Context: Analyzing Mars (28° Gemini) aspect on Saturn (7° Sagittarius) for Bhilai girl chart.
The Formula (from Parashara)
- At 180° (7th house): aspect = 100% for all planets
- Going to 210°: between 100% → 75% (falls gradually) for ordinary planets
- At 240° (8th house cusp): aspect = 25% for ordinary planets
- Jupiter gets +50 points in his special aspects (5th/9th): 240° = 75%, not 25%
- Mars gets +25 points in his special aspects (4th/8th): 210° = 100%, not 75%
Calculation example: Mars at 28° Gemini → Saturn at 7° Sagittarius:
- Distance = 180° - 21° = 159°? No: Gemini 28° to Sagittarius 7° = 180° - 21° = ~159°
- Actually: from Mars's position, Saturn is at ~159° away (not 180°)
- PVNR's calculation: 9 degrees short of 180° → 9/30 × 25% = 7.5% deduction → Mars aspect on Saturn ≈ 30%
Critical insight: Aspects are asymmetric:
