Bush Natal Chart — Dasha Analysis

Applicable Dasha

• Dwi-Saptati Sama Dasha (72 years) applies when the lagna lord is in the 7th or the 7th lord is in lagna. Bush has Cancer lagna with the 7th lord Saturn in lagna.
• Jupiter Dasha runs April 2000 – April 2009. He became President soon after it began and leaves office in January 2009 — the dasha coincides with the presidency.

Why Jupiter Dasha Gave the Presidency

• Gajakesari Yoga: Moon and Jupiter together in Virgo. Result: lasting fame — the name is remembered long after death. It is a common yoga, so closeness decides: Moon is at 23°38′, Jupiter at 25°02′, within 1.5°.
• Raj Yoga: Moon is the lagna lord (a kendra lord) and Jupiter the 9th lord (a kona lord).
• Moon is behind Jupiter, but the closing/separating principle is for mundane and annual charts, not natal ones.
• Peak of the dasha: Jupiter–Moon antardasha, December 2005 – January 2007, roughly 2006. That is when he does the thing he will be remembered for. Ketu at the end of the Graha Malika in the nomination chart says it has to do with pushing the conservative agenda.

Jupiter in Marana Karaka Sthana (3rd House)

• The 3rd is the house of arms, aggression, initiative. Jupiter is a peaceful planet and is awkward there — as Venus, who makes people fall in love, is awkward in the 6th of celibacy, and Mars, who only knows how to make people fight, is awkward in the 7th of marriage.
• The 9th lord in MKS does not mean dharma is destroyed. He follows his dharma — in an unnatural, contrary way.
• His dharma is Jupiterian and Piscean (the 9th is Pisces, the sign of Maharshis): religiousness, spirituality, liberty. Not the materialistic "what is good for the economy" definition. PVNR holds that he sincerely wants to spread these.
• But Jupiter sits in the 3rd, so he spreads them by arms.

• D-60: the karma carried by the 9th lord matters. Jupiter is in Vahni amsa — fire. He wants his dharma to catch on like fire; there is impatience in it.
• A student asks whether this neutralises the MKS. No. It adds fire to the 3rd-house effects: a Jupiter who would not do the 3rd-house job fully now can. In Jupiter Dasha he spreads noble ideals in a fiery way.

Chara Karakas — Why So Many Enemies

• Atmakaraka = Venus — his own soul.
• Putrakaraka = Mars — the souls who follow and support him.
• Gnatikaraka — the souls opposed to him. The software gives Rahu.
• Rahu is at 26°29′, but Rahu is counted backward: 30° − 26°29′ = 3°31′. Saturn is at 3°24′. Same degree, so there is a karaka replacement.
  • At first the higher of the two holds the higher karaka and the lower holds the next (here Rahu = Gnatikaraka, Saturn = Darakaraka).
  • Later in life the lower replaces the higher; the slot it leaves is filled by another karaka — the class notes say a sthira karaka (left for later).
  • When? Around the natural age of the replacing or the replaced planet, or in Atmakaraka-based dashas. PVNR knows no exact method. It comes with a big change in the person's persona.
• So Saturn is now the Gnatikaraka. Saturnine people oppose him: labour, low-income groups, blue-collar people, liberals — hardcore Democrats.
• These things show through the work environment, so look in the Dasamsa: Atmakaraka Venus is in Sagittarius and Saturn in Aries — in trines. The enmity is natural. Those people need no effort to hate him.

Chara Karaka Relationship Rules

• Trines: the relationship works naturally. AK and Putrakaraka in trines → his soul and the souls of his followers help each other prosper without effort.
• Quadrants: it works, but effort is needed to tap it.
• Shadashtaka (6–8) or 2–12: the two cannot contribute to each other. Putrakaraka and Gnatikaraka placed so → the souls of followers and of opponents are not in harmony.
• AK and Darakaraka in the Navamsa: in trines → soulmates, harmony from the bottom of the soul. In quadrants → soulmates, with work to be done. In 6–8 → no spiritual alignment. Do not say "they fight" — fighting is physical; this is at the level of the soul.

Political Party Karakas (Mundane Astrology)

A technique for mundane charts such as the New Year chart of Washington D.C. — judge each party from its karaka.

• Saturn = labour, blue-collar and low-income people; people who are more liberal
• Mars and Jupiter together = big money, big business
• Jupiter, and Ketu, show conservative people

Tithi Pravesha (TP) Chart Analysis

• Sagittarius rises in the annual chart. The dasha used with a TP chart is Tithi Ashtottari.
• The ruler of the year is the Hora lord: Mercury.

Dasamsa of the TP Chart

• Mercury is the lagna lord in the 7th; Venus is the 5th lord in lagna. They aspect each other → Raj Yoga of lagna lord and 5th lord.
• The ruler of the year takes part in a Raj Yoga, so leaving power this year is not likely.
• A student notes Venus also owns the 12th, the stronger of his two signs. PVNR: Venus Dasha (already over, in July) does bring some losses, but the Raj Yoga with Mercury cannot be taken away.

Moon Dasha (about October 10 – December 2)

• Moon is in Shukla paksha, a benefic.
• In the Rasi of the TP chart Moon owns the 8th (Cancer) and sits in the 10th, Virgo. The 8th lord brings setbacks, tension and sudden change — gain as well as loss — into the house of karma: a roller coaster. His ratings fell after the debate in this dasha and Kerry, who had been far behind, made it a close contest.
• But Moon sits in Ghatika Lagna and has rasi drishti on the lagna (all dual signs aspect each other). Associated with both → Yogada. He shows getting power, not losing it. (Mercury is a Yogada too — many planets can be.)
• Sanjay ji read the 8th lord in the 10th as a loss. PVNR: a Moon in GL is very unlikely to remove him from power, though as 8th lord he may prolong things with no clear result.
• PVNR was not fully sure what would happen in November. What could be said with confidence: his bid for power will not end. Either it drags on or he wins. Kerry winning and the matter closing is ruled out.

Mercury Dasha (January)

• This dasha covers the inauguration (January 20). With Mercury there is no ambiguity: a Yogada in the Rasi and a clear Raj Yoga giver in the Dasamsa. He cannot take Bush out of power.
• Kerry's next TP chart (his birthday falls in November–December) had been checked for January: no combination giving power.
• Badhaka applies in TP charts too. Sagittarius is a dual sign, so the 7th is the badhaka sthana. Mercury is the badhakesha sitting in the badhaka sthana, with Sun and Saturn. Sun and Saturn are enemies → clashing political ideologies trying to sway his decisions. Unexpected, inexplicable worries in January–February. They do not take away the Raj Yoga.

Rasi vs Dasamsa

• Rasi = physical existence: what he physically does, and the physical and mental stress he goes through.
• Dasamsa = the environment in which the karma takes place: the advice he gets, what the press prints, what people think.
• Confusion between two advisers arises from the professional environment (Dasamsa), but the confusion itself is in the Rasi chart.

PVNR's View of the Second Term

• With Gajakesari Yoga in the natal chart he may well be remembered differently from how he is seen now — as with Reagan and the "evil empire". History moves over decades.
• PVNR's own guess: he redeems himself in the next term; the Democrats come in 2008.
