D9 Marriage Analysis — Same Antardasha in Different Mahadashas Gives Different Results

Critical principle: never judge an antardasha without the Mahadasha lord. Venus AD in Jupiter MD (1976) = 7th lord in 7th house from Jupiter = marriage. Venus AD in Saturn MD = from lagna, Venus in 6th = compromise/quarrel. Same Venus, totally different outcome because the Mahadasha sets the context. Harsha Yoga (Venus as 6th lord in 6th) with MKS = any change happens cheerfully. L7 (Graha Arudha of 7th lord) = husband's reference lagna in annual charts — analyze his year from there. Mars+Ketu in 12H of annual D9 with both as 7th lords = detachment, possible separation action. Annual D7 2006 for first daughter: Mercury in 7th + UL in Aries with exalted Mars + Venus strong = daughter's marriage possible (Mercury or Venus dasha). Spiritual turning point: D20 annual 2006 has 9L+10L exchange = dharma-karma yoga for spiritual service.

"You should never judge an antardasha without looking at the Mahadasha lord. The same Venus antardasha in Jupiter gave marriage. Venus antardasha in Saturn shows compromise and quarrel. The Mahadasha lord is the other half of the judgment."

Rectification Process — This Chart

D9 Navamsa Lagna: Scorpio vs Sagittarius vs Libra?

Marriage in 1976 in Jupiter-Mercury Vimshottari dasha:

If Scorpio lagna:

  • Mercury = 8th lord + 11th lord; functional malefic; agenda not conducive to marriage
  • "8th lord and 11th lord — his agenda is anxiety and sudden changes, not marriage"

If Sagittarius lagna:

  • Mercury = 7th lord in 8th house; "7th lord's agenda is marriage; being in 8th shows some upheaval, but he will give marriage as his primary agenda"
  • Jupiter = lagna lord in 7th from Venus (karaka of marriage)

If Libra lagna:

  • Jupiter = 3rd and 6th lord in 2nd house; "not a strong candidate for marriage"

Satabdika dasha (Jupiter/Saturn) also confirms Sagittarius:

  • "Saturn is the UL lord in Rashi chart; Saturn is in 9th from UL in Navamsa, protecting UL; Saturn is with Venus so he will give Venus's result"
  • "From Mahadasha lord Jupiter, Venus is the 7th lord in the 7th house — can he give marriage? Yes."
  • Venus gives Harsha Yoga (6th lord in 6th house)
  • Conclusion: Sagittarius Navamsa lagna is correct

D7 Saptamsha Analysis — Children

Chart has 7th house = Gemini (odd sign → Ketu in 7th = count backwards)

  • Count 5 houses backwards from lagna: → Aquarius = lagna for first child
  • Lord of Aquarius: Saturn or Rahu?
    • "Rahu is preoccupied with fighting/eclipsing Sun (very excited about approaching Sun)"
    • "Saturn is in 6th house, more auspicious and focused"
    • Confirm by dasha: first child born in Jupiter-Saturn → Saturn is the stronger lord
    • Saturn in even sign → first child = girl ✓ (confirmed)

Second Child (1980):

  • Third house from Aquarius (counting backwards) = Sagittarius
  • Lord of Sagittarius = Jupiter, placed in Libra with Mars
  • "Based on rules it should be a boy, but it was actually a girl"
  • Book2 note: "Finding sex of child using D7 doesn't always give perfect results"

Why No Third Child:

  • "Because Ketu is in the house that shows the 2nd child, the native could not have a 3rd child"
  • "If you cross Rahu or Ketu while counting for the next child, the child may be blocked unless the end-house is strong"
  • "Here Ketu is exalted in the end house (Sagittarius), but Jupiter has 11th house argala on Sagittarius — so the 2nd child was saved due to Jupiter's blessings, though born premature and almost died"

D9 Navamsa — Marriage Analysis

Saturn Dasha in D9 (Satabdika):

