BPHS Ch.33 v61-72: 11th Benefic=Profitable+Siblings, Malefic=Bad-Means Gains+Famous; 12th Benefic=Good Expenses, Malefic=Bad Expenses; Ketu in 12th+Benefic=MOKSHA; Ketu+Aries/Sag=Merges in God; Deity by Planet with Ketu: Sun=Rudra, Moon=Gauri, Venus=Lakshmi, Mars=Subrahmanya, Merc/Sat=Vishnu, Jupiter=Dakshinamurti, Rahu=Durga/Kali

11th from Karkamsa: benefic = "Pratro saukhya yuto" (happy with siblings, D3) + "Sarvakaryasulabhakrut" (profitable in all endeavors, D10); malefic = "Kumarga ladhukrut" (profits through devious/illegal path) + "Vikhyataha vikrami" (famous and bold regardless). "11th house always gives gains — planet's nature determines the path." 12th from Karkamsa: benefic = good expenditure (planet's lordship = cause; 4th lord = luxury/house, 9th lord = temple/religion); malefic = expenses on bad causes (6th lord = litigation/enemies, 8th lord = disease/debt). D2 (wealth chart) + planet connects to other divisional chart areas. Exalted/own benefic in 12th = good loka (realm of consciousness) after death. Ketu in 12th from Karkamsa: "Ketu = planet of detachment, dispassion, spiritual liberation; 12th = letting go of ego." With functional benefic aspect = Moksha (liberation). Ketu in Aries or Sagittarius in 12th + benefic = Saayujya (merging in God) — "1st and 9th signs = Dharma Trikona; fiery signs = mission-driven; even dharma warriors can get moksha." Ketu alone (no benefic) or with malefic = no moksha. Deity worship by planet with Ketu in 12th from Karkamsa (see in D20): Sun = Rudra/Shiva (fiery, destroying ignorance); Moon = Gauri/Parvati; Venus = Lakshmi (Moksha Lakshmi = 8th form); Mars = Subrahmanya/Kartikeya/Muruga; Mercury or Saturn = Vishnu (Krishna, Rama, Narasimha); Jupiter = Dakshinamurti/Sadashiva (gentle knowledge path); Rahu = Durga/Kali ("tamasic deities work on stubborn practitioners; force discipline; fast progress though rough"); Ketu alone = Ganesha or Skanda. "Sattvic deities work on those already in sattva; Tamasic fierce deities work on stubborn tamasic practitioners — they don't compromise, they force progress quickly." PVNR wrote detailed article with 15-20 saint examples on this topic.

"Ketu in the 12th from Karkamsa, with a functional benefic aspecting — Parashara says that is Moksha. Ketu is the planet of detachment and dispassion. The 12th house is letting go. The 12th from Karkamsa is the letting go of the I-ness itself. When Ketu occupies that position and a benefic blesses it, the person is ready — the soul has earned the right to dissolve. And when Ketu is in Aries or Sagittarius, the Dharma Trikona signs, even a mission-driven soul can achieve Saayujya — merging in God."

— P.V.R. Narasimha Rao

BPHS Ch.33 — Verse 61: Benefic in 11th from Karkamsa

Sanskrit: "Swamshaad ekadasesthane shubhakrita yutekshate, pratro saukhya yuto balaha sarvakaryasulabhakrut"

Condition: Functional benefic conjoining or aspecting the 11th house from Karkamsa

Result:

  1. "Pratro saukhya yuto" — happy with siblings; good relationship with siblings (→ see in D3)
  2. "Sarvakaryasulabhakrut" — profitable and fortunate in all endeavors (→ see in D10)

Why: 11th house = fulfillment of desires, profits, gains; Kama Trikona culmination. Any planet there (benefic or malefic) gives gains materially; if benefic → through righteous path.

BPHS Ch.33 — Verse 62: Malefic in 11th from Karkamsa

Sanskrit: "Yekadhe sa paapetu kumarga ladhukrunnaraha vichyato vikramiteva jayete na trakamseyaha"

Condition: Functional malefic in the 11th house from Karkamsa

Result:

  • "Kumarga ladhukrut" — profits through a devious/bad/illegal path
  • "Vikhyataha vikrami chaiva" — nevertheless, famous and bold/brave
  • No doubt (jayete na): he will profit, he will be known, he will be bold — but by wrong means

Why: 11th from any reference = gains/profits. A malefic gives gains but the motivation/method is problematic. The 11th house will always give gains regardless of who occupies it; the planet's nature determines the path.

