Sathya Sai Baba Chart Analysis — Spiritual Combinations & Vishnu Avatar Rule

Vishnu Avatar Combination (Devlokamsa)

Explaining the past still interests astrologers. The example given is the birth chart of Śrī Kṛṣṇa, some 5,000 years back.

• Parāśara gave a clear combination: every avatāra of Vishnu is born with a rāja yoga between at least two planets that are both in Devalokāṁśa.
• Devalokāṁśa, as defined in class: the planet is in own sign, exaltation or mūlatrikoṇa in 7 of the 10 divisional charts of the Daśavarga scheme.
• That is rare for one planet. Two such planets are extremely rare. The two forming a yoga together is rarer still.

"So if we know roughly when Sri Krishna was born, we can search in the vicinity."

• Some variables in our understanding of the rule are still open. Once they are settled such puzzles can be solved.

The companion rule — Siṁhāsanāṁśa

Given later, while looking for yogas in the 1966 chart:

• Siṁhāsanāṁśa = a score of 5 out of 10 in Daśavarga.
• A rāja yoga between two planets both in Siṁhāsanāṁśa makes a great emperor who rules the whole earth.
• Parāśara told Maitreya that Śālivāhana would be born with it in the future, and that among contemporaries Yudhiṣṭhira had it.
• Parāśara also gave results for the 9th lord in each aṁśa. The 9th is dharma, the guidance received from the ṛṣis.
• Two of them, as the published class notes record: 9th lord in Pārijātāṁśa — a spiritual person; 9th lord in Siṁhāsanāṁśa — a dharmic person.

Sathya Sai Baba — Scorpio Lagna, the 8th House and Ketu

A student asked whether Sathya Sai Baba of Puttaparthi has a special yoga. The teacher opened the chart. No birth data was read out in class.

Rāśi chart

• Lagna is Scorpio, the 8th sign of the natural zodiac — an inherently occult lagna.
• Four planets are in lagna.
• The 8th is the house of occult ability and occult knowledge. The 8th lord is in lagna. Rahu is in the 8th house.
• Ketu is exalted in the 2nd house, the vāk sthāna. Ketu there gives intuitive speech. It is a powerful, magnetic speech.

"When he speaks, people are basically like they are charmed."

• Scorpio rising with Rahu and Ketu on the 8th-house axis: someone with mystic abilities.

Navāṁśa

• Ātmakāraka is Jupiter.
• The 12th from the Ātmakāraka holds Ketu and also the Navāṁśa lagna.

"If the 12th from Atmakaraka has lagna, the person will be a saint kind of person. And if Ketu is there, he will get moksha."

• Both are there. He is a saint who wants nothing materially and is happy with what he has. With Ketu there he has a good chance of mokṣa.
• One blemish, pointed out when comparing with Ramana: here Ketu is with a malefic, Saturn.

Moksha and Siddhis — The Rules Used

Ketu in the 12th from the Ātmakāraka in Navāṁśa

• According to Parāśara: if Ketu is in the 12th from the Ātmakāraka and has no aspects, or only benefic aspects, the person gets mokṣa.
• With malefic aspects he may be close to mokṣa and still not get it in this life. He may have more lives to go.
• If the Navāṁśa lagna is in the 12th from the Ātmakāraka, the person is a saint.
• In the charts of some great souls the teacher has seen Ketu with the Ātmakāraka, in the 1st from him, instead of the 12th. One of the two is very likely to be found.

Siddhis come from the mokṣa trikoṇa

• Siddhis — the ability to do miracles in the material world — are seen from the 4th, 8th and 12th, especially the 8th and 12th.
• Rahu or Ketu in the 8th or 12th: occult abilities, miracles, siddhis may be there.
• Rahu in the 8th can equally give many setbacks in life. It could be either. Look at the other factors.

Liberated souls who come back

• Some souls are already liberated and are born again to benefit humanity. Once born they are bound again — mother, father, all the bondages.
• Their past karma brings situations that liberate them fast. For some it takes a few decades; for some it happens by the age of ten.
• There is a risk. One mistake can wipe out the good karma of many lives, and the soul is stuck being born again and again.
• They know the risk. Out of compassion, and in tune with the Divine Will, they choose the right mother, the right father and the right time.
• Once liberated they are not touched by any karma. The individual will is gone and the mind is tuned to the Divine Will.
• Their charts show a strong Ketu influence on important houses.

If such a chart comes to you

• A jīvanmukta would not come to an astrologer.
• A 12- or 15-year-old who has not yet woken up may. Past karma helps but guarantees nothing; the tapasya still has to be done.

"If you think that he has a good chance of being liberated, you should try to suggest the Ishta Devata."

• Do not bother with the deity of the 5th lord in Daśāṁśa for such a person. He does not need a career or a livelihood.

After Death — The Chart of the Moment of Death

A student asked whether a chart can show where a person goes after death.

• The teacher is not an expert. Sanjay Rath developed this from hints in the classics and from tradition, and presented it with examples of saints and sinners.
• Cast a chart for the exact date, time and place of death. Rules using several parameters, the horā lagna among them, show where the soul goes.
• The soul may stay around after the body is gone, held by its bondages — for days, months, years or centuries.
• Then it stays in a temporary place, and then a loka is decided. There are 14 worlds: seven lower than ours and six higher, with ours in the middle. Lower worlds are for the sinner, higher for one whose deeds were good.
• After years or millennia there, according to the accumulated karma, birth is taken again.

"These are things where you don't have a way to verify what you are seeing. Take it with a pinch of salt for now."

Choosing the place and time of death

• Asked whether people deliberately choose where to die: there are many instances in India of spiritual people who wanted to leave the body at a particular place and time. They told their followers the time, people gathered, and they left the body.
• Why that place or time, the teacher does not know. A liberated soul is one with the Supreme Soul and knows the whole purpose of creation, so there could be a higher reason.
