BPHS Ch.33 v46-52: Malefic in 6th=Hard Worker, Benefic=Lazy; 7th from Karkamsa Spouse Vasanas (Moon+Jupiter=Noble, Venus=Artistic, Sun=Confined, Saturn=Older/Sick, Rahu=Unconventional); Benefic in 8th=Long Life Aspiration; 9th: Benefic=Guru-Devoted+Swadharma, Saturn+Rahu=Guru-Drohi; Swadharma = No Universal Dharma
6th from Karkamsa: malefic = Karshaka (hard worker, driven fighter, farmer); benefic = Alasa (lazy, no desperate need to fight; things flow smoothly). "Same logic applies to 3rd from Karkamsa: malefic = initiative-driven; benefic = lacks self-initiative." 7th from Karkamsa = SOUL'S VASANAS about spouse (aspirations, not guarantees): Moon+Jupiter = beautiful/noble/famous spouse; Venus = many desires/artistic talents; Mercury = versatile/multi-talented (Kalavati); Sun = confined/domestic wife, authority dynamic ("native tends to boss the wife; she exists within his authority sphere"); Saturn = older/mature spouse or sickly/disease-prone; Rahu = unconventional match, widow, foreigner, outside tradition. "These are soul-level desires from past lives that shape attraction and perception — what actually manifests depends on environment, other planetary factors, dasha." 8th from Karkamsa: benefic (or 8th lord there) = long life aspiration; malefic = short life aspiration. "Not meaning you actually live long — it means living long is a deep desire of the soul. Vivekananda, Shankaracharya didn't care about living long. 8th from Karkamsa in D30." 9th from Karkamsa: benefic = Satyavadi (truthful) + Guru bhakta + Swadharma nirata; malefic = religious in childhood (family environment) then "Mithyavadi yavarddhake" = as grows older becomes irreligious/skeptical; Saturn+Rahu = Gurudrohi (cheats/deserts guru) + disregards shastras. Swadharma teaching: "In Vedic paradigm, no universal dharma — thou shalt do this/not do this = Kali Yuga invention. Only Swadharma based on vasanas and runas. What is dharma for Arjuna (killing) is not dharma for you. Nature expects different things through different people." Conscience = Jupiter (Viveka) + Amatyakaraka combined voice.
"In the Vedic paradigm, there is no universal dharma. That is an invention of Kali Yuga. There is only Swadharma — your own dharma based on your vasanas, your runas, your past conditioning. What is dharma for Arjuna is not dharma for you. Killing enemies in battle is Arjuna's dharma. It may be sin for another. Nature expects different things through different instruments. Conscience — that inner voice — is the combination of Amatyakaraka and Jupiter. It always tells you what YOUR dharma is."
— P.V.R. Narasimha Rao
BPHS Ch.33 — Verse 46: 6th from Karkamsa
Verse: If a Papagraha (malefic) is in the 6th house from Karkamsa → "Karshaka" (farmer, one who works hard / agriculture person).
If a benefic planet is in the 6th from Karkamsa → "Alasa" (lazy person).
PVNR explanation:
- 6th house = overcoming obstacles + fighting spirit
- Malefic in 6th from Karkamsa = lot of energy focused on that house → hard worker / fighter; alternatively could be frustrated fighter (too much desire, unable to accomplish)
- Benefic in 6th from Karkamsa = things flow smoothly, no desperate need to fight → lazy or "does not need to fight"
- Not just farmer vs. lazy: this is the soul's attitude to effort and fighting spirit
- Same result applies to the 3rd house from Karkamsa: malefic = initiative-driven; benefic = lack of self-initiative
BPHS Ch.33 — Verse 47-48: 7th from Karkamsa (Spouse)
Note: All results from 7th from Karkamsa show the soul's aspirations about the spouse — not guaranteed outcomes. These are vasanas and conditioning that shape attraction/preference.
| Planet in 7th from Karkamsa | Quality of Spouse |
|---|---|
| Moon + Jupiter | Beautiful, noble, famous; native may become famous through spouse |
| Venus | Many desires, luxuries, artistic abilities |
| Mercury | Versatile, multi-talented, able in many arts (Kalavati) |
| Sun | Confined / domestic wife; treated as servant; authority dynamic; wife moves only in family circles |
| Saturn | Wife older than native; patient/mature; workaholic; OR sickly/disease-prone |
| Rahu | Widow / foreigner / unconventional match; something unusual or out of tradition |
Why Sun shows confined wife: Sun = authority/king → native tends to boss the wife; wife exists within the native's authority sphere; she is not independent, does not move in public freely.
Why Rahu shows unconventional: Rahu = outside the box, breaking tradition. Tradition is defined by desh-kala-patra (place, time, social context). If Rahu is in 7th from Karkamsa, the soul is attracted to the unconventional — not necessarily guaranteed to happen, but the vasana is there.
BPHS Ch.33 — Verse 49: 8th from Karkamsa (Longevity)
If 8th from Karkamsa has lord or benefic: Long life.
If 8th has malefic planets (conjoining or aspecting): Short life.
If mixed (both): Mixed/medium life.
Philosophical nuance (PVNR):
— PVNR"8th house from Karkamsa being strong doesn't mean you live long. It means living a long life is a deep desire of the soul. Vivekananda, Shankaracharya — they didn't care about living long. Their dharma was more important. Somebody who died young in a previous life may carry the vasana: 'I wish I had lived longer.' That desire shows here."
Which chart to use: The relevant amsha for longevity → Trimshamsa (D30) (Parashara's primary chart for suffering, problems, and death).
BPHS Ch.33 — Verse 50-51: 9th from Karkamsa (Dharma/Guru)
If a benefic planet is in the 9th from Karkamsa (conjoining or aspecting):
- "Satyavadi" — truthful, honest
- "Guru bhakta" — devoted to guru (9th = guru)
- "Swadharma nirata" — engaged in one's own dharma
If a malefic is in the 9th from Karkamsa:
- "Swadharma nirata bala" — in childhood (youth), follows dharma (due to family environment)
- "Mithyavadi yavarddhake" — as he grows, becomes irreligious, skeptical; "this is all nonsense"
- PVNR: Even if born religious (parents' influence), malefic in 9th from Karkamsa = the vasana is toward irreligiousness; as surroundings' influence wanes, the intrinsic vasana takes over
If Saturn + Rahu are in the 9th from Karkamsa (conjoining or aspecting):
- "Gurudrohi" — cheats or deserts the guru
- "Saastriya shumukha" — loses interest in shastras/scriptures; disregards scripture
Caveat: Always consider if Saturn/Rahu are the 9th lords from Karkamsa sign — then they may also give positive results (devotion to traditional/unconventional guru, etc.). The negative is one side of the coin only.
Teaching: Swadharma (One's Own Dharma)
— PVNR"In Vedic paradigm, there is no universal dharma — thou shalt do this, thou shalt not do this. That is an invention of Kali Yuga. There is only Swadharma — your own dharma based on your vasanas, your runas. What is dharma for Arjuna (killing) is not dharma for you or me. Nature expects different things through different people."
- Conscience = the internal voice that knows right from wrong = controlled by Jupiter (Naisargika karaka for Viveka) + Amatyakaraka
- The voice is always there, but if suppressed → gets weaker; if listened to → gets louder
- Following one's conscience = following Swadharma
