Dasha Analysis — Checking Applicability

Before Reading Vimshottari — Check Other Dashas First

Always verify: Is any special dasha applicable?

Shakthi Sama DashaSun in Lagna

Chaturasiti Sama Dasha (84-year equal)10th lord in 10th house
Vimshottari (standard)Applicable to ALL charts (universal fallback)

If none of the special conditions apply → use normal Vimshottari.

Kiran's Chart — Satabdika Dasha Applicable

  • Kiran's Lagna is in Virgo in both Rasi and Navamsha → Vargottama (same sign in D1 and D9)
  • This means Satabdika dasha (Shashtihaini dasha) is applicable for his chart

Dasha Analysis — Bill Gates D10 (Sun Dasha)

Sun's Positions

  • D10: Sun is 7th lord in 12th house (Marana Karaka Sthana for Sun is 12th house)
  • From AL: Sun is in 10th house from AL = world perceives him as exercising power, being king-like

What to Expect in Sun Dasha

Career interpretation (D10):

  • Sun as 7th lord in 12th = 7th house shows desires, business, partnerships; 12th = giving up
  • Combined: His business will break into multiple units; he will have to give up some control or make compromises in business
  • This is exactly what happened historically — antitrust cases, being forced to step back from CEO role

Sun and Dharma (from Rasi):

  • Sun is in 9th house natally → person becomes very dharmic during Sun dasha
  • Sun is natural karaka for dharma (as Kshatriya/doer); Jupiter is the other karaka (as Brahmin/thinker)
  • Sun is in a favorable position from A9 (Arudha of 9th house = tangible fortune/dharma manifestation)
  • Combined: Great dharmic activities in Sun dasha — major charity work, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, etc.

Sun in A3:

  • Sun is in A3 (Vikrama Pada = Arudha of 3rd house of initiative)
  • A3 rule: When a planet in A3 runs its dasha, the person starts new companies, new ventures, new products
  • So new things get started in Sun dasha, but at the same time he has to give up old control

Sun and gains:

  • Sun has Argala on the 11th house → will continue to give gains regardless
  • So even during this somewhat difficult dasha for business structure, he still profits

Three Special Dusthana Yogas — Harsha, Sarala, Vimala

When a dusthana lord occupies its own dusthana, a special named yoga forms:

YogaConditionMeaning
Harsha Yoga6th lord in 6th houseCheerful, happy-go-lucky, overcomes obstacles easily or has no obstacles; optimistic, positive, relaxed approach to enemies
Sarala Yoga8th lord in 8th houseStraightforward, honest, matter-of-fact; says what they believe directly without mincing words; forceful in a truthful way
Vimala Yoga12th lord in 12th housePure-hearted, unblemished, great givers; great teachers and gurus; selfless

How the names give clues:

  • Harsha = cheerful/happy
  • Sarala = straightforward (mukkum surigabautam in Telugu — "just go straight ahead")
  • Vimala = pure, clean, unblemished

Modification by planet:

  • These yogas manifest differently based on which planet forms the yoga
  • Harsha from Jupiter/Venus = serene, peaceful cheerfulness
  • Harsha from Mars = still cheerful but with some fire/energy in that cheerfulness

Sarala example (Kiran's D10):

  • Sun is 8th lord in 8th house → Sarala yoga
  • Also Sun is in Yama amsha in D10 → Yama = dutiful, dharmic, unemotional adherence to dharma
  • Combined: During Sun dasha, he will be very assertive and honest in an authoritative way (Leo is the sign of authority)
  • Sun also in A10 with GL (Ghatika Lagna) → potential career change or promotion (if chart is accurately rectified)
