Rashi Tulya Navamsa & Navamsa Tulya Rashi — Cross-Chart Transposition Framework & Master Chart Concept
Rashi and Navamsa are NOT two different zodiacs — they share the same physical zodiac; Rashi = physical/material existence; Navamsa = dharmic self/marital/spiritual environment; all varga planets occupy actual physical signs at an abstract level. Rashi Tulya Navamsa: take Rashi Lagna sign and find planets in/around it IN the Navamsha chart = "how does the dharmic environment impact the physical self?" Example (May 26, 1988, Secunderabad, Gemini Rashi Lagna): Saturn+Mars in Gemini in Navamsa = "dharmic activities cause physical suffering; person fasts excessively, sits in sadhana 20 hours, physically abuses body through spiritual practice." Navamsa Tulya Rashi: take Navamsa Lagna sign and analyze it IN the Rashi chart = "what physical activities result from the person's dharmic sense?" Example continued: Navamsa Lagna Scorpio in Rashi → 8th house = Mercury+Venus (Raj Yoga + serious tapasya); 10th house = Ketu (physical karma = detachment, actions pointing to moksha). Extension: ANY planet (not just Lagna) can be transposed between charts — Navamsa Mars in Sagittarius → Saturn in Rashi Sagittarius = "dharmic energy causes physical hard labor/suffering"; Rashi Mars in Aquarius in Navamsa → 10th from Mars has Jupiter/Venus/Ketu in Scorpio = physical energy used for Vedic teaching. Master chart model: 16 vargas × 9 planets + lagnas = 160 reference points, all sharing one physical zodiac. "Rashi and Navamsa are not two charts — they are two aspects of the same chart."
"Rashi and Navamsa are not two separate charts. They are two aspects of the same chart. Things happen because of the interaction between them. You can take any planet from any divisional chart and transpose it into any other — this is the tip of the iceberg."

Rashi Tulya Navamsa / Navamsa Tulya Rashi — Deeper Teaching
Core Concept
Rashi and Navamsa are not two different zodiacs — they share the same physical zodiac:
- Rashi = physical, material existence
- Navamsa = dharmic self, marital/spiritual environment
- All divisional chart planets occupy actual physical signs; the zodiac is one
- "Mercury of Navamsa in Libra = same physical Libra, just an abstract representation of Mercury"
The Master Chart Model
One could construct a master chart with 144+ positions:
- 16 vargas × 9 planets = 144 positions (abstract levels of each planet)
- Plus 16 lagnas = 160 reference points
- Any two can be compared to understand interactions between aspects of the person's life
Rashi Tulya Navamsa (Transposing Rashi lagna into Navamsa)
Meaning: How does the dharmic environment impact the physical self?
Method: Take Rashi Lagna sign, find planets in/around it IN THE NAVAMSHA CHART, analyze influences on it
Example (DOB: May 26, 1988, 7:27:54 AM, Secunderabad):
- Rashi Lagna = Gemini; take Gemini as reference in Navamsa
- Saturn in Gemini in Navamsa → lot of suffering and pain from dharmic activities
- Mars aspecting → lot of fire, hard physical labor
- Reading: dharmic activities cause physical suffering; may fast excessively, sit in sadhana for 20 hours, physically abuse body through spiritual practice
Navamsa Tulya Rashi (Transposing Navamsa lagna into Rashi)
Meaning: What physical activities result from the person's dharmic sense?
Method: Take Navamsa Lagna sign, analyze it IN THE RASHI CHART
Example continued:
- Navamsa Lagna = Scorpio; take Scorpio as reference in Rashi
- 8th from Scorpio in Rashi: Mercury + Venus → Raj Yoga in 8th → serious tapasya, reaching for the unknown
- 10th from Scorpio: Ketu → physical karma = detachment, giving up things, actions pointing toward moksha
- Reading: dharmic sense drives the person toward spiritual renunciation physically
Transposing Individual Planets (Beyond Lagna)
This technique is not limited to Lagna — any planet can be transposed:
| Planet in Chart | What It Represents |
|---|---|
| Rashi Mars | Physical energy and initiative |
| Navamsa Mars | Dharmic initiative, drive toward dharmic activities |
| Rashi Saturn | Physical endurance and hard work |
| Navamsa Saturn | Dharmic endurance, persistence in spiritual matters |
| Rashi Mercury | Physical learning ability |
| Navamsa Mercury | Dharmic/spiritual learning ability |
Example: Navamsa Mars in Sagittarius → take Sagittarius in Rashi → Saturn there → dharmic energy causing physical hard labor and suffering
Example: Rashi Mars (in Aquarius) in Navamsa → 10th from Mars has Jupiter/Venus/Ketu in Scorpio → physical energy used for teaching, Vedic learning, spiritual growth
Rule: Whatever physical energy the person has will be used in the area shown by the 10th from Rashi Mars's position IN THE Navamsa chart.
Standard Usage vs PVNR's Extension
- Standard teaching: only Rashi Lagna ↔ Navamsa Lagna
- PVNR's extension: transpose any planet from any divisional chart to any other
- "This is the tip of the iceberg. You can take Moon, Mars, Arudha Lagna, any reference."
- Arudha Lagna of Rashi transposed into Navamsa: how does dharmic life affect the person's public image?
"Rashi and Navamsa are not two charts. They are two aspects of the same chart. Things happen because of the interaction between them."
Saturn in 3rd House — Classical Dictum
Rule: Saturn in 3rd house → tendency toward laziness (classical Jyotish dictum)
- 3rd house = house of energy and initiative
- Saturn depletes/disperses energy
- Mars in 3rd would give energy; Saturn in 3rd dissipates it
- "3rd from 6th = 8th from 6th? No — 3rd house, Saturn in 3rd from lagna"
- However: enemies suffer bad karma (Saturn aspects 10th from 6th = their 10th house of karma)
- Benefit: things may come more easily; not having to work hard
- Saturn strong → workaholic; Saturn weak → lazy (same planet, different strength = opposite results)
Moon in Arudha Lagna
Image given by Moon in AL:
- Compassionate, kind, understanding
- No enemies; tries to see all angles
- Beautiful, easygoing
- Pleasure-loving, literary, scholarly discussions, singing
If Moon is afflicted (Papakartari, aspected by Saturn/Rahu/Mars):
- Wavering, fickle-minded image (chapala chitta)
- Cannot make up mind; appears weak-willed
- Similar to Mercury in AL in this afflicted state
"Plain laziness is usually Saturn's influence, not Moon's. Moon gives pleasure-loving image, not lazy image."