  • Saturn gives Venus's result (Saturn with Venus in D9)
  • Venus = 6th lord in 6th house = Harsha Yoga but in Mrityu Karaka Sthana (MKS)
  • "6th house is the house of compromise in marriage (12th from 7th house)"
  • "Venus giving Harsha Yoga in the house of marriage-compromises = any change will happen happily, not painfully"
  • Saturn-Saturn is the current antardasha: "very rough period"
  • Sun antardasha: "4th lord in 11th house of gains from Saturn; after Saturn-Saturn ends (after Dec 2007), things will smooth out"

Key Principle — Same Antardasha in Different Mahadashas

"You should never judge an antardasha without looking at the Mahadasha lord. The same Venus antardasha in Jupiter Mahadasha (gave marriage in 1976) is NOT the same as Venus antardasha in Saturn Mahadasha (shows compromise/ending in marriage)."

  • "The Mahadasha lord is the other half of the judgment"
  • "When Venus was in Jupiter-Saturn antardasha: from Jupiter, Venus is 7th lord in 7th house → marriage perfectly"
  • "When Venus is in Saturn Mahadasha: from Lagna, Venus is in 6th house → compromise/quarrel in marriage"

Maraka for Marriage

  • Moon = 8th lord from Lagna; also the maraka for marriage (from 7th house perspective)
  • "8th lord can give anxiety related to marriage and even the end of marriage"
  • "Mars by nature is against marriage (karaka for separation); Saturn is karaka for discomfort"
  • Both Mars and Ketu in 12th house of D9 annual chart = "detachment, walking away from marriage; some sudden action possible"

Annual D9 (2006) — Marriage Assessment

Hora Lord = Sun (4th lord in 10th house)

  • Jupiter in lagna = auspicious but also 8th lord = "sudden changes; impulsive"
  • Mars + Ketu in 12th house: both = 7th lords → "some compromise and detachment from marriage; walking away possible"
  • "Mars and Ketu in Aries in 12th house = sudden walking away"
  • "Potential of some separation is possible in the coming year; Jupiter in lagna is the strongest candidate to give sudden change"

Critical period: November 2006–January 2007 (Jupiter's influence strongest)

Husband's Year (from L7 as husband's lagna):

  • "To see how the husband will fare this year, use L7 (graha arudha of 7th lord) in D9 as his lagna for the year"
  • In 2006 ATP: L7 falls in Gemini; treat Gemini as husband's lagna
  • Badhakesha Jupiter in 12th = "inexplicable problems solved in Jupiter dasa"
  • Mars + Ketu in 11th = "malefics in 11th is very good for Gemini lagna"; Mars in own house
  • "Overall we don't see bad things for the husband this year"

Annual D20 (2006) — Spiritual Activity

  • 9th and 10th lords exchanging = Raja Yoga
  • Multiple yogas in 10th house
  • "She may go out to do some spiritual work"
  • In D10: Jupiter + Sun in 5th house + Mercury in 10th → these planets working in harmony for spiritual service
  • "Dharma-karma yoga — Lagna lord, 4th lord, 9th lord all involved in a confluence = most auspicious for spiritual karma in society"

Annual D7 (2006) — First Daughter's Marriage

2006 ATP D7 chart: 7th house is even sign but Rahu is there → count forward 11 houses → Pisces = daughter's lagna for the year

  • Pisces lagna: "lagna lord Jupiter in lagna — strong"
  • 7th lord Mercury in 7th house = "very good for marriage"
  • UL in Aries with exalted Mars = auspicious
  • Venus in a trine from lagna and quadrant from UL; Venus in Cancer = "very fruitful sign"
  • "Despite Moon + Sun eclipsed in 8th from UL (spiritual matters blocking marriage), Venus is strong — marriage is possible"
  • Best dashas for daughter's marriage: Mercury dasha or Venus dasha in 2006
