AK Placement — Rashi Chart & Navamsa Relationships

How to read AK relationships: 6/8/12 from AK = friction, mutual quadrant = promotion, conjunct = strongest union. Navamsa AK shows the ideological level. Natural friendship modifies the thumb rule — Sun + Saturn in 6H from each other can be good. Applied to George Bush Sr. and Vivekananda.

"If two planets are Sun and Jupiter, then 6H is bad. But if the planets are Sun and Saturn, is it good for them to be badly placed? Yes. Because they are enemies, what that means is those two souls come from two totally different paths."

— P.V.R. Narasimha Rao

Example Charts

George Bush Sr.
Jun 12, 1924 · 11:40 AM · Connecticut
AK = Sun; PuK = Mercury → both in 10H (Raj Yoga through karma, not lagna/5H). GK = Saturn in 6H from AK → constant rivals. PiK = Jupiter in mutual quadrant with AK → support from elders. Pattern: rose as VP first, then President.
Time:
Swami Vivekananda
Jan 12, 1863 · 6:33 AM · Kolkata
AK = Sun in lagna. PiK = Rahu → badly placed from AK → lost father very young. BK = Saturn in 6H from Sun → Sun/Saturn are enemies, so 6H is actually good — Ramakrishna (Saturn energy) helps overcome ego of enlightenment.

AK Placement: Rashi vs. Navamsa

Rashi Chart — Physical Level

  • See where AK is placed relative to other karakas
  • 6th, 8th, 12th from AK = difficult relationship with that karka
  • 4th, 7th, 10th (mutual quadrant) = those souls promote each other
  • Together (conjunct) = strongest soul-union

George Bush Sr. (Jun 12 1924, 11:40 AM, Connecticut):

  • AK = Sun; PuK = Mercury → both in 10H (not lagna/5H, but still Raj Yoga through following in karma)
  • GK (gnati) = Saturn in 6H from AK → constant rivals, strong opposition in life
  • PiK = Jupiter in mutual quadrant with AK → support from elders, sponsored by authorities
  • Pattern: rose as Vice President first (patronage from elders), then President

Navamsa Chart — Dharmic/Ideological Level

  • AK's navamsa placement = the ideology of your soul; what your dharma is
  • Other karakas placed well/badly from AK in navamsa = souls who share/oppose your ideology

Vivekananda (chart in Jagannatha Hora):

  • AK = Sun in lagna (Rashi)
  • PiK = Rahu → badly placed from AK → lost father very young; no fatherly figure early in life

"When a karka is badly placed from Atmakaraka, there are several possibilities: not having a good relationship with father, shunning father, or also losing father very early."

— PVNR
  • AmK (counsel) = Moon in quadrant from Sun → compassionate advisors; in navamsa also well placed → advisors share his ideology
  • BK (brothers/guru) = Saturn in 6H from AK → needs explanation:

Natural Enmity Modifies the Thumb Rule

"If two planets are Sun and Jupiter, then 6H is bad. But if the planets are Sun and Saturn, is it good for them to be badly placed? Yes. Because they are enemies, what that means is those two souls come from two totally different paths."

— PVNR

The simple rule "quadrant = good, 6H = bad" is only a thumb rule and depends on natural friendship:

AK + KarkaPlanetary Pair6H from AK meaning
AK = Sun, BK = JupiterFriendsBad — guru shares different belief; conflict
AK = Sun, BK = SaturnEnemiesActually GOOD — guru needed to overcome ego obstacles
AK = Sun, GK = MarsFriendsBad — determined enemies, real obstruction
AK = Sun, GK = SaturnEnemiesLess problematic

Vivekananda's case (BK = Saturn in 6H from Sun AK):

  • Sun and Saturn are enemies
  • Saturn in 6H from Sun = actually good for overcoming obstacles
  • Vivekananda had strong ego/pride from enlightenment → needed a guru (Saturn=yogi/ascetic) to help him overcome that ego
  • Ramakrishna Paramahamsa (Saturn energy) guides him through obstacles

"Overcoming the enemies of atma — if a particular atma has lot of obstacles, you need a guru who helps you to overcome those obstacles."

— PVNR

But GK = Mars (friend of Sun) in 6H:

  • Mars and Sun are friends; friends in 6H from each other = bad
  • → Very determined enemies opposing his ideology; opponents who are equally passionate about their opposing view
