How Much Rectification Is Enough?

• With a client, do not spend unneeded effort. If Vimshottari and the static chart satisfy you, stop. Time saved goes to another client or to research
• But know what has been proved. All the work above shows only that the birth time is not wrong by more than 5.5 minutes backward or 5 minutes forward — a 10.5-minute window. "That is not at all narrow."
• If the prediction will use the year's Tithi Pravesha chart, go to that chart first. Find the window in which its divisional lagna holds. Then make sure the natal rectification is at least that tight
• If you use only Narayana Dasha or Vimshottari, this problem does not arise

This case:

• Born in September, so in January he is still in the annual chart that began in 2005
• Tithi Pravesha: August 19, 2005, 6:25:29 AM IST, cast for the birthplace
• Its D10 lagna changes if the time is 2 min 38 sec earlier or 10 minutes later. So the birth time must be known within about 2.5 minutes, not 5.5
• The class assumed that accuracy and tested it with the events of the year itself

Annual TP Dasamsha Analysis (2005 Chart)

The year's chart:

• Hora lord Venus = ruler of the year
• Tithi Ashtottari: Rahu dasha ran before; Venus dasha runs January 6 – March 22; Sun dasha next, then Moon
• TP Rashi: Leo lagna, Sun in lagna. Venus (10th lord) debilitated in Virgo with Jupiter and Ketu. Rahu in the 8th
• TP D10: Scorpio lagna. Venus in Cancer (9th). Saturn and Rahu in Gemini (8th). Sun and Mercury in Leo (10th). Moon in Aries (6th). Jupiter and Ketu in Sagittarius (2nd). Mars in Virgo (11th)
• Arudhas in TP D10: AL Capricorn; A10 Taurus; A5 Gemini; A4, A8 and A9 in Libra; A11 Cancer; A7 Virgo

He was unhappy the whole year. The notice came last week — in Venus dasha.

TP Rashi — the worry

• Rashi is the overall physical existence
• Venus is the 10th lord of career, debilitated, with Jupiter. Jupiter is 5th and 8th lord, and the 8th is strong because it holds a planet. A debilitated 10th lord with the 8th lord: unhappiness and worry about the work
• Sun in the Rashi lagna: in Sun dasha he will be in good spirits. That alone does not promise a new job. For that look at D10

Venus in TP D10 — can he end the job?

• Venus is 7th and 12th lord
• The 7th is maraka from the 6th house of service: an end of the job. The 12th is loss, giving up, compromise. That is his agenda
• He sits in the 9th, the house of protection. With that agenda he withdraws protection. The 9th is the boss, so the trouble can come from a boss
• Venus is also lord of A8, A9 (both in Libra) and A10 (Taurus)
• For a fixed lagna the 9th is also the Badhakasthana. Planets there give changes, uncertainty, instability, and a trouble that cannot be put into words — "as though you are possessed by a spirit"
• A student predicted that he would stay on till March 22, since Venus neither occupies nor owns the 3rd or 8th. The teacher: the 3rd shows a short break in work and the 8th a long break, but the 7th alone can terminate a job. Then the person leaves and joins elsewhere at once. With the 3rd and 8th not involved, he will not be out of work for long. Expect a quick transition

A9 + A8 + A4 together — fortune compromised

• The three are together in Libra, the 12th house. The 12th-house placement does not mean much here. What matters is that these arudhas are together
• A8 is a terrible pada in a career chart, except for spiritual pursuits. Any arudha joined with A8 is compromised
• A9 with A8 is like the 9th lord with the 8th lord — a bad yoga
• A9 = tangible fortune: a good boss, support from the boss, someone offering a job unasked. A8 = tangible suffering, pain, pressure. Together: obstacles in letting the fortune manifest
• A4 with A8: not much happiness or protection in career this year
• From AL (Capricorn) they are in the 10th. Arudhas in a quadrant from AL give their results in full
• The placement of arudha padas counts more from AL than from lagna
• So the bosses do not protect him this year. Venus, lord of the sign, brings this out in his dasha

A10 — the job itself is sound

• A10 is alone in Taurus, in no yoga with another arudha
• It is in the 5th from AL. "Any Arudha that is in a trine from Arudha Lagna, that Arudha will prosper."
• Venus also owns A10. A planet tied to both A9 and A10 gives a Raja Yoga of a very material kind
• So Venus gives a bad yoga and a Raja Yoga. He will give both results

A5 — no recognition this year

The boss not standing up for him is A9. Not being recognised for his work is A5.

