Chart Analysis — Female Bank Assistant Manager (Career Trouble)

The Question

A student brought this chart to verify the remedies he had already given: pearl, and the mantras of Kālī and Gaṇeśa.

• Lagna in the 4th degree of Scorpio (3°03'). Moon in the 11th degree of Leo.
• She is an assistant manager in a bank.
• Other people's work is given to her while they sit idle. Her boss gives her a hard time. She works and others get the recognition.
• She wants relief from the boss and recognition for her effort.

D-10 Lagna on a Border

• At 3°03' Scorpio the Daśāṁśa lagna is Leo. Fifteen seconds earlier it would be Cancer.
• The student had rectified from her marriage. PVNR's objection: marriage confirms only the Navāṁśa — that the lagna is below 3°20'. It says nothing about the Daśāṁśa. The 10th lord in the 10th that the student also cited is a Rāśi fact, not a D-10 fact.
• The student's case for Leo: she holds a position of authority, and with Leo rising the D-10 lagna lord Sun is in the 10th house.
• PVNR adds: 10th lord Venus and 5th lord Jupiter are together in the 11th — a Rāja yoga. The 10th lord with Jupiter fits a career in banking and finance. Leo is accepted.
• Advice to the student: keep notes on every chart. Two years later you will not remember these details.

Is the Debilitated Moon the Problem?

• In the D-10 Moon is the 12th lord, debilitated in the 4th house (Scorpio).
• The 12th is a duṣṭhāna. Debility of a duṣṭhāna lord is not a real problem.
• Moon debilitated in the 4th can still show some lack of comfort.
• Do not jump to conclusions. She may have had a good career with a bump in the road. Look at the daśā.

Chaturāśīti-sama Daśā

• The 10th lord Sun is in the 10th house of the Rāśi chart (Leo). So Chaturāśīti-sama daśā applies.
• She is in the middle of Venus daśā, running since 2002.
• Venus daśā should be good for career in general: in the D-10 he is the 10th lord in the 11th, in Rāja yoga with Jupiter.

Venus–Sun antardaśā (the last year and more):

• Sun is in the 12th from the daśā lord Venus in the D-10 — Sun's Maraṇa Kāraka Sthāna. An antardaśā lord in Maraṇa Kāraka Sthāna from the daśā lord is not good, and it hits the mind.
• General rule: Sun is the kāraka of the boss. If Sun is afflicted by Saturn, Rāhu or Ketu in the Daśāṁśa, expect trouble from the authorities.
• Here Sun is the D-10 lagna lord, a functional benefic. Saturn, the 6th lord, a functional malefic, sits with him in the 10th house.
• Result: politics at work, a boss who loads her with work and does not recognise her.

Venus–Saturn antardaśā (before it):

• The same Saturn–Sun combination in the 10th house gives its result in Saturn's antardaśā as well as Sun's. Neither was good.

PVNR's timeline:

• 2002 to 2004: a very good time.
• From 2004: problems start slowly.
• 2006–2007, the last year and nine months: the problems peak.

Venus–Moon Antardaśā — Is There Relief?

Moon's antardaśā is running at the time of the class.

• From the daśā lord Venus (Gemini in the D-10), Moon is the 2nd lord in the 6th. The 2nd is resources, the 6th is effort — one artha trikoṇa lord in another artha trikoṇa. Not bad.
• This is a kṛṣṇa pakṣa chart, so Moon is a natural malefic. A natural malefic in the 6th is not bad. He is debilitated, which PVNR does not mind here.
• Moon and Ketu exchange signs. From the daśā lord it is an exchange of two artha trikoṇa lords (2nd and 6th). From lagna it is an exchange of two mokṣa trikoṇa lords (4th and 12th).
• Moon owns A9 and A10, which fall in the 12th house from the D-10 lagna, in a trine from Āruḍha Lagna. Their lord Moon is in the Āruḍha Lagna. That is good for career.
• A9 and A10 in the 12th: relocation, or a change of assignment or of boss.
• In the Rāśi Moon is in the 12th from Venus, and he is the bādhaka lord. That too points to a change of place.
• 3rd and 8th houses show breaks in career, not transfers. The 12th house and the bādhaka show change and disturbance.

