D-10 Dasamsa Analysis for Saints

This is the natal daśāṁśa, not the annual one.

Dharma-Karma Adhipati Yoga

• D-10 lagna is Scorpio. 9th lord = Moon, 10th lord = Sun. They are together in Pisces, the 5th house — the house of following, power and abilities.
• 9th lord and 10th lord together = Dharma-Karma Adhipati Yoga. Pisces is a very sāttvic sign, so the yoga concerns something sāttvic.

Ketu Is the Lagna Lord

• Ketu is with them. He is the mokṣa kāraka, so the yoga may concern spirituality.
• Scorpio has two lords. Mars is with one planet (Mercury); Ketu is with two (Sun and Moon). Ketu is with more planets, so Ketu is the lord of Scorpio here.
• So lagna lord, 9th lord and 10th lord are together. Lagna lord with 10th lord is a Raja Yoga; lagna lord with 9th lord is a Raja Yoga. The yoga is far more powerful with the lagna lord in it.

Direction of the Karma — the Dikpāla of Each Daśāṁśa

Whether the Raja Yoga runs in a spiritual, financial or engineering line is seen from the deities ruling the daśāṁśas.

• Sun (10th lord, karma) — Ananta aṁśa. Ananta rules the upward direction, beyond the eight physical directions (Brahma rules the downward). Ananta shows spirituality.
• Moon (9th lord, dharma) — Agni aṁśa. Agni shows transformation of some kind — engineers, lawmakers. Here it is the 9th lord, not the 10th, who is in Agni aṁśa, and it is Moon, who stands for society. He sees his dharma as facilitating a change in society, not only as doing pūjās and running temples.
• The general rule: the 9th lord in Agni aṁśa in the D-10 makes it the person's dharma to transform people. In a saint's chart, he transforms people spiritually.
• Ketu (lagna lord) — Ananta aṁśa.
• Two of the three planets in the yoga — Sun and Ketu, kārakas of dharma and mokṣa — are in Ananta aṁśa. The karma is directed to the spiritual side.

What the D-10 Adds to the Rāśi

• From the rāśi chart you know he is a sādhu who hurts nobody, and — from Parivrāja Yoga — a sannyāsī who renounced the world.
• From the daśāṁśa you know he is a greatly respected leader with achievements: the Raja Yogas fall in the 5th house, in the 9th from the D-10 Arudha Lagna, and on Ghaṭi Lagna.