• A5 is in Gemini, the 6th from AL
• The 6th shows obstacles and overcoming them. The result depends on the sign
  • Malefic sign (Mars's or Saturn's) in the 3rd or 6th from AL: the arudha gives its result through a fight. A9 there: a war-like situation comes and the boss stands up and says, "he cannot go"
  • Benefic sign there: not auspicious. It is the same as with planets — malefics in the 3rd and 6th are good, benefics are bad
• Gemini and Virgo count as benefic signs, though only half benefic since Mercury is mixed. Jupiter's and Venus's signs are fully benefic
• Saturn and Rahu sit in A5. Judge them two ways:
  • Inherent nature: Mars, Sun, Mercury and Jupiter give recognition. Saturn and Rahu say, "why put him on a high pedestal? De-recognise him so that he works hard and burns his karma faster."
  • Agenda: they own the 4th house (Aquarius), the 12th from the 5th. Their agenda for recognition is to withdraw it
• "Unfortunately, this is a year when he will not be recognized for all the good works he has done."

All of this matches what happened, so the time is most likely accurate.

Which House Gives a New Job?

Venus can end the job. Can he give a new one?

Ruler of the year

A student's point, accepted: as king of the year, Venus can give a result even where his link to the matter is secondary or tertiary. He is also the 10th lord of the TP Rashi chart and sits in a trine in D10.

The houses

• 6th — the overall house of service; all the effort you put in after you join; overcoming obstacles
• 10th — the actual accomplishment, the work you get done
• 5th — getting the job

"You will get a new job if somebody recognizes that you are capable."

• Once you are in a job, you continue even if their opinion of you dips a little. To continue, the 6th and 10th matter
• When you come from outside, the bar is set high. You have to impress the interviewers. "Impressing somebody is 5th house."
• So the 5th house, the 5th from AL, and A5 are crucial for a new opportunity
• The 9th house and D9 also count — you must be fortunate. Trines show new opportunity. But impressing somebody matters more than fortune

Venus's credentials

• Rāśi dṛṣṭi on lagna (Cancer aspects Scorpio) and graha dṛṣṭi on AL in Capricorn: the wish to give a new beginning
• Owns A10 and sits in A11 (Cancer). A11 is in a quadrant from AL, A10 in a trine: gainful employment
• 6th house: his dispositor Moon is in the 6th, and he has argala on the 6th
• 5th house: argala on it, and he is in another trine
• 5th from AL (Taurus): he owns it
• A5: he is in the 2nd from A5, a nourishing argala. A5 is in the 12th from him. A planet spends its resources on an arudha that is 12th from it
• Venus is also Putrakaraka. Putrakaraka shows someone taking a liking to you

Conclusion: Venus dasha favours giving up the present job and also favours getting a new one.

Business?

• Moon, the 9th lord, is in the 6th. 9th lord in the 6th or 6th lord in the 9th, lagna lord in the 9th or 9th lord in lagna: the person can be independent, his own boss
• The teacher's reading here: some contracting work is possible, but mostly service
• The class notes put it this way: the 6th house is strong with a planet (Moon) and the 7th is empty, so starting a business is a remote possibility. Moon as 9th lord in the 6th gives some independence within the work
• In passing: 9th lord in the 8th is a combination for misfortune. Bosses desert the person when help is needed

Timing the New Job Within the Year

Saturn and Rahu are held in check

• What was said of Saturn and Rahu in A5 holds for the year as a whole, and it showed fully in the Rahu dasha that ran before Venus. That is when his recognition disappeared
• In Venus dasha it is different. Mercury, lord of A5, is the planet responsible for A5. Venus is king of the year, a friend of Mercury, lord of the 5th from AL, with argala on the 5th and on A5. Both want to promote A5
• Venus and Mercury are friends of Saturn and Rahu. So Saturn and Rahu compromise on their agenda and behave better

A7 in a job search

• The 7th house is your friends and colleagues. A7 is the tangible form of your relations with them — networking
• A7 is for business, and business is networking. But networking is more than business. In a job search A7 is very important

• Send the resume out now, in mass. Do not wait for the month to end
• "Network like mad. Every day when you wake up, think of Mars."

• Venus dasha is running and Venus rules the year, so the most important event of the whole year falls between January 6 and March 22