BPHS Ch.33 — Verse 63-64: 12th from Karkamsa (Expenses/Path After Death)

Verse 63 — Benefic in 12th from Karkamsa:

  • "Sadgraho sat jayate" — good expenditure; money spent on good causes
  • 12th house = house of letting go, expenses, compromise
  • The planet's lordship determines what is spent on: 4th lord in 12th = luxury house/jewels; 5th lord = education for children; 9th lord = religious/temple construction; 7th lord = business partnership or spouse's needs

Verse 64 — Malefic in 12th from Karkamsa:

  • "Asadgraho sat jayate" — expenses on bad matters
  • 6th lord in 12th = expenses for litigation, fighting enemies, medical bills
  • 8th lord in 12th = expenses from chronic disease or hidden debt

Which divisional chart:

"D2 is the chart of wealth/money. A planet in the 12th from Karkamsa in D2 shows financial expenses. What the planet shows (from D6 for disease, D9 for marriage-related, D20 for spiritual) tells you the cause of the expense. You can mix divisional charts through the planet — it connects two different areas of life."

— PVNR

BPHS Ch.33 — Verse 65: Exalted/Own Benefic in 12th from Karkamsa → Good Loka

Condition: A functional benefic in the 12th from Karkamsa AND that planet is either exalted or in own sign

Result: "Sadgatiur jayate peetasya yoloka mama apniya" — person's soul goes to a good loka (realm of consciousness) after death

Teaching — 14 Lokas:

  • 7 worlds above + 7 worlds below (including Earth)
  • These are realms of consciousness, not physical places; consciousness can dwell in them even while alive
  • After death: soul either gets stuck in denial (attached to old body), gets reborn, or goes to a higher realm based on karma

Which divisional chart: Ambiguous. D30 (sins) or D20 (spiritual progress) are candidates. PVNR: difficult to confirm with empirical examples (cannot verify post-death states), so leave open.

BPHS Ch.33 — Verse 66-67: Ketu in 12th from Karkamsa → Moksha

Verse 66 — Ketu in 12th from Karkamsa + functional benefic aspect:

  • "Ketu sadatujayate muktihi" — person gets Moksha (liberation)
  • Why Ketu: Ketu = planet of detachment, dispassion, spiritual liberation; South Node = turning away from material
  • Why 12th house: 12th = letting go; letting go of the ego (Atmakaraka sense of 'this is I') leads to merging in Brahman

Verse 67 — Ketu in Aries or Sagittarius in 12th + benefic aspect:

  • "Saayujya padam apniyat" — person merges in God
  • Why Aries and Sagittarius: 1st and 9th signs of natural zodiac = both Dharma Trikona; fiery signs = mission-driven; even those with a strong dharma mission can get moksha if Ketu is there

When Ketu alone (no benefic, or with malefic):

  • "Natha dayate muktihi shubhalokam napashyati" — no moksha; does not reach a higher world
  • But PVNR: if Ketu is strong (own sign, exalted) and the malefic influence is weak, person may still get moksha — "the bad influence may not totally suppress Ketu"

Deity Worship Based on Planet with Ketu in 12th from Karkamsa

See in D20 (Vimsamsa) — chart of spiritual progress and religious activities

Planet with Ketu in 12th from Karkamsa (D20)Deity for Moksha path
SunShiva (Rudra form) — fiery, destroying ignorance
MoonGauri/Parvati — Divine Mother, consort of Shiva
VenusLakshmi — especially Moksha Lakshmi (8th form); begins with Dhanalakshmi, progresses to liberation
MarsSubrahmanya / Kartikeya / Skanda / Muruga — commander of the gods; initiative + drive toward God
Mercury or SaturnVishnu (and avatars: Krishna, Rama, Narasimha, etc.)
JupiterShiva (Dakshinamurti / Ishana / Sadashiva) — compassionate teacher form; gentle/knowledge-based path
RahuDurga / Kali — Tamasic deities; work on stubborn, tamasic practitioners; force discipline
Ketu alone (no other major influence)Ganesha or Skanda (Kanda)
Saturn in malefic sign (from lagna)Also Durga/Kali

Why Rahu → Durga/Kali:

"Some people need a gentle teacher, some need a fierce one. Sattvic deities work on those already in sattva. Tamasic (fierce) deities like Kali work on stubborn, tamasic practitioners — they don't compromise, they force progress quickly. It may be rough, but it is faster."

— PVNR

Important nuance: Rahu may be functional benefic or malefic (judge from Lagna, not absolutely). Even though Ketu and Rahu are always together, one dominates depending on aspects, company, sign.
