Gemstones:
- If the planet is good in a particular area of life → gemstone increases the good
- If the planet is bad in a particular area of life → gemstone increases the bad
- Not universally safe; need to check planet's role in every area of life before prescribing
Propitiation (puja, mantra, worship):
- Sattvic propitiation (no specific request; just pure devotion): Always safe. Gods give whatever is best for you.
- Rajasic propitiation (specific request: health, job, marriage): Safe for any planet. If planet is bad → reduces bad results. If good → increases good results.

Ishta Devata — Finding from Navamsa
Method: The 12th house from Atmakaraka in Navamsa shows the Ishta Devata (the deity who will give moksha).
When the 12th house is empty: Take the stronger lord of that sign.
- Can take either lord, but the one aspecting the sign is easier to start with (results come faster)
- The stronger lord = the ultimate moksha giver; the aspecting planet = easier to approach initially
Special case: If Lagna itself falls in the 12th from Atmakaraka in Navamsa → the person is inherently spiritual; "self itself is God"; naturally tends toward self-inquiry.
