Bhoga Formula, Yogada / Maha Yogada & Retrograde Planets
Bhoga Formula: from Dasha lord, count signs to Antardasha lord, count same again from AD lord — the landing sign is what is experienced. Paka = effort applied; Bhoga = result consumed. Yogada = planet associating with both Lagna AND Ghatika Lagna. Maha Yogada = planet associating with Lagna, GL AND Hora Lagna. Retrograde + exaltation rule: a planet retrograde in the sign it was about to enter (the previous sign) means it is experiencing that sign's results from past life.

Bhoga Formula — What Is Experienced in a Dasha/Antardasha
The Formula
- From Dasha lord, count the number of signs to Antardasha lord
- Count the same number of signs from Antardasha lord
- The sign you land on = Bhoga (what is actually experienced/consumed)
- See which house the Bhoga sign is from Lagna → that house's results are experienced
Paka vs. Bhoga
- Paka = sign where the Antardasha lord itself sits = where effort is applied (cooking)
- Bhoga = sign found by above formula = what is actually experienced (eating/consuming the result)
Examples
- Rahu dasha, Jupiter antardasha: Jupiter is 12th from Rahu; 12th from Jupiter = the Bhoga sign; see its house from lagna
- Rahu dasha, Mercury antardasha: Mercury is 3rd from Rahu; 3rd from Mercury = Aries (4H from lagna) = comfort, satisfaction; if GL is there, adds power/authority flavor
- Rahu dasha, Saturn antardasha: Saturn is 7th from Rahu (?); count 7 from Saturn = Bhoga; if Bhoga falls in 10H = career achievement during that antardasha; if 8H = suspicious; if 12H = losses
- Rahu dasha, Ketu antardasha: Ketu is 7th from Rahu; 7th from Ketu = 12H from lagna = losses
When Bhoga Has Ghatika Lagna
- If the Bhoga sign contains Ghatika Lagna → person experiences power and authority during that antardasha
- Mercury antardasha (Rahu dasha): Bhoga in 4H, which has GL → Mercury antardasha = experiencing and exercising power; not just having it
Yogada and Maha Yogada
Yogada (Power)
- Planet associating with BOTH lagna AND Ghatika Lagna (by owning, occupying, or Rasi drishti)
- Such a planet delivers power and authority during its dasha/antardasha
- Connects potential power (GL) to actual existence (lagna)
Maha Yogada (Power + Money)
- Planet associating with lagna, Ghatika Lagna, AND Hora Lagna
- Delivers both power AND financial abundance
Yogada for Money
- A planet connecting lagna AND Hora Lagna = Yogada for money matters
How Ghatika Lagna Moves
- GL moves 5 times faster than lagna
- Every ~2 minutes in the dasamsa, GL shifts to a new sign
- Rectification technique: use times of power events to determine correct GL
Retrograde and Exaltation Rule

- When debilitated retrograde = exalted: This is the principle behind Neecha Bhanga (one variant)
