Ketu Argala — PVNR vs Sanjay Ji
Sanjay Ji's teaching: When finding argala on a sign that contains Ketu, count in reverse.
PVNR's teaching (based on Parashara):
— PVNR"It does not matter whether Ketu is in the house on which you are finding argala. When you are finding argala FROM Rahu or Ketu (i.e., Rahu/Ketu's own argala on other signs), you count in reverse — because Rahu and Ketu always look backward. Other planets in the same house as Rahu/Ketu still use normal (forward) counting."
Why: Rahu and Ketu "think in reverse." From Ketu's own perspective, what is the 2nd house from Ketu is what Ketu "gives to." Other planets don't inherit this reverse perspective — they count normally.

Virudhargala with Malefics in 3rd House
Standard rule: Virudhargala cancels argala — it does not create a new influence, only nullifies the intervention.
Special rule with malefics in 3rd:
- When there are 2+ malefics in the 3rd house, they not only cancel 11th house argala — they create their own argala (new influence on lagna)
- 11th house: happiness from fulfillment of desires
- 3 malefics in 3rd: First they cancel the 11th's happiness influence. Then because they are malefics (not just benefics), they create NEW argala = strong drive and determination to start a new effort
- This is different from a benefic in 3rd: benefic only cancels, does not create new argala

Virudhargala strength: If 3rd house planets are equally strong (or stronger), the 11th house argala is fully cancelled. If 3rd is weaker, partial cancellation.

Graha Arudha (Jyotir Graha Rudra) — Introduction
What it is: Parashara taught how to find the arudha pada of planets (not just houses). Called Graha Arudha or Jyotir Graha Rudra.
How to find:
- A planet owns two signs; find the stronger sign using standard rules (exaltation, planets there, odd/even oddity rule)
- Count from planet to that stronger sign (distance = N)
- Count same distance from that sign → landing sign = Graha Arudha of that planet
- Tiebreaker rule: The sign whose oddity (odd/even) is different from the sign the lord occupies is stronger (since each planet owns one odd and one even sign, the lord's sign will always be one oddity, making the other sign stronger by this rule — guaranteed tiebreaker)
What Sanjay Ji does with it (Jyotir Graha Rudra):
- Finds BOTH graha arudhas of each planet (one per owned sign)
- Uses these to assess what type of people (by their dominant sign) are beneficial or harmful for the native
- Example: If Ve7 (Venus graha arudha from Libra, 7th sign) falls in 6th house → Libra-lagna people who become partners create litigation/trouble
- If Ve2 (Venus graha arudha from Taurus, 2nd sign) falls in 11th house → Taurus-lagna people bring gains