"There should be some relief already in the current period."

Recognition — Which Antardaśā?

• Moon: nothing to do with the 5th house or A5, from Venus or from lagna. No specific recognition.
• Mars: yogakāraka for Leo lagna, but in the 8th from the daśā lord in the D-10. He has his own problems.
• Mercury: taking Venus as lagna, Mercury is the lagna lord in the 2nd, a good house for him. The antardaśā Pāka falls in lagna, which matters for recognition and can also give a new beginning. A5 is in a sign owned by Mercury (Virgo) and Mercury has argalā on it. Venus–Mercury has some possibility.
• Jupiter: the 5th lord in Rāja yoga with the 10th lord. He aspects A5 by rāśi dṛṣṭi. In the Rāśi he is the 5th lord in the 5th. Venus–Jupiter, 2013–2014, is the peak.

"Until then, it is not that she will not be recognized, but that will be the peak. Just keep working hard."

Moon and Mars periods will be hard work.

Transits — Why It Hurts Now

The student's reason for Gaṇeśa: Ketu is transiting her 10th house. PVNR agrees and extends it.

• Leo holds natal Sun and Moon. It is the 10th house of the Rāśi chart, the Moon sign, the lagna of the D-10, and the 10th from Moon in the D-10.
• So Leo is the 1st or 10th from lagna or Moon in both Rāśi and Daśāṁśa. It is a vital sign.
• Ketu has been transiting Leo for the last year and Saturn for the last half year. They are draining it.

Remedies

Gaṇeśa and Kālī — confirmed.

• Gaṇeśa: Ketu's transit over the vital sign. Gaṇeśa is also her Iṣṭa Devatā.
• Kālī: taken for Saturn. In the Navāṁśa Saturn is the Amātyakāraka. The 6th from him (Capricorn) is empty, is owned by Saturn, and Saturn aspects it by rāśi dṛṣṭi. So Saturn decides the Pālana Devatā, and Kālī is right for livelihood and career.

The native's fear about Kālī. She had heard of someone who lost his job right after starting a Kālī mantra, and asked whether she would lose hers.

• How a mantra works depends on the person. When someone ready for spiritual progress does the Kālī mantra with the mind on that progress, she may take away job, wife and children and force him onto the path.
• She is also the mother who looks after her children. Worshipped as Mother with the mind on livelihood, she gives livelihood. This holds for most deities.

"Even though right now she is only worried about her career, her recognition — for all you know, a little bit of sādhanā may actually trigger something else also."

Pearl, not ruby.

• The student's reason for pearl: Moon is the 9th lord in the 10th house of the Rāśi with the 10th lord, giving Rāja yoga. He is the bādhaka lord too, but strengthening the 9th lord is fine even when he is bādhaka.
• PVNR adds: Moon is the Navāṁśa lagna lord in the Navāṁśa lagna, which protects the person. In the D-10 he is the kāraka of the 4th in the 4th, giving sukha, though debilitated. He owns the 12th there, a neutral house. His own antardaśā is running.
• Ruby was the alternative: Sun is the 10th lord, the D-10 lagna lord and lord of the janma rāśi. But the 10th lord is not a functional benefic, and the time for ruby is probably gone.
• The deciding point is the daśā lord. A king's commander visits your house and you bring the chair the commander likes. If the king does not like that chair, he will not sit; he will leave.
• Venus and Moon gel better than Venus and Sun. In Venus daśā, and in this antardaśā, pearl is the better stone.
• Start wearing it at sunrise on a Monday.

Caturdaśī doṣa. She is born on Kṛṣṇa Caturdaśī. This is one of the birth doṣas covered early in the course. She needs the śānti if it has not been done.
