Transit Murti System — Swarnamurti (Gold), Rajatamurti (Silver), Tamramurti (Copper), Lohamurti (Iron): When to Propitiate
Transit Murti system: a planet entering a new sign gets a "mood" based on the count from natal Moon to the transit Moon at that exact moment. Count natal Moon → transit Moon: 1/6/11 = Swarnamurti (gold, excellent — gives results willingly); 2/5/9 = Rajatamurti (silver, good); 3/7/10 = Tamramurti (copper, bad — reluctant); 4/8/12 = Lohamurti (iron, terrible — worst mood). Application rules: Swarnamurti in good house = best possible transit, no remedies needed. Lohamurti in good house (e.g., Jupiter in 11H as Loha) = planet should give good results by placement but is "lazy" — propitiation STRONGLY recommended to unlock the potential. "Maximize the bang for your buck — remedies here activate what would otherwise be wasted." Tamra/Lohamurti in bad house (e.g., Saturn in 8H as Loha) = actively hostile — planet in bad mood AND in bad position → worse results; propitiation reduces damage. Swarnamurti in bad house = planet is in good mood, will go easy on you — negative softened. PVNR uses this in annual panchanga readings to identify which transits (1) should be taken advantage of and (2) need propitiation to avoid waste.
"If a planet is in a position to give you good results but is Lohamurti — it's lazy, doesn't want to give them. Propitiate it and it says okay, let me give. That is when remedies give maximum bang for your buck."

Transit Murti System
A practical system for judging the quality of a planet's transit through a sign. Determined at the moment the planet enters a new sign.
How to Calculate
- Note the natal Moon's sign (from the natal chart)
- Note the transiting Moon's sign at the exact moment the planet enters its new sign
- Count from natal Moon to transiting Moon
The Four Murti Classifications
| Count from Natal Moon to Transit Moon | Murti | Quality |
|---|---|---|
| 1st, 6th, 11th | Swarnamurti (Gold) | Excellent |
| 2nd, 5th, 9th | Rajatamurti (Silver) | Good |
| 3rd, 7th, 10th | Tamramurti (Copper) | Bad |
| 4th, 8th, 12th | Lohamurti (Iron) | Terrible |
How to Use
Swarnamurti planet in good house:
- Best possible transit — planet gladly gives its positive results
- No remedies needed
Lohamurti planet in good house (e.g., Jupiter in 11H as Lohamurti):
- Planet should give good results by placement, but it's "lazy" and doesn't want to give them
- Propitiation strongly recommended — the planet will then be pleased and give its results
- "Maximize the bang for your buck" — remedies here unlock potential that would otherwise be wasted
Tamramurti/Lohamurti planet in bad house (e.g., Saturn in 8H as Lohamurti):
- Saturn already shows problems by placement; being Lohamurti makes him actively hostile
- He is asked to give problems AND he's in a bad mood → results are worse
- Propitiation can reduce the damage
Swarnamurti planet in bad house (e.g., Saturn in 8H as Swarnamurti):
- Planet is in a position that could cause problems, but being Swarnamurti means he's in a good mood
- The negative is softened — planet is willing to go easy on you
Application in Panchanga Readings
PVNR uses this system when giving general annual readings (panchanga shravanam) to identify:
- Which transiting planets have particularly good potential (good house + Swarnamurti) → encourage people to take advantage
- Which have potential that is being wasted (good house + Lohamurti) → recommend propitiation to unlock
- Which are actively troublesome (bad house + Loha/Tamra) → recommend remedies to minimize damage
