Sahamas — Special Points in the Annual Chart
Sahamas are mathematical points (like sensitive degrees) for specific life events: Jalapatana (ocean crossing), Paradesha (foreign land), Vivaha (marriage), Putra (children). In a TP chart, when the Sahama's lord connects to the Hora Lord and relevant houses, the event is strongly confirmed.

Sahamas (Special Points / Lots)
What Are Sahamas?
Mathematical points in the zodiac that signify specific areas of life. Like a planet at a specific degree, a Sahama has a specific degree position. They are defined for every chart (natal or annual).
Key Sahamas:
- Jalapatana Sahama = crossing oceans, going abroad over water
- Paradesha Sahama = going to a foreign land
- Vivaha Sahama = marriage
- Putra Sahama = children
- Punya Sahama = merit/fortune
- Raja Sahama = royal/political success
How to Use Sahamas
- Find where the Sahama falls in the zodiac
- Check if it falls in an important house (kendra, trikona, or Badhakasthana)
- Check if the lord of that sign is connected to the karaka or relevant houses (7th/9th/12th for foreign)
- If both Sahamas for an event + their lords + Hora Lord are all connected = very strong confirmation
Application (1984 Tithi Pravesha Chart for going to USA, 1985):
- Hora Lord = Mercury = 9th and 12th lord in 7th house → connects ALL three houses (7th, 9th, 12th) for foreign travel
- Jalapatana Sahama in Leo = Badhakasthana for Libra lagna (11th for movable) → lord Sun is with Rahu (karaka for foreign) in 8th house
- Paradesha Sahama in Capricorn → lord Saturn is in Libra with 7th lord Mars AND with 9th and 12th lord Mercury (in Samasaptaka)
- Everything connects → very strong year for going abroad
Use Tithi Pravesha annual charts for near-future predictions. PVNR: "Most of the correct predictions I made to people were based on this technique."
Charakarkas in Annual Charts
Charakarkas change every year. If using them for a particular year's analysis, use the charakarkas from that specific year's chart, not the natal chart.
