless follow-through |
| Malefic in 3H, benefic in 6H | Aggressive instinct, but soft when it comes to acting |
| Benefic in 3H, malefic in 6H | No aggressive instinct, but once decides to fight, is ruthless and finishes the enemy |
When House is Empty
- If a house is empty, look at:
- Nature of the sign: Benefic-owned sign (Ge/Vi/Li/Sg/Aq/Pi/Ta) = benefic influence; Malefic-owned sign = malefic influence
- Sign aspects on that house (secondary)
For Matters of Dharma and Marriage
- Sun behaves as a benefic in 3H/6H analysis, especially when in a friendly sign
- Only Mars, Saturn, Rahu, Ketu are clear malefics for this purpose
Swami Jayendra Saraswati's Chart
- AL = Pisces
- 3H from AL = Taurus (empty, benefic sign; aspected by Jupiter, Mars, Sun — 2 benefics vs 1 malefic)
- 6H from AL = Leo (Venus occupying it; aspected by Jupiter + Mars)
- Conclusion: Predominantly benefic influence → confirms saintly, gentle nature; Mars creates a small malefic tinge but is dominated by benefics
- Implication: Charges of murder are very likely false or framed; murder is against his nature by chart
Moola Dasha — Past Life Karma Manifesting
What Moola Dasha Shows
- Moola Dasha shows when results of past life karma manifest in this life
- Different from Vimshottari (which shows current life events)
- Think of it as: "Why is this happening to me?" → Moola Dasha gives the root cause
How to Use
- Look at the 9th lord (dharma lord) — what kind of D-60 (Shashtiamsa) is the 9th lord in?
- D-60 amsha quality shows the karma from past lives carried by that planet:
- Deva Shashtiamsa = divine, godly karma → will be given a very lofty dharma in this life
- Rakshasa Shashtiamsa = negative, demonic karma → will follow a dark or destructive dharma
- This lofty/dark dharma manifests during the Moola Dasha of the 9th lord
- The placement of the 9th lord in D-60 shows what unfinished karma is carried from past lives
Swami's Chart Example
- 9th lord = Mercury (from Capricorn lagna, 9H = Virgo, lord Mercury)
- Mercury's D-60 = Deva amsha (divine)
- Moola Dasha of Mercury: 1967–1981 (approximately; use 12-year option for Moolatrikona controversy)
- Result: During Mercury Moola Dasha, he received very lofty dharma (being named successor of Kanchi Peetha, learning all Vedic knowledge from Chandrasekhar Saraswati)
Moolatrikona Controversy in Moola Dasha
- If a planet is in its own Moolatrikona sign, count is either 0 or 12 years to compute dasha length
- PVNR recommends: use 12-year option based on experimental verification
Atmakaraka Kendradhi Graha Dasha
What It Shows
- Shows the evolution of the soul within this life
- How you discover yourself; how you separate from what the soul wants; what is happening from the soul's point of view
- Different from Moola Dasha (which shows why something happened = past life root)
- Shows all confusions of the soul, lessons learned, and the soul's discoveries
