Worked Example — Rectification via Divisional Windows, Marriage & Childbirth
A comprehensive worked example: a young woman asking if an HR role is suitable. Step 1: conditional dasha check (which dasha applies). Step 2: birth time rectification via divisional windows — for each divisional chart, calculate how much time changes the lagna; cross-check against known events (marriage date, childbirth date) to narrow the window. D9 + annual TP for marriage analysis. D7 + natal indicators for childbirth. Rectified birth time: from 4:28 PM → 4:32 PM IST (4-minute correction) confirmed through multiple divisional chart events.
"Rectification through divisional windows: calculate the time window for each divisional chart, then cross-check against known events. Each confirmed event narrows the window."

Example Chart
Chart Under Analysis
Question asked: A young woman has a job offer for an HR role. Is this the right career for her?
Chart data:
- Original time given: September 21, 1981, 4:28 PM IST
- Rectified time: 4:32 PM IST (+4 minutes, determined through divisional chart events)
- Place: Kolar, Karnataka, India — 78°8'E, 13°8'N
- D1 Lagna: Aquarius
- D9 Lagna: Scorpio (at rectified time)
Known events for rectification:
- B.E. in Telecommunications (~1999–2002)
- Married: November 4, 2001
- Child born: March 16, 2004
- Father: retired admin worker
First Step: Check Conditional Dashas
Before applying Vimshottari, always check if any conditional dasha is applicable:
| Conditional Dasha | Trigger Condition | This Chart |
|---|---|---|
| Dusaptakesama | LL in 7H or 7L in Lagna | No |
| Shatabhukhi | Lagna in Vargottama | No (Aquarius D1, Scorpio D9) |
| Shastihaini | Lagna contains Sun | No |
| Chaturashriti Sama | 10L in 10H | No |
Result: No conditional dasha applicable → use standard Vimshottari Dasha.
— PVNRThis is a critical starting step that PVNR demonstrates in every chart — systematically ruling out special dashas before defaulting to Vimshottari.
Birth Time Rectification — Using Divisional Lagna Windows
The method: When in doubt about birth time, calculate how much time would change the lagna in each divisional chart. This gives you a "window" in both directions.
Step 1: D9 Navamsa Window
- Moving back by 2'58" → Navamsa lagna changes
- Moving forward by 8'30" → Navamsa lagna changes
- So if we trust the Navamsa lagna (Scorpio), birth time is correct within this window
Step 2: Verify with Events (Marriage)
Annual TP for 2001 was cast and analyzed. The window changed:
- Moving back by 1'53" changes the annual TP lagna
By cross-referencing multiple divisional windows, you progressively narrow the uncertainty range.
Step 3: D7 (Saptamsa) Window for Childbirth
Initial D7 with 4:28 PM did NOT explain childbirth in 2004 well. When time was pushed forward by 4 minutes:
- D7 lagna changed from Virgo to Libra
- All explanations fell into place
Final rectified time: 4:32 PM IST
Confidence window: Not more than ~30 seconds backward, not more than ~3 minutes forward
— PVNRRule: "If you have to change the time by 5 minutes to explain known past events, don't hesitate — but change only after multiple events support it. 5 minutes is possible even in modern births due to definition disputes (crown of head, feet on ground, cord cut, first breath, first cry)."
Marriage Analysis — D9 (Navamsa)
Event: Married November 4, 2001; Vimshottari period: Jupiter-Sun
Understanding Planet Placement by House Type (Critical Framework)
— PVNR"When a planet is associated with trines → it brings blessings that come very easily as a result of good past-life karma. When in quadrants → things come with some effort. When in dusthanas → lot of effort, karmic obstacles to overcome."
- Trines (1, 5, 9) = past-life blessings, effortless grace
- Kendras (1, 4, 7, 10) = things come with effort
- Dusthanas (6, 8, 12) = heavy karmic obstacles, struggle required
Why Jupiter Could Give Marriage
- Jupiter = 5L in D1, placed in 9H of D9 (exalted)
- Associated with two trines (5H lordship + 9H placement) → enormous blessings for dharmic/marital life
- Jupiter aspects the D9 Lagna → associated with a new beginning in the marital environment
- In D1 Rasi: Jupiter conjunct Sun (7L of D1) → has direct link to the marriage house lord
Why Sun Could Give Marriage (as antardasha lord)
- Sun = 7L of D1 → he IS the primary karyesha for physical marriage
- In D9: Sun is conjunct Venus (7L of D9) and Ketu (LL of D9)
- So Sun is associated with both the 7th lord and the lagna lord of D9
- He has the right agenda (7L of D1) AND good associations (in D9) → can give marriage
— PVNR"Sun has the right agenda AND the right associations in the environment chart. He got her married."
12th House in D9
- In D9 specifically, the 12th house is the house of carnal pleasures, compromise, giving yourself up
- "12th house is the house of losing yourself; pleasures in bed are one aspect of that"
- Ketu (conjunct Sun+Venus in D9) rules the lagna and shows some 12th-house results too
Annual TP (2001) — Marriage Year Analysis
Annual TP started: October 11, 2001
Marriage: November 4, 2001 (3 weeks into the new year)
Ruler of the Year
- Hora Lord at start of year = Mars
- Mars is the Yogakaraka (5L + 10L) from Cancer lagna of the annual chart
- Mars in 6th house of annual chart → upachaya = unconditionally good placement for Mars
- The 3 houses that are unconditionally good for Mars: 3rd, 6th, and 11th (upachayas)
- When a favorable planet (Yogakaraka) is in a good house → excellent year
- Lagna lord Moon in own house → Moon also very well placed → "this is a favorable year for auspicious events"
Marriage Indicators in Annual Chart
D1 of Annual TP:
- Saturn = 7L + UL lord in Taurus (where Vivaha Sahama — the marriage significant point — is)
- "For marriage to manifest physically, Saturn is the key planet"
D9 of Annual TP:
- Mars (ruler of year) = 7L of D9, in own sign, and in Upada Lagna (UL)
- UL = house of marriage in D9; Mars being 7L and in UL = full blessing for marriage from the ruler of the year
- Saturn + Moon (LL) conjunct in D9 quadrant → they exchange results → Moon dasha → Moon gives Saturn's results = gives marriage
— PVNR"Moon and Saturn exchange. Moon dasha runs → Moon gives Saturn results → she gets married. This is why Moon-Mercury dasha (not Saturn dasha) gave the marriage."
Vivaha Sahama
- Always check this "marriage significant point" in the annual TP chart for marriage years
- It was in Taurus in the 2001 annual chart; Saturn (7L+UL lord) was also in Taurus → strong confirmation
Karyeshas for Marriage
- 7L = primary karyesha for physical marriage (in D1)
- 9L = secondary karyesha; marriage is an act of dharma (9th house = dharma)
