D-12 ND — Relationship with Parents

What D-12 ND Shows (Default Version)

The default D-12 Narayana Dasha (starting from the 12th lord of the Rasi chart's position in D-12) shows:

• How the native's relationship with parents unfolds over time
• When there is harmony, separation, friction, reunion

"It is the progression of the 12th lord — the intelligence applied to give-and-take in life. Compromise in relationships. It shows how the relationship with parents is going."

How to Set It Up (Software)

1. Select D-12 in Narayana Dasha options
2. Take the 12th lord in the Rasi chart → find where he is in D-12
3. That sign + its 7th form the axis; take the stronger sign as the starting lagna
4. Enter that sign in "Start Dasha from" option

Example: Capricorn Dasha in D-12 (This Chart)

• Capricorn = 4th house in D-12 (from Libra lagna)
• 4th house = comfort, sukha, happiness — in the context of parental relationship, it's the emotional comfort and connection with parents
• 6th lord Jupiter (debilitated) is in Capricorn (4H) → affliction of the 4th house of sukha
• When 6th lord or 8th lord is in 4H from lagna, expect lack of comfort (friction)
• Capricorn = Prishtodaya → last 1/3 gives Capricorn results; Lord Saturn in Sirshodaya (Libra) → first 1/3
• Middle 1/3 = associations (Mars, Rahu, Jupiter aspect Capricorn)
• When was friction likely: Middle 1/3 (1991 Jan – 1992 May) = Jupiter's portion = lack of sukha/comfort
• What happened: Around end of her engineering degree, she wanted to do masters/go to Hyderabad; parents wanted her close; friction especially with mother ✓

Taurus Dasha in D-12 (Current at Time of Class)

• Taurus = 8th house in D-12 (8H from Libra lagna)
• Both sign (Prishtodaya) and lord Venus (also Prishtodaya) → associations get the 1st slot
• Associations: Venus, Saturn, Mercury, Jupiter (ordered by longitude: Venus first, then Saturn, Mercury, Jupiter)
• 1st slot results: Venus (lagna lord) aspect → very good; reunion, happiness; parents visiting
  • What happened: Parents came to USA in October and stayed through class date; going back today (class day)
• 8th house sign = separation also possible; Jupiter in last portion of associations = separation (Jupiter = 3rd/6th lord; 6th lord = separation/departure) ✓

How to Set It Up

1. 4th house = mother's house in the native's chart
2. In D-12: take the 4th house in D-12 from the native's D-12 lagna
3. Find the stronger of that 4th house sign and its 7th (= 10th from native's D-12 lagna)
4. Enter that as "Start Dasha from" = this is now mother's Narayana Dasha derived from D-12

• Virgo Dasha for mother from D-12 = 9th house → foreign travel; mother came to USA 4 times during this period ✓
• Leo Dasha for mother = 8th house with Mars and Rahu → should be careful of health; accident potential
• Virgo Dasha last 1/3 = Sun's aspect (8th lord) → bone injuries; mother broke her ankle during this period ✓
  • Sun = significator for bones (Rakta/blood = Moon; Fat = Jupiter; Bones = Sun)
  • Sun in 2002-2003 = gave bone-related health problem ✓

D-12 ND — Fortune of Father (Separate ND)

How to Set It Up

1. 9th house = father's house
2. In D-12: take 9th house in D-12 from native's D-12 lagna
3. Find the stronger of that 9th house sign and its 7th (= 3rd from native's lagna)
4. Enter that as "Start Dasha from" = father's Narayana Dasha derived from D-12

Reading Father's Chart

For this chart: starting from Gemini (9H stronger than Sagittarius). Taking Gemini as lagna for father:

Capricorn Dasha for father (started Sep 2003):

• Capricorn = 8th house from Gemini (father's lagna)
• 10th lord (Jupiter, debilitated) is in Capricorn (8H)
• 8th house = changes in lifestyle; retirement is a clear indicator (10th lord in 8H = change in career = retirement)

Applying 3-Parts:

• Capricorn = Prishtodaya → LAST slot
• Lord Saturn = in Libra (Sirshodaya) → FIRST slot
• Saturn gave the result in the first slot
• Saturn = 8th lord (Capricorn lagna's 8th lord = whatever...); from Gemini lagna, Saturn is 8th and 9th lord
• 8th lord exalted in 5th house → gives retirement WITH a promotion (exalted = happy, proud; 5th house = recognition)
• What happened: Father retired in 2004 with a promotion just before retirement (promotion → better retirement benefits) ✓

Is Capricorn Dasha good for business? → NOT advised

• Father's AL = Aquarius (A9 from Gemini lagna)
• Capricorn is 12th from AL → material losses
• Capricorn is 8th from Gemini lagna → anxiety, instability
• Advice: Don't start any business; take it easy

Leo Dasha for father:

• Leo = 3rd house from Gemini
• 3rd house = initiative, consulting, short-term contracts
• Contains 6th lord (obstacles) and 11th lord (gains)
• = Can start consultancy, do some consulting after retirement → good for a post-retirement career beginning
• Advice: After 2007, Leo dasha → can start some independent consulting ✓
