Jaya Yoga — Victory Over Enemies

Definition

• 6th lord debilitated + 10th lord exalted = Jaya Yoga. Jaya means victory.
• The 10th is your achievement. The 6th is the process of overcoming enemies.
• The 10th lord need not be exalted. If he is in own sign or Moolatrikona you still get the results, "though not in its purest form". In short: the 6th lord should be weak and the 10th lord strong.

"6th lord is your enemies, and neecha means they are depressed, they are sad. Your enemies are sad, which means you win."

What It Gives

• Someone fighting a court case for a long time suddenly wins when the antardasha giving Jaya Yoga comes.
• Someone sitting a competitive examination does very well.
• A political leader with Jaya Yoga whose dasha has just come: he wins and his enemies lose.

When

• In the dasha or antardasha of the 6th lord or the 10th lord.
• If one of the two halves is spoiled (a 10th lord in own sign but afflicted), the other planet is the more likely giver.

From Which Lagna

• A student asked. Only from Lagna — not from Arudha Lagna, Chandra Lagna or any other lagna.
• In this class it is read in a D-10 (Bush) and in a Dasha Pravesha Chakra (PVNR, Part 2).

Exalted 6th Lord Is Not Jaya Yoga

• A student had read that a strong 6th lord wins every case. "That's not exactly true." A strong 6th lord means he will have to fight a lot of cases — and he will keep fighting, he will not give up.
• Victory can still come, but after a lot of fight. A strong 6th lord also means the enemies are strong.
• "If you have 6th lord debilitated, it's always a blessing. Then victory will come very easily."

The Yoga in the Dasamsa

• D-10 lagna is Cancer.
• 6th lord Jupiter is in the 7th house, Capricorn — debilitated.
• 10th lord Mars is in the same sign — exalted.
• "The combination is there without any modification." Had Mars only been in his own house, it would still be Jaya Yoga, but not in its purest form.
• Expect victory over enemies in Jupiter dasha or Mars dasha.

Which Dasha to Use

• For "when does Jupiter's or Mars's period come" he goes back from Narayana Dasha to the nakshatra dashas.
• In the rasi chart the 7th house is Capricorn and its lord Saturn is in lagna. Vimshottari may be applied, but the best is Dwisaptati Sama Dasha.
• Dwisaptati Sama: Jupiter mahadasha from April 2000 to April 2009.

What Happened

• "There will be ups and downs, but overall these 9 years are a very good period in career." His enemies in career will be depressed; "he will give a lot of sorrow to his enemies."
• John McCain did well at the start of the primaries — New Hampshire and a couple of other states. Around March–April 2000 Bush came from behind and took the lead. That is when the dasha began.
• He leaves office in January 2009. Both terms fall inside Jupiter dasha.

The Bush chart was shown only as a natal example of the yoga. The same yoga is then read in PVNR's Dasha Pravesha Chakra, where it is given by Sagittarius lord Jupiter and Aries lord Mars — so the Sagittarius or the Aries antardasha can deliver it (Part 2).

Sun = Karaka for Service; 7th House in D-10 = Business

Sun

• The Sun is karaka for career, and for service in particular.
• Puzzle chart: Sun in the 12th from the progressed lagna, in Marana Karaka Sthana, was the first pointer to a job.

6th and 7th

• The 6th house is service.
• The 7th is the 2nd from the 6th — maraka for it. It is also kama, desire.
• "7th house can give a business, or if somebody is in service, it can bring the end of service."
• In the Dasamsa: "6th house is service. 7th house — it can be loss of service or it can be business."
• Puzzle chart: the bhoga of the sub-period fell in the 7th of the D-10. Starting a business, or losing the job. He was laid off.
• Reverse case, the 2005–06 Dasamsa: the Sun is the 6th lord and the 6th is strong, so "he does not show business or anything … this year there will be service only."

Short Break and Long Break in the Dasamsa

• These are read from planets in those houses in the Dasamsa of the annual chart, when their dasha runs.
• Do not predict retirement from this alone.
• A man just laid off, with the dasha planet in the 8th: be less hopeful and give more serious mantras.
• Puzzle chart: the dasha lord Venus in the 3rd of the annual D-10 — a short break.

D-10 Career Analysis — Job-Hunting Rules

What Kind of Job vs Getting One

• 2nd, 6th and 10th houses (the artha trikona) show what kind of job you get and how you do it. "That is the work." The 10th is karma — doing something.
• Doing comes after you are hired. To land a job you must first be recognised: somebody sees your résumé and thinks you are good.
• For that look at the 5th house, A5, and the 5th from Arudha Lagna.

"The planets in the 5th house in the Dasamsa have a good chance of bringing a job."

Reading the Planet That Brings It

• Its sign shows the circumstances in which the job comes. In a sign bad for it: some negative circumstance.
• Debilitated: lower salary, a lowering of status, not the perfect job.
• If it owns the 12th: settling for less, a voluntary adjustment. The 12th is loss, but also giving something up — resigning to do something else, or accepting a lesser job.
• An exalted dispositor Saturn: routine, laborious work, done willingly.
• A10 is Rajya Pada, the tangible work. A11 is the tangible gain — "this is your salary basically." The planet owning them carries those.
• A10 also shows what has been accomplished in the career. A dasha of the sign holding A10 brings accomplishments.

Status

• Professional status is seen from Arudha Lagna in the Dasamsa. A dasha planet in the 12th from it: loss of image (Part 13).

Enemies at Work

• Exalted 6th lord in a running dasha: the enemies are strong and it is their good period. With Saturn and Rahu: harsh means and scheming.

The Boss

• The 9th house. "If you are looking at career, having a good boss is the most important thing. If you have a good boss, you are all set. Whatever else is happening in the workplace, it doesn't really matter."
• Lagna lord in the 9th with the 9th lord in lagna: he is good to his boss and the boss protects him.

Rasi and Dasamsa Together

• Rasi = physical existence. Dasamsa = the professional environment. Read the rasi too: a man out of work is physically uneasy.
